  1. What ever happened to the whole Stephen Nicholas segments. I wouldn't mind him filling that role again.
  2. Well hold on to the belief that this is how teams stack up next year but be warned you also thought the Saint's stacked higher than us at the start of this last season. Some times it takes a couple of burns before people stop playing with fire I suppose.
  3. I agree with the no state income tax part but when you make that kinda money it doesn't really matter. To add....The only thing that has any difference to the falcons is that he will be away from his family during the season. That should in theory make life a bit more difficult and hopefully translate into a more stressful season. So maybe it benefits us.
  4. Seymour was the only reason for a strong pass rush in my opinion for the raiders. His weight hasn't shown him ineffective. Also if he can't play DE then why are so many people concerned about how much he would ask. Granted I doubt we pull the trigger on him but he is a great veteran and ties to georgia so he would complement the team very well. Everyone wants a super bowl but forgets that like the patriots and many others they bring in aging players to help make that next step even if they are around for only a few years more. I don't understand why so many knock a proven veteran but then you see posts about how we need vets. Nobody knocks Tony Gonzalez and he is well up there in age.
  5. I kinda agree with that but I also think despite some opinions in the community that Mularkey is viewed very highly by the rest of the league. It will suck to lose him if he gets the job but I have faith that the front office will make a good decision on who should fill that vacancy in the event he gets the promotion.
  6. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have interviewed their first candidates outside of the organization in their search for a new head coach, talking to Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. The Titans confirmed Friday that they completed formal interviews with Mularkey and Fewell. The team said it will not comment further until it has concluded the search to replace Jeff Fisher. Mularkey is the first candidate interviewed by Tennessee who has been a head coach. By interviewing Fewell, the Titans satisfied the NFL's "Rooney Rule" by talking with a minority candidate. The Titans also have interviewed two internal candidates, offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger on Tuesday and offensive line coach Mike Munchak on Monday. Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press Well we should know within a day or two who will be offered the job I would think. Interesting though that all they had to do was satisfy the Rooney Rule to hire Munchak. So guess they are very interested in Mularkey.
  7. Kids birthday party on Sunday....with the TV on in the background Leave it up to the wife to pick sunday to do the party. /sigh
  8. Looked at titans rapid reports and found this. Feb. 4, 2011 10:53 a.m. - The choice for a head coach boils down to philosophy: Do you promote from within, which the franchise has done often, or roll the dice on an outsider? The outside candidates, Falcons OC Mike Mularkey and Giants DC Perry Fewell, would have to hit their interviews out of the park to land the job. Titans RapidReports
  9. WR Anty Fantuz, the CFL's leader in receiving yards last year (1,380) with Saskatchewan, was signed to a reserve/future contract Friday.
  10. Nothing really interesting but it's funny though. TD seems so involved. I don't think I could name another team where you will see the GM and coach together as much. Plus I think I can only name two other GMs but you don't see them on TV. Parcells and Holmgren. TD did say again they are going to carry on with Free Agency as usual.
  11. This is all I've seen from CBS rapid reports on falcons. 44 minutes ago - During the season, offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey said he would like another chance at a head coaching job. While he doesn't appear to be the favorite for the Titans job, there's a good chance he'd take it if offered. Falcons RapidReports
  12. You speaking of Ted? I think he's been done
  13. I don't think we have really tried anything similar to the Giants D. I tried to find some videos on the DE's standing up and being out of place on the line but I could only come up with this one for now. Crappy video but you can see the point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JkhOs9-OKo

  16. Eh it's just off season speculation and not much else to talk about. I for one don't hate the man but it's just a thread about possibilities if he does exodus. True about the Norwood part though. I can't say the people mentioned here though wouldn't be nice to have either though.
  17. Not yet but it could happen. I think a lot in the business view him as a very good HC candidate so just an idea of who would be out there in the event he does leave despite how many on the boards feel about him.
  18. Just me or does anyone else notice he was talking to an Atlanta based radio station. That would be why talk of the falcons came up but yeah the part about winning could mean he wants to part ways.
  19. Yeah I like the guy and loved when he made that long field goal for us in the day but that's money needed to improve positions that average more time on the field.
  20. I'm sorry that did look wrong....was meaning his worth. He was 11th highest paid player on our team at $2,490,280 in 2009 so it went up just a bit in 2010. That's what I was referring to as getting up there. Might be a better idea to replace than resign but that's on the team.
  21. Most definitely all that has to be taken into consideration. Grimes I feel will come back with a nice tasty salary addition. Nicholas may have been drafted under Paterno but I think the staff likes him enough to keep him. Plus Robert James was given a 2 year deal at linebacker for us after the postseason not that he has shown us anything but the staff thinks something of him. I can't see our line getting dismantled and TD has been very hush about it and saying it's taken care of. I think for Peterson truly it's gonna be up to him if he wants to retire cause I can see him signing for Smitty even at a big pay cut. Bryant deserves a job even at his age. Koenan is getting up there and maybe they resign or choose to look late rounds in the draft or undrafted players. No hitting on Koenan cause he's got a boot but punters other than the raiders are usually pretty easily replaced. If I missed anyone I'm sorry but I think we will not be seeing a big exodus on the team especially when the players know they are so close to doing something truly great here. Not to get into a different subject but the new CBA whenever it hits will change salaries. Biggest thing is owners saying the increased player salaries shrink the revenue so not sure how that will affect what cap room we have left to sign FA's.
  22. My main question is who can be easily replaced. Peterson or Abraham? Like you said Nicholas is solid. We don't have a solid after Bierman on the end position. I agree we will not be able to get a great end in the draft especially with the 27th pick and few ever really make a difference out the box anyways but at same time linebackers can usually be picked up in second round and down that will make an impact. I just can't see not picking up a WR with the first pick since there are quite a few good ones that should not be around when we pick in round 2. Plus a lot was said on the radio about being explosive on offense yesterday. So maybe a DE will be are attempt in the free agency and linebacker in second round. Just a thought.
  23. Giants run a 4-3 and utilize their ends very effectively in the same manner talked about. They even have the ends blend in with linebacker blitz schemes to disguise who will be rushing.
  24. I agree so much. Just to point out a team that does this a ton. The Giants love to move the ends around to disguise them as much as possible and get a huge burst as the ball is snapped. I never thought about that until you just said that. +1
