Apples and Oranges.  DQ would never have gone for it on 4th and 9 (the first time)  for real.  It was just to see how they handled it.
Tons of penalties on defense, and a lot that thwarted getting to 4th down - that's what rookies do
It's all about evaluation.  There were some good things that happened last night.
    I have no complaints.......

Never mistake the presence of trouble to mean the absence of God.   He is an ever present help in TROUBLE!  (Ps. 46:1).
    Blessings..........!!

Koetter was doing fine here, as I remember, and was hired away by TB.  He wasn't let go b/c he wasn't getting the job done.  And......to restate the obvious, his scheme is familiar to MR, so that is a plus.

I'm not one to jump on the "Fire Everybody" bandwagon.  The coaches don't play the game....I get it.  Yesterday there were a lot of drops, bad blocking and stupid penalties.   But then I see that McCarthy got axed after GB got beat by............Arizona no less...!    So, I'm starting to think maybe it's time for a change in leadership.   Starting with CLE, and on to BAL, it looked like poor preparation, lack of enthusiasm and sorry game planning.  Granted, this is coming from someone with not a lot of football acumen, but even so, maybe it's -
    "Time for a cool change.........."

I agree with a lot of what you said.
Anyone who is honest will admit to having struggles in their own life....and as far as professional athletes, because of the sports illustration I have done in the past I have been fortunate enough to meet a few of them.
When Turner Sports and the Hawks hired me to paint Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's retirement painting when his farewell tour hit Atlanta I got to meet him before the game. I was warned about Kareem.
    "Kareem's very standoffish Tim."
"He might not even speak to you."....etc. etc.
I haven't met a nicer professional athlete. He told me how much he loved the painting, took several pictures with me, answered every question I asked with a smile on his face and shook my hand.
A lot of them are just people with the same issues the rest of us have, just magnified.
Lots of violence in my family though, so I tend to be judgmental when I hear about someone hurting kids or women. I guess that (forgiveness) is something I need to work on.
