More proof the Ryan haters are full of poop.
Unlike them, the man is a machine and he never gives up.
Much respect to our QB for taking a pounding trying to bring Atlanta some wins during a difficult season.

You want them to lose? Their jobs are on the line. They aren't going to lay down. Sorry the draft order isn't going to go the way you want, but losing creates losing culture. Starting 1-7 and finishing 2-14 is what quitters and teams from Ohio do. I'm extremely proud that they finished strong and showed some **** back bone. I wanted to be in position to take the best players too but I'll never be upset that my team performed well even if it didn't matter anymore because it matters to me.

Winning is never worse than losing. Ever.
Being a fan is about cheering for wins, even when it’s meaningless to anybody else.  The uncertainty of every play, every game, and every season is why we have hope. If the only thing that brings you hope and satisfaction when watching football is winning the trophy every year, then you should’ve been a Patriots fan the last 20 years.
They get to brag about winning, but they have zero enjoyment for the game. My customers in Boston talk about what big fans they are, but if I bring it up, they’ll say, oh I didn’t watch them this week.  They won so much they don’t care.
That’s not being a fan. It’s tantamount to watching reruns of Gilligan’s  Island.
So, as someone who lived through some truly bad Falcons football through the 70s, 80s and up to SB33 year, I say love every win, regardless of the overall record. That’s where you find hope for 2020.

Let's talk prime beef. (Now everyone is full of turkey.) Why, you ask yourself, has this man taken the time to write this up on Christmas day? Because sadly some of us work in the Hotel industry and are heading into day 10 of 13 straight. (I'm not complaining, but I am taking the time to write this whilst at work..!). On an important side-note, I found the results of interesting. And if you humor me, the below may also interest you.
    Back to the story...
It is still WAY too early, but unlike those snap draft grade articles as the confetti settles, we have all learnt some stuff. And what we have learned is interesting...

Heavily scrutinized, TD picked up 2 OL in the first round.
Ignoring the Defensive players on offer as well as Draftnik opinion(to the behest of his wisest advisors, TATF), we doubled down in the trenches? Experts slammed us, saying wrong trench and WTF is a MCGARY, but I prefer the facts ever since Mayock got a real job.
It turns out, some of us were (As usual) hilariously wrong, some of us were proven right.
I've looked predominatly at the first few rounds to review each player's rough progress so far.
Before we get to the individual player, I will happily admit my personal vote was very much in the 'take the right DT or DE at 14 camp. I was intrigued (but scared of) Oliver, wanted big Dexter, and definitely wanted Bosa like everyone else.
At the end of draft night I was actually very satisfied (after I googled who McGary was). I think that aside from a few obvious exceptions, it couldn't have gone much better. It certainly gets ugly for a few teams with similar needs.

    Defensive Tackles
#3 - Quinnen - Has been 'fine'. Solid starter thus far, not the dominant force he was in college. But he will come good over time one supposes. Re-draft as it stands? You take Dexter Lawrence.
#9 - Ed Oliver - The next coming of reggie white and warren sapp according to many, he has been selected to the all-rookie team after being benched mid-season. Then went on a tear and now has 5 sacks to his name.
Not bad at all. Worrying, but not bad. If he keeps his head screwed on, worth the draft spot for sure, and nice to see smaller school and undersized guys work out.
#13 Christian Wilkins - Scored a sweet 'big man with football' TD, otherwise pretty quiet on the stat sheet if you care about sacks. Looks like a pick that will get better as he goes. Solid pick, not spectacular.
#17 Dexter Lawrence - Hoss. Another TATF favorite which looks like good taste shown. F**K. That's the only one that hurts.
#19 Jeffrey Simmons - is what we thought he could be. An impact player, but only after he got healthy. Great pick if you can afford to wait. Which is exactly as it has played out. It's the Titans, they can wait. Not exactly dusting the trophy cabinet in preparation just yet.
#29 Jery Tillery - Has 2 sacks, played 30-ish % of snaps. Not exactly 1st round impact.
#58 Trysten Hill - 5 total comb. tackles. Dallas gon' Dallas
Conclusion - No one set the world on fire. But again, no one residing in Bustville, Ten. just yet. As it stands you take Dex, Simmons, Oliver then you can argue about upside. But big TATF favorites Quinnen and Wilkins have been 'meh'. If you hate TD, quietly ask yourself who would've taken at 14 from those available. Unless you loved Dexter like me, it's a pretty annoying question to answer..
    DE
#2 Nick Bosa - Hoss. End of story.
#4 Clelin Ferrell - Great teammate by all accounts, but getting outperfomed by Maxx Crosby who was
selectecd more than 100+ picks later. Not worth the draft stock, yet.
#7 Josh Allen - Another great pick taken out of our reach.
#12 Rashan Gary - Pretty quiet rookie season, but promise is there. will he deliver on it?
#16 Brian Burns - Goes in spurts, had some nice moments and some sacks, weirdly not getting much playing time as well as playing some gunner, of all things.
#29 LJ Collier - Looking like a bust so far. Zero starts and not worrying the stat sheet
#58 Chase Winovich - I'm 99% sure that draft pick is wrong, but give me a break. I lose energy when thinking about the patriots having picked up yet another 'just a football player' type that will invariably work out for him and the Pats until it's FA time... where of course another team will pay vastly over what he is worth, only for him to return to Boston richer and then on a small team-friendly salary. I'm not bitter. But yea, he's been solid.
    #65 Zach Allen - Hit IR mid-november. 6 tot tackles 0 sacks
If you like raw sack numbers, the top 8 rookie sack-masters
    Josh Allen - 10
    Bosa - 9
    Maxx Crosby - 8.5
    Brian Burns - 6.5
    Chase Winovich - 5.5
    Ed Oliver - 5
    Sweat - 5
    Ferrell - 4.5
    Notables
    Gary -2
    Cominksy - A mighty 0.5 sacks.
Conclusion - Cream at the top. Bosa and Allen are serious players. But we come back to the point of 'ok then, who would you have taken at 14 or 31 from those available. Maxx Crosby? No sir.
    OT
#11 Jonah Williams  - IR in pre season. Was cleared 13 days ago to return to practice. Push.
#22 Andre Dillard - Has been absolute trash, has been benched. Oops.
#23 Tytus Howard - Headed to IR with an MCL, but was looking pretty promising (but raw) at RT. Good pick.
    Good pick comparatively, for sure.
#31 Kaleb - Could be seen superficially as trash. Not helped by terrible guard play next to him. Showing big signs as a pair with Lindstrom... Let's see. Personally I still dig the pick, big time.
#35 Jawaan Taylor - Hasn't given up a sack since week 6. Played every snap this year. Rough start
#37 Greg Little - Landed on IR mid December. Played 4 games, ankle and concussion issues. Not great upside seen, either.
#38 Cody Ford - Struggled on the right side with footwork and speed. Was talke about mid first round. Bullet dodged. Had some big fans here.
#41 Dalton Risner - Looking very good on an otherwise trash line.
Conclusion - The only OT you could argue has objectively had a better season and has more upside may be Tytus Howard. Maybe Jawaan Taylor turns out to be better. Risner may well be the best OL taken, but the Broncos line hasn't been good. I don't watch them enough to know, if I'm honest.
    OG
#14 Lindstron - Everything he has shown us when not injured has been exciting. If you haven't seen his 'finish him' block, you owe it to yourself, just to get hyped about the right side of our line for the next 5-10.
#44 Elgton Jenkins - Had himself a great rookie campaign as a part of GB's better lines in recent history.
#55 Max Scharping - Looking like a nice pick. He has settled at right guard, and is apparently a real swiss-army knife in the making. Solid pick.
Conclusion - Good picks all round. If you were a TD hater, you could argue we could've gone in a different direction and held onto our draft stock. That plan is great if you guarantee Jenkins has the year he has had. And we don't know everything about Lindstrom yet. What we do know, I like. A lot.

