  1. I went to high school with him in East Cobb County, Marietta. Trust me he is the character guy TD likes. At Walton High School he was electrifying and we went to state (but lost) on his hands. It seems like he has progressed well in college too. I never thought I'd be able to say I was friends and went to school with an NFL player...let alone a Falcon!
  2. Plus keep in mind that including College, the last 3 years he has had 3 different head coaches, 3 different defensive coordinators, and 3 different d-line coaches. You cannot argue that that fact does not slow progression in it's own right. 2009 will be his first year with a consistent coaching staff since college. Look for him to flourish this year.
  3. Just out of curiosity, or maybe to stir the pot, does anyone remember the commercials of Falcons highlights where the football would be digitally replaced with a sack of bananas or other groceries like that? I think it was some time after the 1998 season and it was like a sponsorship commercial with Kroger or Publix. Now compared to those commercials, these new ones rock! At least the commercial refers to our symbol, not groceries. And the feeding pattern commercial shows team unity, not just commercials dominated by one player(vick). Although you may not like the commercials you have to agree
  4. The somewhat agreed upon initial falconry artifact is an Assyrian relief from 722 BC. That's how long we've been hunting with falcons. Although it has been stated that falconry is less affective than hunting with a gun or bow the main point is this: Analogize this to the football team from the perspective of a fan and I think you'll get what they were trying to convey.
  5. Notre Dame's backfield had the nickname "The Four Horsemen" in the 20's and that nickname doesn't really work for a D-line anyway. How About: Jerry Lewis..... The Process..... Ray Ray's Raptors..... (raptor = bird of prey) Or why not bring back "GRITZ BLITZ" from the 1977 Falcons Defense....
  6. Like when to get there, what all to bring, etc. Also I'm assuming alcohol is prohibited... Appreciated, Thank you
  7. I agree that if we was there we may have gotten him, but why complain that we didn't get him if we had no power in the matter.

  9. From TD own mouth: - DT's - 1-gap play - Based off of the TD quote and the info provided what do you think will happen with our DT rotation in 2009? (I think we'll let Moorehead or Jefferson go). Will we have Jerry there at UT as a 1-gap guy and line Lewis up at NT next to him to be a 2-gap guy with Babs rotating relief for both guys, or do you see us starting Jerry and Babs as two 1-gap guys and rotate Lewis in? ( like the quote says, if we do that we need very disciplined LB's to pick up the extra gaps). But to help out Abe don't we want Lewis next to Jerry to occupy 2-gaps? Either way i
  10. Jerry Lewis - nickname of the future heart of our defensive line!
  11. That is a great post as I was just thinking that. We've got someone who can catch the ball up the middle and take (and dish out) punishment in that respect. Plus with Ovie and Gonzo blocking for him, Turner should have a great year!
  12. 53!? Yep, I called it like a month ago through process of elimination.
  13. Draft starts Saturday at 4:00 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday What time do you think we'll make our first and second picks? (assuming there are no trades) For that matter the rest of our picks on Sunday?
  14. Great post atljbo, I went to school with this guy at Walton High School in East Cobb, Marietta. Great football player, but even back then, he knew it because he was pretty cocky. I got into a few verbal arguments with him because he was my friend, but with his size he can be intimidating. Of course when I say intimidating due to his size I'm talking about someone who will go on to the NFL and comparing him with average people, but he was the cornerstone to a pretty good offensive football team while he was in high school. Our senior year we went to state (or semi-finals, can't remember), but w
