  1. That has been my suspicion with the internet gambling laws all along. From what I heard all the major Vegas casinos wanted to have an online presence and lobbied the Bush administration to crack down on poker sites and online bookies to squash their competition to clear the way. That was back in 2006 or 2005.
  2. It was pretty obvious the whole thing was GOP astro-turfing when dudes like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck were endorsing the rallies/conventions and showing up at events. And that was pretty early in the Tea Party "movement" (right after Obama took office). I'm not sure the GOP hijacked the Tea Party so much as they were the ones behind it from the start.
  3. I was being sarcastic. I think it's a waste of resources and $ to go after something as silly as gambling (which should be legal anyway), when there are so many other problems going on right now.
  4. http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/deal-state-leaders-vow-1120234.html YES!! The scourge of people playing poker on the internet has crippled our state for far too long! FINALLY a governor with the balls to tackle the big issues!
  5. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your post was actually kind of funny the first time I heard it 7 years ago.
  6. I'm telling you right now: if we invade the USA, we'll be stuck there for YEARS. We might NEVER get out of there. F'ing quagmire, I tell ya...
  7. I'd sneer and holler, "I AM THE LAW!" and then shoot him between the eyes right there in the courtroom.
  8. Watch how the whole scene is one camera shot. Amazing cinematography. "Children of Men" had a couple scenes like this.
  9. I knew Peerless Price was going to suck from the moment we got him. I knew Matt Schaub was going to be a starter in the NFL from one of his first preseason games.
  10. I miss arguing with Snake. Now all we got is Steve and Julian. Both suck compared to Snake.
  11. I bet if you didn't make it repeatedly, incessantly, compulsively clear that you hate my country and claim to identify with France or Brazil or whatever shithole your parents came from, I'd call you an American. And are you sure it's not because I'm a dumb southern racist? Surprised you let that ship sail.
  12. Oh look, a little African pygmy troll acting contrarian to get attention... Obviously, there's a healthy medium between "isolationist" and "interventionist". I think that's what Ron Paul is advocating.
  13. Wrong again. China leads the world in food output. The reason they import food from the US is because there's nearly 2 billion Chinese, and their farms are not nearly as efficient or productive as American farms, acre for acre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agriculture_in_China The rest of your garbage response isn't even worth a reply. Only a racist, tribalistic simp like yourself would think it's about killing Muslims. Hint: It's about money, like EVERYTHING ELSE. The United States is the most charitable, generous, giving nation in the history of the world. Sorry if that makes you butthurt.
  14. It's tacky and embarrassing. Get rid of it.
  15. The US has given more food aid to East Africa than most of the rest of the world combined, just so you know. Over half a billion dollars so far, while China (which you have previously praised for supposedly helping Africa) has only given 14 million. From Fox News of all places (I guess patriotic self-congratulation trumps concerns over giving away US taxpayer money in this instance): http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/08/09/us-shells-out-aid-for-africa-as-china-russia-hold-back/
  16. Jon Stewart is right on the money, as usual, and I might have to create fake accounts like Steve to give extra +1's to Gritz and JDave. My thoughts exactly. And Julian- try to keep up. The "Ron Paul's a racist" thing was thoroughly debunked about 5 years ago.
  17. How do you propose we do that? Tax breaks? I think labor costs are the big problem. Americans can't compete with Third Worlders whose living costs are a tiny fraction of ours. And I'm not talking about luxuries; just the basics like rent/mortgage, groceries, gas to commute, healthcare, etc. Same argument for those who say illegal immigrants only do jobs Americans won't do- it's not that Americans won't do them, it's that Americans won't do them for that little pay. We got bills to pay, and they're higher than ever.
  18. I hope you're right. I'm just very cynical and jaded on the whole thing and have very little faith in the average American who has been brainwashed with the whole "don't throw away your vote" nonsense.
  19. Rick Perry calls global warming "phony mess". http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/aug/12/rick-perry-climate-sceptics-president EDIT: I didn't read the whole thing before posting it. It gets even worse-
  20. If by some miracle Ron Paul were elected POTUS, I'd give him about a week before someone shot him. He has spoken some very inconvenient truths to some very powerful entities. But it's okay, because he will NEVER be prez. The corporate media has learned that if you repeatedly call someone "crazy" or a "loon" long enough, people will start to repeat it for you.
