While in college, I worked at one of the local grocery stores. We had all of the freezers go down one day. I walked into the breakroom to see all of the frozen food stock guys sitting down with about 200 frozen dinners stacked on anything that would hold them. They were microwaving them and eating them as fast as they could. It went downhill from there.....at least for them. :ninja:

About 15 years ago a major hurricane ripped through an area south of here.

The major, and minor, grocery stores ran out of diesel for their generators after a week. My company hauled tons of food to the landfill for days.

    Horrible.

This is so true.  We have 3 freezers and a regular refrigerator. We had started rotating them on the generator an hour each.  We were lucky and the power came back pretty quick but we had enough gas on hand for about a week.

    Good prepping.

I am in SW FL and our food was saved in the nick of time by a friend who had a generator and was not affected by the power outage when that hurricane came through here a couple-three years ago. Water stayed on, but had 50 Gal stored.

Cooking in a SunOven and coffee with a rocket stove...but we saved our refrigerated/frozen food.

Dammit, it is hot here without AC/fans!:tiphat:

    Great video. A few observations...

    1. Amazing return. Deion was a man among boys.
2.Saw Ralph Norwood who would die tragically in a car accident while a Falcon. I believe that same year  Brad Beckham, a TE also died in a car wreck and David Croudip died of an apparent drug overdose the year before.
    3. Tim Green congratulating him. A brilliant man suffering from a horrible disease currently.
    4.  Marcus Cotton on the play who, along with Aundray Bruce, were supposed to be dominant linebackers for the Falcons for a decade or more. Unfortunately that did not happen.
    5. I believe Marion Campbell may have been HC at the time and the team was awful.

Funny how time changes how you look at things. With the exception of Deion, these may very well have been the darkest days of the franchise.

You remember much Falcon history........In that, thanks for those observations....I remember the tragic death of Norwood, but none else, except Tim Green's fight.

  4. I was there too. With my brother. We debated on whether to spend our hard earned $ on the Falcons. And drive a 50 mile round trip.

I said to my brother...It's the only game in town....Let's get us a $10 ticket outside the gates and see a NFL game. We did...and still laugh.

Deon brought the hair on my neck to attention, after he waved both arms to the sparse crowd, they (We.) responded. We felt it and so did he.

The greatest in-person sports experience of my short life.

I’m not sure why the run game fell off so hard in 2018 outside of injury but usually you can plug and play if the OL is doing it’s job

I don't think the OL was functional with two rooks and the rest...Injury as you said.

We know what happened with LG and RG was not professional football.  When Lindy returned, things got better.

I expect vast improvement running the ball this season.

    Good post.

Edit: I was reading your post as what happened in 2019.

    Never mind.

I watched this game again about two months ago. Watched beginning to end because I wanted the payoff to be that much sweeter. It was good to give another fan base a sample of our home brew (losing in the most painful, heart wrenching way imaginable) and the tears of Vikings fans get me through the rough times.

With that being said, It'm glad they can say the same thing about the Stains (twice).

We, as Falcon fans, have suffered more than what is normal through the years.

Knee shots on Bart...false penalties, fake calls in the end zone. Days past.

But alas, they do injure themselves with so many stupid pre-snap penalties.

We (I.) am getting to the point where I must look to past achievements to get ready for this season.

Me and my lil bro took off to Miami the next week. Drove from NC to Miami....long drive. We took $2500 each...stayed at a place called Richards’s Motel...bought lower level tickets for 1k$ ea from a salesman we met at the bar in the Marriott Downtown Hotel. Woke up SB morning only to hear about E Robinson going jail. Awesome experience and fun trip......we took a *** whipping headed back, stopped at the PGA Golf show in Orlando on Monday and made it home about midnight.  I’ll never forget it. Oh yeah saw Jerry Jones and JImmy Johnson at the hotel and saw Lynn Swann at Miam Gold a night or two before the SB. True story....just thought I’d share.

A once in a life time my friend. Glad you did it.
