  1. Of course Elway thinks that... he had a defense that was historic last season....went out and got Talib and Ware... So basically..... it's either a franchise qb or a historic defense. Historic defense normally always wins, but it's a lot harder to build a historically great defense, opposed to getting a franchise qb.
  2. I take it that the Panthers' Qb consumes a lot of your minds.
  3. Eli has two SB MVPs.....and averages more TDs/yards a year than Big Ben. You don't see anyone blindly hyping him up as a top 3 Qb. lol
  4. Doesn't Cam hold the Falcons franchise record for most passing yards allowed in the 1st quarter? Wasn't it like 250 or something?
  5. Big Ben has averaged 23 TDs and 3600 total yards a year.. ... why is he constantly hyped up as a top 3 qb?
  6. 38-0 two weeks prior is why that second match-up was a trap game. When a team is 13-0 or 14-0 going against a team they just crushed 38-0 two weeks earlier... there is bound to be some overconfidence and not really taking their opponent too seriously. The Panthers just seemed like they severely underestimated the Falcons, and it didn't help that Ginn went down on the first play of the game, Stewart missed the game and Cam was not practicing that week, due to spending all his time in an Atlanta hospital, waiting for his baby to be born. The Falcons took advantage of the situation, it was a trap game, but it doesn't matter. A win is a win.
  7. Fluke or not......he is one of only three active QBs in the nfl with a league MVP award.
  8. Sounds about right. Top 15 Qb.. Top 15 secondary. Top 18 WR corp, Julio being probably the best WR in the NFL is what brings the other WRs up from 30th, to 18th. Top 20 RB unit. The Falcons do have potential, They have quite a few young players whose development over the next two or three years, can make or break the Falcons. So while some of you may feel the list is harsh, It's fair, until the Falcons prove otherwise. Same thing with the Saints.
  9. The rivalry sure is feeling like it did back in the old days.. Both the Saints and Falcons competing to not finish last in the division, while watching the same team win the division year after year after year.
  10. Julio is better than Brown. Brown has a much, much better qb situation. Guys like Julio, AJ Green, (Before his suspensions) Josh Gordon, Hopkins are special WRs. These WRs deal with "eh" qb situations year after year, but they still produce.
  11. He wants to only go to a contender. Basically he is waiting around to see if the Pats, Panthers, Seahawks, Packers or Steelers want to sign him, imo. He may be in for a long wait. I doubt any of those teams are willing to put up with his attitude. He was complaining last season when his team was 5-0. That can't be too appealing to a lot of teams, even if he agrees to sign for the vet min.
  12. Since someone brought Kaep up. Kaep got the short end of the stick in San Fran. He was extremely efficient until the internal drama started affecting the team. It wasn't just him that was affected, it seemed like that entire team was just standing in a corner, waiting for their mommy and daddy to stop fighting. Still can't believe the higher ups on that team let petty feuds destroy what was considered by many as the most talented team in the NFL.
  13. You don't get why people are bragging about the reigning MVP?
  14. Ryan had a good rookie season. Turner had an absolutely AMAZING season. 1700 rushing yards and 18 TD. I would laugh in the face of anyone that tried to convince me that Ryan had a better season in '08 than
  15. '08 Turner had 1700 rushing yards and 18 TDs. '08 Ryan had 3,440 yards and 17 total TDs. Something seems seriously off if the Falcons '08 pass game is considered better/ranked higher than the Falcons '08 run game. '08 Turner was the man.
  16. That's the other scary part about them. Since coming into the NFL, Cam has averaged 32TD/yr. He is the reigning MVP and the guy's ceiling still isn't even in sight.. he is still evolving and getting even better.
  17. The receiving corp of White, Julio, HD and Tony G.. was a lot better than the receiving corp of Julio, Sanu, Hardy and Tamme. White was a #1 WR still in his prime in '12, and Julio was a legit #1 WR playing as a #2 WR. Matt Ryan in '12 was more sure of himself and confident. He was a young buck, on top of the world. As we enter the '16 season, the Falcons offense will probably still be the same basic "derrrr, just feed the ball to Julio" style of offense it was last season. Last season, Matt Ryan looked like a one read and throw Qb. That is what Shanahan did to a franchise qb. He took a qb that liked to spread it around, and turned him into a one read and throw qb. The Falcons may have a better defense than they had in '12. They may not be a top 5 scoring defense like the unit in '12, but they may have more turnovers and be top 10 in yards. I can't envision their offense being as good as it was in '12 though. It won't be as turnover prone as it was last season, but their '12 offense was special, and was stacked.
  18. Teddy averages around 1 TD a game. Their entire offense revolves around and is dependent on .......a 31 year old RB. As far as the Panthers.. it is basically set in stone. They won the division in b2b2b seasons. They've won it with Steve Smith as their #1 WR in '13, with Kelvin as their #1 WR in '14 and with Ginn as their #1 WR in '15. Kuechly has the processing speed of Peyton Manning when it comes to figuring out what opposing teams are going to do before the ball is snapped. .... Since the Panthers drafted him, all of our qbs have a losing record against him. It is hard to counter someone that will easily and accurately counter our counters.
  19. If the Panthers losing one regular season game to the Falcons has the possibility of ruining the Panthers the following season. What does getting swept by us and the Bucs lead to?
  20. The Panthers being at the top of the division is probably the only thing that is set in stone. Whichever team finishes 2nd in the division may very well get a WC spot. The NFCW is the only NFC division that has a guaranteed WC team seemingly every year. Can't see a WC coming from the NFCE, and with the Packers set to win their division, with Nelson coming back, I can't see the Vikings earning a WC spot. Teddy plays it way too safe...and his lack of scoring ability will hurt their WC chances this season. So I believe our division gets a WC spot this year.
  21. Top 10 will most likely be, in no order.. Cam, Watt, Brown, Brady, Rodgers, Kuechly, Gronk, Miller, Donald, Norman.
  22. Since someone brought up Cam.. Interesting side note. There are only three league MVP Qbs in the NFL right now. Brady, Cam and Rodgers.
  23. Basically. Brees - OPOYx2, SB MVP, Most accurate Qb in nfl history. Wilson, has the highest career passer rating in NFL history. Cam is a league MVP. To see a Falcons fan, proudly claiming to take Ryan over those qbs, is as facepalm worthy as seeing a Browns or Texans fan proudly claiming they would take RG3 or Brock over Ryan. Even if they are in the safety of their team(s) forums, (Texans or Browns), they would need to be told...... that their opinion borders on insanity and there is no way, on this planet, that Brock or RG3 are better than Ryan. Cam, Wilson, Rodgers, Carr...... I would gladly take those qbs over current Brees. It's not so much an insult to Brees as it is a realistic outlook on his age, and Cam, Wilson and Rodgers are all younger and currently better than him, and Carr is up-and-coming superstar. As far as Big Ben >>>>>>>>>>>Ryan.. Not sold on that. Big Ben has a ton of weapons. His offense is stacked. We saw in '12 that Ryan can put up some impressive numbers also with a stacked offense. I believe Ryan would look every bit as good as Big Ben looks, if he had been in that Steelers offense the last two years. Without a plethora of weapons, Big Ben looks sub-ordinary.
  24. So what you're saying is........ You'd only take Brady and Rodgers over Ryan...... implying that, in your mind, Ryan is the third best qb in the league?
