Thiccolas Cage reacted to ADAMSVILLE GYM in Javian Hawkins: "Most Talented Back On The Roster" NFL Insider Says
NFL Insider: Falcons UDFA Is The "Most Talented Back On The Roster"
Is Mike Davis really the top running back in Atlanta? One NFL insider believes he could be overtaken by a more talented back on the depth chart.   When the Atlanta Falcons signed little-known running back Javian Hawkins as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville, he wasn't seen as a player who could have an early-down role due to his size (5-9, 183 pounds).
But when you take a look at the Falcons' running back depth chart, it's easy to make a case for why he just might be the most productive runner out of the team's backfield this season. And at least one NFL analyst agrees with that opinion due to the existence of tight end Kyle Pitts.

"You won't be able to stack the box against the Falcons - and I mean ever, under any circumstances - with Kyle Pitts in the slot (or out wide, whatever)," Thor Nystrom of NBC Sports Edge said when discussing how the Falcons offense will "be much more pass-heavy" under new head coach Arthur Smith than his Tennessee Titans-led offense was last season.
Norstrom added this nugget: "Which plays to the game of the most talented back on the roster — Javian Hawkins."
Hawkins, 21, currently sits behind former Carolina Panthers back Mike Davis and 2019 fifth-rounder Qadree Ollison on the depth chart. Veteran Cordarrelle Patterson lurks as a wide receiver/running back hybrid and will primarily be used on special teams.
If there's a guy looking to win a job in camp, Hawkins might have one of the easier chances in the backfield to stake claim to this summer.

Hawkins elected to sit out of the COVID-shortened season after playing eight games in 2020. He led the Cardinals backfield with 822 yards on the ground to go along with seven touchdowns. In 2019, he rushed for a school-record 1,525 yards on 264 carries and had nine touchdowns.
This is a position battle to watch when camp kicks off at the end of the month. Hawkins, for starters, doesn't need to be the "best runner'' in camp. First, he just needs to catch the eye of his bosses.

Team says they aren't rebuilding but are sitting on about 8 mil cap with a bad secondary, thin Dline and sketchy Oline.
idk what they are waiting on.

Thiccolas Cage reacted to Falcons Fan MVP in Any chance Filepe Franks will be the Falcons future QB?
How do you guys feel about the possibility of Fellipe Franks being our quarterback of the future? He will have Matt Ryan and Arthur Smith to learn from for at least another 3 years. Unless he gets cut.
I've heard Franks could be a gem. That would be awesome if the Falcons could find a franchise QB without giving up a high round draft pick.
Is there anyone on here that thinks Franks has a strong potential to be the Falcons QB of the future by 2024-2025 ish?

Every year there are teams, they are all down on , and don't see them getting any better, but they do ...
There is always that off season Superbowl contender who doesn't do anything. It all falls apart.
So I don't worry with them.

Agreed. I remember generally liking CC until the thrashing by GB in the playoffs that resulted in us drafting Julio to become more “explosive.” He was slobbering all over Rogers that game. Was very annoying. After that his voice has been cringy and he seemed to hate on Atlanta during every game he announced with us in it.
It honestly wasn’t until the SB in 2016 that he seemed to come around a little. I honestly don’t mind him as much now. Still won’t forget the clear bias in our home loss to Green Bay though. We didn’t do anything to prove him wrong that game either; just made his voice even more annoying. I think that was the first game I muted.
I haven’t watched the OP but will withhold current judgement until after doing so. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone who knows Chris Collinsworth understands that he’s never really been a supporter of our club.  Plenty of CC game coverage examples of his sheer unwillingness to be objective while calling our games.  To the point that it’s not unfair to admit that he didn’t seem to care much about making a case for the Falcons on the air.
To his credit in this interview, he definitely sharpened his harpoon & got right after the two most vulnerable Atlanta Falcon transactions.  Almost as though his view was the opposite & he was going to hit AS respectfully between the eyes with it & challenge him with it.  CC, imho,  is a pompous, politically correct & arrogant media prop whose rarely ever challenged by his colleagues.  As a Falcons fan, I have reached a point at times while he’s covering our games, where I literally have had to turn the volume off in order to keep my blood pressure down.
I say all that only to say this… The more I watch AS, the more I realize just how incredibly articulate & careful he is.  We’ve desperately needed a man of his stature here for some time.  It was masterful how he diffused those loaded questions from CC.  They were dripping with contempt IMO. And yet AS outmaneuvered Collinsworth like a champ.
Collinsworth would like nothing more than to eat our lunch in hindsight, hoping our strategy fails.  But AS crafted his remarks so well that it sort of diffused the pointed nature of why we didn’t go & do what the media *** clowns needed us to do.
Great job AS.  That was impressive sir.  Go screw yourself Chris.  You were respectful but we know who you really are bro.

Read what I just posted..  We've seen what Pees did with a similar player in Logan Ryan.  Despite what some folks are going to think because of Oliver being listed as a safety (including the author of the original article in the thread), Oliver is going to play a wildcard role in Pees defense, just like Ryan did in TN.  He is going to play CB/Nickle/S and blitz too.  He is going to be a movable chest piece to help keep offenses guessing.   Go check out Logan Ryan in 2019 under Pees.

I’ll wait until this is confirmed by coaching staff. The article’s rationale for the move is quite literally, “Look at the photo caption” stuff gets captioned incorrectly all the time.

Plus, it’s camp, coaches like mixing things up and seeing what works. This might not even be a permanent thing.

Thiccolas Cage reacted to jidady in What's your opinion of center Drew Dalman?
Everything depends on his strength. The instincts and football intelligence are there. But if he can't anchor, he'll be Peter Konz. I have high hopes that he'll do better than that. We won't know for a while, though. I think Hennessy got caught off-guard by the sheer power of NFL DTs.

I think AS was the best choice for head coach given his experience on the oline and commitment to being a no nonsense coach. It's about time we start getting some players in the trenches and I hope that it comes to fruition this year. The Era of building from the outside in has come to a close and we need to get dirty with other ball clubs.
