Can play both in and out. I'll gladly take him depending on what free agency brings

Lots of talk this week about Kyle Shanahan vs. protege Matt LaFleur in NFC title game. Shanahan the former Falcons coordinator, LaFleur the ex-QB coach during 2016 Super Bowl run. I asked Dan Quinn during season if he considered any of the guys in Shanahan coaching tree for O.C — Matt LaFleur, Mike LaFleur, Mike McDaniel — after Shanny left for 49ers. “Yes. 100 percent,’’ Quinn told me. But not all 3. “Matt [LaFleur],’’ Quinn said. Quinn expressed no regrets about hiring Steve Sarkisian, though.

Polamalu, Sanders, and Ronnie Lott probably don't see it that way. And that's just guys off the top of my head and are all defensive backs.

Thats really what it boil down to.

But Vic is good in coverage. And every DE drops into coverage every now and then. Abe used to drop in coverage sometimes. It’s not exclusive to quinn and Beasley. I remember big Vince worfork dropping into coverage and actually getting a pick and almost scoring.

That TD wasn’t on sherm. That was on Chancelor or Thomas. The seam in cover 3 isn’t on the corner. That’s the FS’s job. I’ve had this discussion before. They brought roddy in tight in that play to get him AWAY from Sherman. If you recall Sherman didn’t follow roddy tight. He stayed outside. Roddy ran up the seam. Sherm tried to run it out but that was not his responsibility.

If Free restructures, I'm good. I don't want to take a RB unless we have to.
I'd much rather go interior OL/future C in round 2 than try to grab a RB this year unless it's a clear BPA type situation.
Of course, we might be taking a TE if we let Hooper walk.

Honestly, that's the rub with all these mocks pre-draft...
A run on a position leaves remaining guy not the BPA at a now thin/dry position that could leave you overdrafting by position based drafting regardless of board.
Sometimes we are mocking based on perceived needs/roster focus and ignore big board/possibility of short-term vet allowing you to avoid over-drafting a need and getting BPA; a guy you are targeting on big board basically with however you grade them out.

Wasn’t Sherms responsibility. Cover 3 the seam is on the FS. The corner has deep sideline. Either Thomas or Kam bit on something they shouldn’t have and roddy had the seam. The falcons set that play up earlier in the game.

He said we have our franchise QB.
The guy said it was a tough season and Julio said the GM has got to do his thing. I think he's saying TD has to fix the roster. Other issues. The Oline especially.

Had he said no to drafting a qb period your point would be more substantial. He simply said no to Tua. Matt’s only about to turn 35. Dude still has 4-5 years minimum left to play. There’s no rush to find his replacement and this is coming from a guy who made a thread about Jordan Love

Needs to be Freeman/Hill/Ito/Ollison and Barner comes back as returner again.

It’s cool to be built the way we are. But we’re at our best when we have a running game. We were a passing team in 2012 AND 2016 and 17 but we were EFFICIENT at running the ball. It’s not about PASS first or RUN first. That doesn’t mean anything Foreal because you have to be able to do both. If Henry gets shut down the titans lose. If turner was shut down we lost more than not. That term ends first or pass first is bs. It’s about being dominant in one and efficient in the other. Pass or run. In 16 we were dominant in the pass and efficient running. THAT is the key to success. Being able to do both. The broncos with TD were dominant running and efficient passing.

Don’t I’ve just had a running battle talking bout this over the last 10 pages or so.
All of a sudden we are talking continuity in-house hires now why wasn’t this case in 2016.
We want continuity with the wrong people.

All that rest is coming back to haunt Baltimore. The rams lost to us after all that rest. Peyton and Indy couldn’t get over the hump because dungy rested them bit the year they won he played them after clinching. I get coaches are worried about injury but when a team is dialed in you play them. At least 3 qtrs. BB always played Tom and the boys after they clinched all the way up to the playoffs starting. Too much rest brings about rust.
