Sports, film, music, reading, writing. I have a wide range of interests. Sometimes it comes back to bite me.
  1. I think the last thing we need is an aging receiver. No disrespect to Ward, I love watching him play and he seems like a solid guy. But picking him up wouldn't be a smart move.
  2. Hey guys, I need some help from the Falcons faithful. I have a friend who has just gotten into the NFL (was only into college football previously). He doesn't yet have a team he calls his own, so I'm trying to convince him to become a Falcons fan. I'm planning on making a big pitch to him explaining why he should call the Atlanta Falcons his team. So my question is: if you were in my position, what aspects of the Falcons would you highlight in order to be most persuasive? What would you say to convince someone to become a fan of your beloved Atlanta Falcons? (PS- if this belongs in another
  3. I feel like the thread title should be, "9/11 coloring book criticized for its existence".
  4. Colonel Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds Hal 3000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Though it's arguable whether he's a "bad guy".
  5. You make an interesting point about it. But, I still really want to watch it anyway. I'm desperate for a good science fiction TV show. The previews for Terra Nova haven't been particularly interesting, but I'm hoping it surprises me.
  6. I'm going to take meaningful to also mean personally meaningful. Here Comes the Sun- The Beatles Stop This Train- John Mayer *raises flame shields* La Vie En Rose Naked As We Came- Iron & Wine Razorblade- The Strokes America- Simon & Garfunkel
  7. In my short life I've noticed a sort of fluctuation in insect populations. Some years in my town there will be a crapload of mosquitoes, the next year there will be hardly any. These same fluctuations probably apply to other forms of life, but I'm only 20 so I've not really noticed them in anything other than insects. This is coming from a guy who got a B in 9th grade biology, so don't listen to me.
  8. I'm in the last 50 pages or so of 2001: A Space Odyssey. I really love it. I'm a huge fan of the film, so I'm eager to see how the end is executed.
  9. MacGruber was surprisingly really funny. Will Forte's comedic timing is great, and Kristen Wiig is hilarious as always. I couldn't believe that I liked this movie. It looked so stupid and obnoxious. Well, it is pretty stupid, but it made me laugh a lot nonetheless.
  10. Haha, I know exactly what you mean, OP. I'm far from fat, but I could stand to lose 5-10 pounds, just to look a bit nice for my lady. But there are so many delicious foods that need to be eaten! Not to mention I'm addicted to soda.
  11. Okay everyone, here's a question about your beer containment chambers. What do you like to drink beer out of? Glass, mug, just the bottle, or something else? The reason I ask: I just bought some Auburn drinkware at a sale at the arena today. I bought one tall glass, and one ceramic mug. I figured I could keep one and give my dad the other. The glass would be best for seeing the beer's color, and the more obvious contemporary choice. But the mug is really nice-looking. And it looks like what they'd drink beer out of at an old Irish pub or something. The dork in me wants to go with the mu
  12. I understand what transparent means, thanks. I just wanted you to be more specific, because I was curious. I don't completely disagree with the film being predictable. But I thought the ride to the end was pretty darn intense.
  13. I asked what you DIDN'T like. So far all I've gotten from you is that it was transparent. What do you mean, exactly?