#18 Garrett Bradbury - Inconsistent AF and has been outshone massively (annoyingly) by the kid the Saints picked up at #48, Erik McCoy
(Sidenote, CB class is looking pretty trash. A lot of wasted picks high up in the CB department)
    Final thoughts....
I'll say it's up to you to interpret how we did, or how 'player X is gonna by a 2nd year monster'. But looking at it objectively, I draw Jerry Springer-style Final thoughts:
We were right to take a strong look at DE. Safe to say it would have been worth moving up for Bosa. We'd be calling for blood if we had traded up for Quinnen and he turned in the season he has had so far. The OG market looks like a small but good group. Heled by Scharping moving to G. The OT market was bandit country. Jury is still out on Williams, but essentially Kaleb has outplayed every T selected. Arguments could be made for Tytus Howard and Jawan Taylor that I wouldn't hate. But safe to say it wasn't a bad pick. It looks like we picked up the best G in the draft. But again, two good ones selected in the 2nd round, too. If we played everyone's captain hindsight game, the only Defensive linemen available who I would've taken over Lindstrom is literally Dexter Lawrence. Tell me I'm wrong If we continue to play the game, I ask you the same question at #31... My answer? No-one. In TD I trust. Still, woulda been cool to have gotten Bosa, Dexter & Josh Allen. It would also be great to live in the land of make-believe. In the land of reality, I think our GM did a pretty F'n good job. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals,

Considering the huge drop-off of defensive talent available after the first rd of the last draft, i'd say we did pretty good.
Top 3 - 4 guys were gone, and in hindsight, only Bosa would have been worth a trade-up.
It was smart to go OL, considering the alternatives.
    Upcoming draft is deeper.

Arthur Blank is the one in Atlanta that makes the decisions on firing head coaches.
Thomas Dimitroff must be doing something right as GM of the Atlanta Falcons. Here is a fact for you, here are the best records in the NFL since 2008, this includes the playoffs.
    Patriots = 162-52 (.757) Steelers = 131-73-1 (.641) Saints = 127-76 (.626) Packers = 127-78-2 (.618) Ravens = 127-80 (.614) Seahawks = 118-87-1 (.575) Colts = 114-90 (.559) Eagles = 112-89-1 (.557) Falcons = 112-89 (.557) Broncos = 110-91 (.547) Cowboys = 108-90 (.545) Vikings = 105-91-2 (.535) Chiefs = 103-96 (.518) Texans = 102-97 (.513) Panthers = 101-97-1 (.510) Chargers = 101-97 (.510) Cardinals = 99-99-2 (.500) 49ers = 99-99-1 (.500) Giants = 94-103 (.477) Bears = 92-102 (.474) Bengals = 90-104-3 (.464) Titans = 90-104 (.464) Jets = 89-108 (.452) Dolphins = 87-106 (.451) Bills = 84-108 (.438) Rams = 77-117-1 (.397) Redskins = 74-118-1 (.386) Lions = 74-119-1 (.384) Raiders = 73-119 (.380) Buccaneers = 71-120 (.372) Jaguars = 64-130 (.330) Browns = 51-139-1 (.270) Link
The Falcons have been the 9th most successful NFL team since Dimitroff has been here. That's pretty good for a guy who folks claim is absolutely horrendous at his job and that they could do so much better.

Hindsight. Go back and look at March when the Falcons signed those guys, many on here called those signings solid. But now that they didn't work out they were terrible signings. Funny how that works.
