  1. I agree that most HBO series' have a lot sex; however in the books, Martin writes/describes pretty in depth sex throughout the series. So in the instance of Game of Thrones, HBO is following Martin's work. Also the whole A Song of Ice and Fire series evolves around war, violence, and turmoil. I enjoy HBO, Showtime, etc. series more because they are allowed to have more sex, violence, and leeway then network TV, but to each his own in this case.
  2. I literally just got the book like 3 days ago.It is paperback, but it is a nice size. The size is: 9.2 x 6.1 x 1.3 inches. This is the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/Game-Thrones-Song-Fire-Book/dp/0553386794/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1310076362&sr=8-2 It has the maps in it. It was like $17.99 at Borders. On another note, I think someone said early it is a lot easier to learn the characters names' when reading the book. They were so right. I am about 50 pages into the book, and if you loved the series, I highly suggest getting the book.
  3. I felt the same way, I was in group "D" so I was towards the front, but the congestion and people stopping on the left side was horrible. I got 54:24 as my official time, pretty mad because I trained for it this year. The last two years I got 52 and 51 something minutes, so pretty disappointed in this year's time. Anyway, good luck with your training for the marathon and the marathon itself!
  4. How did you do in the Peachtree, JDave? My goal this year was to break 50 minutes, but I got around 52 minutes. I heard some people saying at the start of the race this year, it was the hottest temperature at start time in 10 years.
  5. It just gets better and better
  6. I feel like Tyrion knew what is going on when he was eating breakfast with Jamie and Cersie in Winterfell. I just got that vibe from that scene in the first episode. Also, guess she really "loves" her brothers
  7. Just got around to watching the final episode. All I have to say is wow! Here are some of my thoughts. Just going to suck waiting for next season now... I never buy TV series seasons, but I might have to break that trend and get this season on Blu-ray when it comes out. It is just too good not to watch again :P
  8. Like others have said, I am going along with the thinking that HBO didn't want to invest a lot of money into a first season of a show in case it didn't do well. I hope this is true and now that it had a successful first season, HBO will ante up and put some big battle scenes in the rest of the seasons.
  9. Thanks for clearing that up for me
  10. What a great episode last night! Got a question. John Snow received the sword from the night watch captain dude, and the night watch captain said his son's name (can't remember the name he said) then went on to say the son betrayed the family name. Is his son the guy that got exiled for selling slaves and is now hanging out with the Dothrakies?
  11. Check your Private Messages @ATL Brave: Thanks, I couldn't find anything about what the second season will be based on. All te articles just state that HBO has renewed Game of Thrones for a second season. So I am just assuming a second season would be the second book.
  12. I read that HBO renewed it for a second season. So does that mean they will be going on to the second book for the second season?
  13. I just caught up on this series, and I have to say it is really really good. I was hesitant of watching it when I first heard about it, but my friend said give it a try. I have to say it I am hooked. If you haven't watched it give it to episode 3 and you will be hooked. It is a good series and it is also holding me over till Boardwalk/Entourage starts back up on HBO.
