It’s plays like that why I don’t watch nfl football like I used too. Game is too soft. QB’s are still football players. What more could he do? They want the defensive players to put THEIR bodies in danger trying to alter a tackle to protect a QB. Meanwhile Matt rarely gets those calls.

This is the team that got TD canned.  Talent doesn't help if it cannot be effectively utilized.  TD and Quinn were tied at the hip.  Blank made this clear in 2015.

Another BS thread started by someone who has absolutely no clue what they’re talking about. No clue what people did/do and don’t want on Quinn or Ryan, as well as being EMBARRASSINGLY clueless about how to build a winning football team.
Just one example...I wanted Quinn gone 3 years ago....but think it would be incredibly stupid to move on from Ryan.

Does anyone factor on whether or not Eric B even wants to be here, will Fields be there when we draft? You cant just do what you want. Kubiak actually had interest but was blocked. It's not that simple in the NFL. You dont start blowing things up and projecting a future roster without a back up plan.

This is what I’ve been saying for YEEEEEARS!!!! Picking early guarantees nothing. Football isn’t like basketball where one player can change your fortunes. I think we ate a talented team that needs a coach that holds EVERY player accountable, including his stars. Gets on their @sses just as quickly as the 53rd player until it becomes the culture. If stars like Matt and Julio were held accountable to the point where we’d trade tf outta you like BB will his stars I think you’d see a team that plays up to their potential and other stats would be willing to come here to play for that kind of coach.

as for a gm one that picks the groceries his coach wants and not HIS picks and also doesn’t meddle in roster business once the players are in place. In other words let’s the coach bench a high draft pick or expensive player that isn’t performing. That’s what we need.

I don't think either are high percentage but I don't think it's likely at all that we beat out the Jets for the top pick.

See I don’t subscribe to this. Yes technically you could say he was a part of the problem but it wasn’t his team. Quinn was the boss and we don’t know if Morris wanted to do something and Quinn shot it down. Every assistant with NE does things Bill’s way. Some HC’s hand tie their assistants. I mean one week after Quinn was fired we saw creativity on offense and defense. That alone shows you that they were following Quinn’s blueprint. As DC he coordinates the defense but when they sit down at team meetings I have no doubt Quinn was yaying or naying ideas his assistants had with the plan. So yea I agree to a degree Morris was a part of the problem but it was by default when Quinn is the boss.

Key is having a young QB that hasn't received his major contract yet. Gives you a lot more flexibility and a deeper roster.

Neal had all of 4 targets because of injury what a pointless comparison for him.
Jones def looked like he was just going through the motions this year up until last week. He looked defeated under Quinn.

    Broncos/Chargers games should be wins.
Raiders is a solid team. This is one of two games I’ll be closely watching to see how we play. The other being the 1st Bucs game.
Chiefs might be resting their starters at this point. If they aren’t, I can’t see us matching up with them on either side of the ball.

I agree with everything here, especially if it’s a player they like.  Bash Ryan, but lay off the player they like.  Sometimes people take their lumps.  Did Terrell had a rough game first game in the pros?  Yes.  Was it expected being a rookie corner.  Yes.  Did I think less of him after that game?  No.  All those things can be true.
What I don’t agree with is it being a kids game, I personally hate when that take is brought up and still used.  Just because kids play a version of it, doesn’t make it a kids game.  Kids don’t play it the same way pro’s do, don’t hit, don’t have the complex schemes, don’t wear the stress from fans and media and don’t put the time into it.   It’s like saying contractors make a bunch of money and comparing it to kids playing with legos, it’s completely different.  In reality, those kids are playing a watered down version of an adults game.
