That’s fair. But you sure don’t have an issue doing it with Fields.

I’m honestly having a tough time deciding whether you would rather UGA win a NC or OSU just so you can say I told you so. I think you being right about Fields is more important to you than either Fields’ or UGA’s success. That’s not meant to be a dig. Just an honest observation.

Kirby doesn’t call the fake without the option to audible back to a punt. We got an alignment from Bama that made the fake an option. Bama shifted and adjusted to it before we could snap the ball. The fault there is on the players for not getting set and snapping the ball. Fault also goes to the coaching staff for not getting a TO called in time. After the ball was snapped, Fields panicked and crumbled. He had a chance to make the kind of impact every player wants to make on the season and he folded.
We’ll probably never know whether Bama tried to encourage a fake with their alignment and shift at the last second like they do all the time on defense or whether they recognized it late and corrected. Point is, there’s plenty of blame to go around and Fields isn’t exempt.

Dude calm down he’s the highest rated recruit since Herschel and the highest rated QB we’ve ever signed... you weren’t exactly predicting a 3 star player to light things up my man, everyone was saying it. You’re just giddy about him because he’s a local kid for you.
I’m not holding on to any hate. I already had that discussion with you. I know what the facts are about his time in Athens, you’ve always looked the other way. I think it’s goofy how you act about him and I’ve pointed out before how you getting so sensitive about it leads to people giving you more **** about it.
Kirby didn’t bungle Fields bro, Justin had a big time attitude and entitlement problem. He was given multiple chances to act right and also to earn the QB job. He couldn’t run the offense as effectively as the starter. He thought, like in high school, he could tell his coaches what to do... and when that was not the case in any way shape or form he got other players on his side. We’re better off without him. He’s better off at Ohio State. I’m over it. Just don’t post **** like Kirby screwed up and Fields will dominate everyone he plays and then get all pissy when someone who knows better refutes it.

I really hope we get the backs moving up the field this week. I don’t know if there’s a lot of defenses that will play football as disciplined as ND but they covered up the check downs to the backs and other teams are going to try and replicate that. Especially off an audible at the line.
We need to run some wheel routes and get the backs in the middle of the field to counter that. I can guarantee that Bama and Auburn will key in on that when we play.

I also remember Kirby mentioning that we didn’t snap it early enough in the play clock. Idk if that was on Fields or the rest of the players for not getting set in time but that was a big factor also.

I think Bama gets the nod in that scenario. They would have wins over LSU and Auburn who right now look like top 10 if not both top 5 teams. In doing so they would also be showing they can out score a high powered offense in LSU and beat a solid defensive team in Auburn. OOC games aside that’s a stronger resume than ND can put up.
Also, given their history I think the committee gives Bama the nod against any team with the same record. Many folks may not like that but it’s hard to argue against.
I’m not necessarily saying they do or don’t deserve it but that’s just how I see it playing out.

How do you prove an argument without stats to back it up? Perception? We know both sides are biased to their team so stats (aka facts) are used to build an argument. By removing GT, you’re  cherry picking to try and make your argument? Why don’t we exclude Bama’s neutral site games? I’ll tell you why: it’s because those games are relevant to the argument. Just as GT is. Just like Georgia has played half of those games at an opposing team’s stadium compared to Alabama’s 2 in the same time frame.

UVA is better than people realize too. I think a lot of times people want teams like Alabama, Georgia, etc. to play big brands. In reality, if either team dropped a G5 OOC game and scheduled say SMU (another G5 team I know), people would complain. But in reality, SMU is a good team this year. A lot of what it comes down to is the perception of other teams. Let's say Oklahoma for instance scheduled Cal instead of USC for this year. People would be livid that they played Cal and would have asked why they weren't playing USC. In reality, Cal is a better match up than USC this year.
So in short, I think a lot of people look at the name on the front of the jersey and automatically make a judgement about a team. People did that with Duke this year, and they will with UVA too.
If you want my honest opinion though, I think both Alabama and Georgia got luck with Duke and UVA lol. Neither team was expected to be that good, but both may end up being solid 8/9 win teams.

