I never understood all the Holyfield hype* and there were a lot of us who said he'd never cut it in the NFL.  But even in school, he had what...three of four good games against less-than-elite defenses?  That might look good on film but transfer that film to the speed of the NFL before you anoint the next great college phenom.  I'm looking at you, Chase Young.

    *Bulldog mania notwithstanding

Running behind the best run-blocking lines? in the country made him look good.

Meanwhile my boy Cominsky came in to the combine fresh off of Hot and Readys and his high school gym and ripped a 4.6 lol.  Strength is a thing a player can easily improve upon with dedication and he definitely looks stronger this year.   I just want the guy to develop into a player that offenses have to account for in the formation.  His potential to be really good at stunts is there.  Going to be fun to watch him this year.

    Good post.

Like every other fan, I was frustrated. I played football in high school, I loved the sport, and I followed it professionally. When the opportunity came to buy them, I wasn’t really thinking about it as an investment. I thought I could do a better job than the ownership was doing here. I didn’t mean that in a mean way. I just thought given our business background, etc. Really I just wanted to show that Atlanta could be a competitive team, we could fill a stadium, we could do things to get us in the top of the league.

A warrior. He wanted Rankin Smith out. He enjoyed competitive football. His way was to buy the team and create a winner. He was successful. Love this story.

Great post, thanks Goob. @Goober Pyle

    4. Run game improvement key. In 2019, NFL teams with a 100-yard rusher posted a 78-28 record for a .736 winning percentage. That rated higher than teams with a 100-yard receiver (96-84-2, .533) or a 300-yard passer (68-61-2, .530).

The Falcons didn’t have a 100-yard rusher in any game last season. The Falcons only went for more than 100 yards rushing, as a group, in four games. Devonta Freeman’s season-high was 88 yards in a loss Oct. 13 to Arizona.

Of note, former LSU running back Leonard Fournette was released by the Jaguars Monday morning.

    Good post.

Ask a safety about the pass rush: "It's Great." Fan speak: OL bites!

Ask a RB about the run blocking: "It's Great!" Fan speak: Front seven not as good as we thought!

We are all fans. I know most of the comments are light-hearted and in good fun. That said, fan logic would be an interesting physiological study. Brings me back to the good 'ole days of "Caro-logic."

I agree.  Er, ...Wait. What? :tiphat:
