  1. I was aware that Duke Johnson was on M.Mayock's list of top 5 running backs but, WOW, had not looked at highlight video. He has vision, speed, cuts and appears, power tho the OL may be helping a lot there. How much significantly better does it get? Allows us to pick another need 1 round earlier and maybe pick him in the 4th round. Wonder about his size. Our choice of RB probably needs to be a bit larger than Freeman and Smith.
  2. I agree with Gazzo. Bierman would not have been retained if Quinn didn't see a positional fit for him. May be a rotational role but bet it will be as LB. Wonder if he could compete in TC for Mlb.
  3. Know this is a highlight tape but a player either has speed, moves to disengage from blockers, and length to get to the ball quickly, or he doesn't. From what I saw RG has those things. Not my 1st choice at #8 could definitely help our anemic pass rush
  4. My brother follows the Panthers closely. He tells me that beside the cloud of domestic violence that hangs over Greg Hardy plus any money issues with Mr. Richardson, the Panthers are done with him for one other reason. He is NOT a good locker room teammate. Apparently that is being widely discussed in the Carolina fan base but has been pushed back because he is a great player. But with these other high profile issues even a player with his demonstrated skill is summarily told that he will no longer be a Panther. If that is not enough of a red flag I don't know what is.
  5. WR class is deep. Roddy to slot and draft his outside replacement in 3rd round. Stud RB (also deep) no later than 4th. Draft edge rusher #1 and best system MLB #2. BPA rounds 5 through 7. Vet. LG, TE on offense; edge rusher and best system CB on defense.
  6. All OL, current and future, will have to fit the ZBS. Baker seems somewhat above average in that regard. Could the new staff want to see if he can play either RT or Guard since he will likely be retained until after June 1st for Cap reasons? Someone comment on whether Baker could play guard in a ZBS.
  7. The answer to the OP is ---absolutely! The Board doesn't agree which of the two is better. With the new staff and blocking scheme the only way to flush out the best Center for us will be determined in training camp.
  8. Byron Maxwell has been mentioned on these boards. Greg Cosel said this morning that Maxwell was a vastly underrated Corner--6+ feet and just north of 200 pounds. That he and Sherman were the reason Chancellor was able to be used so effectively. He may be expensive but if Quinn could bring him ,he could solve any Corner problems we may have.
  9. The Pantheon is only one building built in ancient Rome by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Caesar Augustus. The building has a number of unique architectural features unique to the time and of interest to architects even today. One particular feature is an oculus which was a building and lighting innovation. 'Pantheon' would be a unique name appropriate only to this type of architecture. 'Atlanta Pantheon' or 'Georgia Pantheon' could be preferred names.
  10. Two questions: Are there teams who, as of today, who have not filled their HC position besides Atlanta? If Atl. does not hire Austin in the next 2 or 3 days we are almost certainly waiting for Quinn, making Austin a DC candidate. If that scenario happens, what are your thoughts that Austin could come to the Falcons knowing that if Quinn "trips" up that he could be the next HC? 4LoveoftheGame posted a reference about Shanahan's mixed success in stops in Houston, Cleveland and Washington. What was the QB situation on those teams compared to what he would come to in Atlanta?

  12. I really believe that if Rex Ryan was "the man" Mr. Blank would have made it plain to him before he signed with Buffalo. Just going to offer a guess( that's all any of us can do.) It's between Bowles and Quinn. Don't know how to factor Quinn's continued involvement in the playoffs with Blank's time table, but if Blank is happy with Bowles, I say he 'pulls the trigger." Many feel we need an offensive minded HC, but what we REALLY need is a rebuilt defense. IF this HC scenario is close to correct, the OC could well be Trestman or Kyle Shanahan unless the 'new HC' has another strong candidate in
  13. Koetter was probably told that his retention as Falcon OC would have to wait review by the new HC. Tampa offered him the job and the took it rather than await an uncertain situation in Atlanta. "Bird in the hand worth more than two in the bush"
  14. My previous posts re: Ryan as HC have been on the negative side. Would be my 1st choice as DC, but the point about him not having a quality QB is certainly true. Bring in a Trestman to run the offense and I think we likely have a WINNER!!
  15. "Bucs don't have a quarterback"---but they will after the 2015 draft!
