I’m shocked, shocked! That the kid who is considered the most pro ready prospect in a long time is putting up good numbers in his first year, while the kid who was considered talented but raw and small needed more time and is not putting up as good of numbers.
And for whatever silly comparisons like this are worth, given the different time periods, the only ROOKIES other than Trae to put up 16 ppg, 7.2 apg, and 3.1 rbg, are:
Jordan, Robertson, Magic, Chris Paul, Damon Stoudamire, Iverson, and Wall. All of them played 6 1/2 to 10 more minutes per game than Trae.
We got a good one too, and an extra first round pick, to go along with two other young studs and Collins and Huerter. And he is already showing signs of getting better, too.
