I wouldn’t mind repeat of what they did to Arizona in week 2 after the *** Whooping in Pittsburgh in 2010.

Since 1978, I can count on 1 hand the games I've missed, either in person or on TV. 2016 was supernatural! Our current team truly has a chance and that's all we can ask for. I fully expect us to win Sunday!
    GO FALCONS!!!!

The big media pregame story-line will be how bad the Falcons looked vs Vikings and how there's already talk about Quinn's job, blah blah blah.
Even though it's only Week 2, there's going to be a helluva lot of pressure on Quinn and every coach and player on the team. Hope they shock the world, come out swinging and put on a real offensive and defensive show on the national stage. It would do them and Falcon Nation a world of good.

I like Deion! I'd like him more if he would have re-signed with us after his rookie contract and helped win a championship!!

it's bout time for that luck pendulum to swing our way. when Edelman made that catch after the ball SOMEHOW didn't touch the ground in the SB, I knew the game was a wrap but I also knew that lightning don't strike twice. luck and the football gods have been cruel to us the past 2 seasons and it's time for them to settle up

Don't think they count against the cap. There's no limit to what you can pay a PS guy, but haven't seen much mote than a 50,000 bonus, which as my dad always says, is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but isn't much when thinking about NFL salaries.

Edit: I was wrong, they count against the cap.

It's not new. It's been in since the 2011 CBA and it does count against the salary cap.

    Agree with all those.
One thing I have noticed the last two weeks are the falcons lining up and running out of power sets in obvious running situations...and doing well no matter who is in there. Not busting big runs, but grinding out those 5-7 yard runs that end in punishment. That is something we have long lacked, something that can win us a SB like the Patriots ran the ball to win last year.
    To add:
The entire first string dline played well...but Takk and Jack dominated consistantly. Takk just plain showed out. This really bodes well for the season. Imagine a passing down with Takk, Jack, Grady, Beasely. Add Claiborne to that mix for a potent nickel pass rush.
I thought Grace shined once again in spots, and looks to be someone who eventually could be insurance if Debo goes down.
While Takk and Jack shined, I think the entire defense played well this game, even the deep back ups. The difference since Quinn took over the defense is apparent. His Plan "D" has started to bear fruit after several seasons in the bottom levels of the depth chart, especially on defense.
Also, Quinn has took over the defense right when the young core he hand picked, Debo, Neal, Grady, etc has got some years in and are now ready to peak. At the same time.
In 2016, the falcons should've won the SB with less talent, less years under Quinn, less experience, and a lesser coaching staff.
This season just may be special. While the defense looks like it may be peaking now....The offense has to be improved between the oline improvements and the change at cordinator. Between Koetter's skill with the passing game, Mularkeys skill in the running game, and both having years of experience....no offense to Sark but the offensive game planning and play calling will be much improved.
It just might be our year.

No, you said preseason wins don't matter.
So, you do understand that Quinn isn't trying to win games. Because that means the other questions you asked aren't valid.
If the Falcons were actively trying to win games and losing, it would say something about the scouts, depth , coaching and luck, as it is it doesn't.
There is some luck involved- if Benkert  stays healthy, good chance the Falcons win at least 2 games this preseason.

Interesting article in the local "rag" today by Sierra Webster. I knew that our short yardage offense wasn't stout the last 3 seasons, but I didn't realize that the Falcons couldn't convert on 3rd and 1 seven times in Super Bowl LI. Forgive me for saying that things might have been different if we had converted just 1 of those! Hopefully, it's now fixed.
    GO FALCONS!!!!

Just reading the thread title made me throw up in my mouth.
The things that plague this franchise:
    1.  Pass rush
    2.  Short yardage
Seems like it's been an issue since forever...Snelling was good...Duckett was a beast...nothing since.  Would rather sneak Matt than hand the dang ball off at this point.

MarkMc44 reacted to FalconsIn2012 in How much more relaxed would the Falcons fan base be if the Falcons were to win a championship?
The easy answer is yes.  Of course we would be.
The honest answer is probably not.  We would still lament the lost opportunity to go back-to-back In 2017.  We would still be ticked at 7-9 last year....and we would still be thinking how much sweeter another title would be in 2019.  How Ryan’s legacy would be cemented as top 5 All Time with 2 Lombardi’s...how he should have 3 if HD doesn’t fall over the 25 yard line.
We are humans and by definition never satisfied

I gotta tell you Tim, I think Lindstrom is going to be an exceptional player and I think it could be as soon as game 1 of regular season. He seems to have it all.
Talk about taking a position of utter weakness and flipping it into a strength. We saw that happen in 2016 when we signed Alex Mack. It was the Mack signing that largely inspired my Falcons will have a prolific offense thread. Well, I believe the players we added to OL this year are going to have similar results.
It’s huge, it’s massive, I don’t think a lot of fans realize to what degree it is going to help us, especially against the division and playoff teams.....this is where our previous weaknesses on OL would show up. Think about 2017 playoff game against Philly. Our OL isn’t going to get pushed around like that anymore.

This confirms what I thought when we signed Ra’Shede Hageman one week before draft.
I speculated once we signed Hageman we were going OL with our top pick, and that it wouldn’t surprise me if we drafted 2 OL with our top 3 picks.
