  1. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/29/chris-chester-scheduled-to-visit-eagles-falcons/ Chris Chester scheduled to visit Eagles, Falcons Posted by Josh Alper on May 29, 2015, 2:15 PM EDTGetty ImagesGuard Chris Chester lost his job in Washington earlier this week, but he may not be unemployed for long. Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that Chester has lined up visits with the Eagles and Falcons. The Eagles know Chester well after facing the Redskins eight times in Chester’s four seasons with his old team. They released Todd Herremans early in the offseason and gave Evan Mathis the chance to shop himself in a trade, so they’re clearly open to making some changes on the interior of their offensive line. Mathis remains on the roster, but isn’t taking part in the team’s offseason work. There’s familiarity with Chester in Atlanta as well. Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan held the same job in Washington during Chester’s first three years with the Redskins and Chester could provide an upgrade on some of the current players vying for spots on the depth chart with the Falcons.

  5. Jacquizz Rodgers visiting Bears Posted by Josh Alper on March 31, 2015, 11:29 AM EDTAPThe Bears have Matt Forte and Ka’Deem Carey on the top two rungs of their running back depth chart and it appears they’re open to adding a little veteran depth to go with that duo. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jacquizz Rodgers is visiting with the Bears. Rodgers spent four years with the Falcons after Atlanta drafted him in the fifth round of the 2011 draft. Rodgers was of most use in the passing game during his tenure with the Falcons, catching 155 passes for 1,104 yards and five touchdowns while also playing the role of pass blocker when the situation called for it. He didn’t add nearly as much as a runner, but that’s probably not the chief concern in Chicago with Forte and Carey already on hand. The Falcons parted ways with Steven Jackson, leaving Devonta Freeman and Antone Smith in Atlanta’s backfield at the moment.

  7. So I get to work this AM and one of my co-workers, a rabid Seahawks fan jumps up and with all seriousness, BLAMES THE ATLANTA FALCONS for his Seahawks losing last night. He claims Arthur Blank took the focus away from Dan Quinn which trickled down to the players and evidently to Coach Carroll who made the "Smith-esque" call... Cannot make this stuff up!
  8. Just "pretty sure" huh? Gotta admit, it sure a shyt resembles him. Maybe this is his dopledanger...

  10. http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/football/falcons-rb-devonta-freeman-injured-in-practice/ngzTg/ The Atlanta Journal-Constitution FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons rookie running back Devonta Freeman left the field with an undisclosed injury and did not return to practice on Monday. “I don’t know exactly what happened,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “He left the field and was not able to come back out. I don’t think it’s anything serious. But we’ll know a little more in the next hour or two.” Freeman, a fourth-round draft pick, accounted for 107 total yards on 11 touches in the exhibition opener against Miami. He rushed for 50 yards on 10 carries and caught a pass for 57 yards. Freeman was pleased with his debut. “I felt like I did an OK job,” said Freeman after the game. “But I have a lot of work to do with everything and every phase, pass block and runs. Overall, I just have a lot of work to do.” The Falcons are already hurting at the running back position. Steven Jackson, who’s listed No. 1 on the depth chart, has been out with a left hamstring injury. With Jackson out and Freeman possibly slowed, Jacquizz Rodgers, Antone Smith, Josh Vaughan and Jerome Smith are the remaining healthy running backs on the roster.
