  1. "Below is a stab at what the first 16 picks might look like if the 2014 NFL Draft were held today, knowing what we now know (which isn't a whole lot) five months removed from the draft. These are players who are playing the best through the first four weeks of their NFL careers. We made no attempt to match team and need; this is best player available."
  2. 100% agree. I try to tell my friends the same thing when they knock Ryan for his INTs after only looking at the game stats. Ryan is making riskier throws that he wouldn't normally make because if he doesn't at least try, they won't win. Screw his stats - whatever it takes for a chance to win. I think this is overlooked by a lot of people who only look at box scores. Glad you posted this.
  3. Did the exact same thing. Once he caught it and broke the initial tackle, I told my friend "He's gone!!!"
  4. I was confused too at first. This was posted below the video: NFL.com All-Time Draft of 2014 Rules Teams will select historic NFL players in the order of the 2014 NFL Draft No player on a current NFL roster is eligible to be drafted In this scenario, each player is 22 years old and has just finished college Picks are made solely based on need and players’ college careers, rather than their NFL production
  5. Is that Twitter handle supposed to say AbamSchefter?
  6. Hey saints fan just in case you missed this post, here it is again
  7. Here's one I just did: 6OT GREG ROBINSON AUBURN 37 DE KONY EALY MISSOURI 68 TE AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS WASHINGTON 103 S ED REYNOLDS STANFORD 139 DT DANIEL MCCULLERS TENNESSEE 147 RB JAMES WHITE WISCONSIN 182 DT RYAN CARRETHERS ARKANSAS STATE 220 CB RICARDO ALLEN PURDUE 253 FB J.C. COPELAND LSU 255 WR KEVIN NORWOOD ALABAMA
  8. Braxton Miller is a "first time QB"..? What???
  9. Well... if we KEEP Matty Ice, we would have our QB, and have a first and second round pick - instead of "two awesome 2nd round picks" for pass rush and OL.
  10. and yes I know drafting an OT sort of contradicts "letting Holmes develop", but I think Holmes may be better off being a backup at the moment while still learning in practice and in the film room before taking over a starting position.
  11. Agreed that we have a lot of bodies at OT already, but with our O-line being so bad, I don't think you can say we couldn't use upgrades at every position. The guys you listed might be able to be adequate at tackle, but if you have the chance to add an OT you can plug in or 10 years to protect your most valuable player, the QB, why not do so? We could have adequate starters with Baker and Holmes/Johnson, but what happens if Baker gets injured? I just don't have faith in Carimi and Schraeder at the moment. Drafting an OT, say Matthews for example, have him learn at RT for this year or two while Holmes has time to develop more, then hopefully have bookend tackles set. Don't know much about Fiedorowicz except he's a mid round pick (not sure how early so i just threw out 4th round)
  12. 4th or 4th round comp pick again.. think we need to go OT, Pass rusher, safety with the first 3
