  1. Here is the AFMB recap (taken from numerous pre-season posts):

QB - Matt Ryan is a noodle arm loser. Davis should be starting, oh wait, now he sucks and our QB situation is dire.

RB - Turner is too slow and fat to play RB in the NFL. Quizz is too small. Snelling is...well who knows.

FB - Polite is Ovie Part 2. Cox stinks. Dimitroff drafted Ewing knowing he'd blow out a knee on a block from behind.

LT - Baker sucks. Svitek sucks. Holmes sucks.

    LG - Blalock is OK.

C - McClure is done and Hawley sucks. Konz stinks.

RG - Reynolds, Johnson, Konz and everyone else sucks.

RT - Clabo forgot how to play football.

    WR1 - Roddy can't catch.

WR2 - Julio is a god on Earth...except for him dropping diving catch attempts. Dimitroff is hurting Julio's hamstrings very soon.

WR3 - Everyone after Julio sucks. Kerry Meier should be killed because people root for him to succeed.

WR4 - Good luck. Treasure chest of fail.

TE - Tony G needs to hang it up because he is not Graham or Gronkowski.

DE - Ray Edwards sucks. Biermann needs to concentrate on football instead of his wife.

DE - Abe is good. Everyone behind him sucks.

DT - Babs is a felon, but he is good.

DT - Dimitroff caused Peters to get a broken foot. Jerry is playing well...or he sucks. Everyone else sucks.

LB - Spoon rules. Nicholas is OK. Dent sucks.

CB - Grimes is good. Robinson sucks. Samuel sucks. Franks sucks. Owens sucks.

S - Decoud sucks. Moore is great as long as Dimitroff doesn't injure him. Everyone else sucks.

    Special Teams:

    K - Bryant is great.

P - Bosher is great, except when he sucks.

    PR - Everyone sucks.

    KR - Quizz sucks.

Smith - Too conservative except when going for it on 4th. Then he is not conservative enough. Needs to post medical records on the AFMB.

Koetter - Same as Mularkey, except for screens and deep passing.

    Nolan - Too vanilla.

    Did I miss anything?

One of the very few posts that have made me literally lol.

  2. I must admit that I seriously underestimated Toone. I like his speed and he has good hands. The decision on who will be that 5th WR will be difficult. IMO, having Lamark Brown as hybrid WR/TE is really an option the Falcons never had, and an option that would add another dangerous weapon to the Falcons arsenal on offense. If he (Brown) is used as such, why would the Falcons keep Meier? Let's say that the Falcons use Brown as this hybrid option. Let's say that Brown should beef up to 235-240 lbs. He would not be too heavy to be a WR, yet not too light to be used at TE and of course, he would develop good blocking skills as well. For now though, Michael Palmer should continue to develop and be groomed to be the starter next year However, it would be great to have Brown as this hybrid player to use his speed and hands that would give the Falcons another possible deep threat.

    Oh man.

  3. I don't like the first 3 picks personally. Not the prospects, more-so just the positions. I could see a LT if it indeed becomes a need for us heading into next season, but I think we're fine right now. The CB pick is a bit head-scratching. I understand the reasoning, but I don't think investing a 2nd round is needed. I absolutely do not see us taking a pass rusher at all.

Disregarding FA, I'd prefer TE, RB, LB/OL/DB as our first 3 picks.

  4. I like what I have seen from Brown. The move TE is more in now days anyway. Sure if you can get a guy like Graham or Gronk that are a size mismatch and can run as well, it makes them more dangerouse. I don't think I hardly ever see those guys on the end of the line blocking down on a DE or OLB and holding the point.

I don't pay that much attention to those guys, only see them on highlights or when they play the Falcons, but I see them standing up a lot and going in motion. I think Brown is a keeper. Gonzalez, Brown and Palmer. Brown is athletic he is just no Julio.

Gronk is a pretty good blocker, but he's also in a pass-happy offense. Graham is basically just a huge WR though. I kinda' think Brown is in that same boat.

  5. Shannon Sharpe was a wr turned TE. Lamark reminds me of that type of hybrid because he doesn't really have nfl wr speed. Maybe add 5-10 pounds but I think that's the direction they're going with him. A sharpe type.

He ran a 4.48 at 228 lbs. at his pro-day. Seems to me like he's got more than enough speed to play WR, especially considering that he's about 15 lbs. heavier than most taller receivers.

He's never going to play as a traditional TE for us, but he could be a nice receiver on the inside.

  6. I really don't think it's that absurd. The Patriots, Saints, and Packers all have really good receiving corps.

The Patriots have: Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Deion Branch, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez

The Saints have: Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Devery Henderson, Jimmy Graham, Darren Sproles

The Packers have: Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, Randall Cobb, Jermichael Finley

Those are all solid. We only have 4 legitimate options, so I could see how this argument can be made.