Y’all cry about “Fields haters” but bring up Fromm and talk **** about Kirby in every single Ohio State thread lol
    Some fans we have.
It would be nice to have Fields as a QB if we ran the kind of offense Ohio State does. Fields only stuck around Athens for one season, his freshman season, so we will never know how he would have worked out with our offense. Blame Justin for deciding to lie to get out of UGA so he wouldn’t have to earn it from Fromm. Crying about it won’t change anything.

This is a bad look. Boosters, students, admin and fans should all be upset over this. This is just another arrow in the amateurism is dead quiver.
If a coach asked me to do that I’d probably take the redshirt and announce I’m transferring at the end of the year.

I wasn’t arguing it should have been a penalty on us. Like you said our guy was in position first and the ND receiver initiated the contact.
FF567 was arguing the no call on us and I was wondering why he would do so considering if that was Auburn he would have been arguing the opposite.

I actually tivo'd the game and after going to bed and taking a few days off from thinking about football i cued this bad boy up again to see if I saw this wrong.  Our guy actually in perfect position and is waiting for the ball while the big nd TE is trying desperately to get into position.  The ND player actually runs through our guy and loses his balance in trying to twist his body around.  Not only did we not pass interfere but you could argue the nd player interfered more with our player.  Its natural for you to put your hands up and grab on to a jersey when someone is going to run straight through you, especially a big TE over a DB.  In the picture, the ball is in the air about the 32 yard line and it comes down right at the 10.  You can see our guy isn't even touching the offensive player and is almost in a punt fielding position.  He is putting his hands up to brace against the TE running through him which is where you get the jersey grabbing.  Our guy played it perfectly and there's no ref on the planet that would call PI against us.  Great job by our defense on this one.  Sorry but this was a clean play.

It’s weird we don’t attack the middle. I remember Fromm tearing Bama up on slants in the NC game his freshman year.
Considering how ND was playing a lot of 2 deep and trying to press the line with the front 7 the intermediate passing game to the middle should have been open all night. ND has a great game plan on defense and executed it really well. Still, our offensive performance was extremely frustrating.

Fromm did everything he needed to do to put us in a position to win that game. You can argue whether the defense let us down or whether Tua won that game. Same for Hurts/Bama and Watson/Clemson.
The weird thing about this argument of game managers is neither you nor Bdawg are saying Fromm is a game manager.
College football is cyclical. After the HUNH came into being Offense was on top. Saban brought back defensive dominance. Now it’s the RPO. Offensive football has been trending up for a while and I don’t think that’ll change with the rules and officials opening things up for offenses but defensive minded football isn’t dead. Clemson has a great offense last year but they don’t win without that sick front 4.
Championships are won IMO with playmakers. Defenses don’t have to be dominant every play. You have to find guys that can force negative plays and turnovers. I think back to those Packers and Saints defenses in the mid 2000s that weren’t great but forced mistakes. That’s what it takes, IMO to win with defense these days.

And I’m sorry, in college you can win Championships without your QB throwing for 300 a game if you have a great defense and a run game that can eat clock. UGA is literally a defensive secondary breakdown from having a National Championship so I’m confused where this thought comes from

Fromm is doing everything he’s asked to. If you have any issues it should be with the coaching staff and not Fromm. He’s been dialed in all season.

I called a blowout before the game because I thought Kirby was gonna take the training wheels off and let the offense loose. I was completely wrong. It’s really hard to get excited about this team when the offense is playing so passively.
A lot of credit goes to ND for playing a great game but if we’re gonna play offense with one arm tied behind our back we’re not going to meet our expectations and this teams potential. Our idea of opening up the offense is running cute motions and passed behind the line of scrimmage. And it’s so frustrating because we see flashes of the offense looking totally dominant at times.
ND played a lot of 2 deep safety to take away the deep pass game. The 10-15 yard passing routes should have been there all night especially in the middle with the run game threat but we didn’t go there very often.
