    Lmao...
Only in Atlanta.. this has to be the dumbest **** I've read today. The Falcons don't need a rebuild and you don't get rid of a great QB, until he is done.

I know it's not the Falcons but considering it affects our season a lot I thought I should post it anyway. Sorry Mods if it's not the place.
Kamara has held out the last 3 days with unexcused absences due to wanting a new contract - reported by Schefter

Sad, but I ride every day and I'd much rather die out on my bike doing something I love than waste away in a hospital or nursing home. I bet he felt the same way. Much sympathy to his family though for sure.

I love the confidence...and I don’t think he is wrong

"I'll Go With Myself" - NFC South QB Says He's the Best in the Division - EssentiallySports

The NFC South will see a strong battle between its quarterbacks this season. Among the many great quarterbacks in the division, there are two Super Bowl Champions and MVPs. But, another quarterback thinks he is better than the others there.

Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan thinks he is the best QB in NFC South.  Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Matt Ryan recently said on ‘Pardon My Take‘ Podcast that he believes he’s the best quarterback in the NFC South. “Currently, yeah, I’ll go with myself“, he said when the question was popped.
“He knew he could get roasted for it… Although in fairness, he is the best quarterback right now in the division,” said Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. Other starting quarterbacks in the division include Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Teddy Bridgewater, Jameis Winston, and Taysom Hill.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Ryan was named the NFL MVP in 2016. He has 51,186 passing yards and 321 touchdowns in his 12-year career so far. Dan Katz, the man who interviewed Matt Ryan, later said that “he’s awesome. He’s awesome to talk to.”
    Why Ryan may be right
Katz added that Matt Ryan is amongst the most underrated quarterbacks in the NFL. “If you look at his career… since 2008, there has only been one time that Matt Ryan has finished out of the top ten in QBR,” the analyst said. Ryan has been in the top 10 quarterbacks for a long time, “and it’s crazy that we just kind of forget about [him].” On this, Matt Ryan said that he understands that “the status [only] comes from” a quarterback’s performance in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. “That’s the nature of how people see it right now,” the quarterback said. Thus, being underrated doesn’t bother him very much.
“It’s almost as if that loss in the Super Bowl [LI] after they were up 28-3 disqualifies him from any future consideration,” added Florio. Analyst and former quarterback, Chris Simms recently came out with his list of top 40 quarterbacks and put Ryan in 7th place. Brady and Brees, in comparison, were 15th and 16th respectively.
Mike Florio agrees that Matt Ryan is the best quarterback in the NFC South. Tom Brady will be 43 this year and may not do as well as he has been doing for so long. “I’m saying Matt Ryan is going to be better than him and maybe, Brady will be number two. But I just think the ability to be at that highest possible level, it’s not there anymore,” Florio said.
Whether Ryan will be better than Brady, we’ll know only as the 2020 season gets underway and progresses. And, our best chance to decide shall come in December when the two quarterbacks will be up against each other.

We will have something really nice in that 8-12 range. Blue chip. And that 8-12 may be more like 12-16 if the WR run starts early, which it really could.

I like your thinking. Except I really think Delpit can be had much, much later. Too many good safeties in the draft to take one at 16 imo. Henderson or Kinlaw make the most sense to me if we stay put.

What would get us all really excited?
    Young at 2-4?.
    Simmons in the top 5.
Something about trading up for a CB in the top 5 doesn't make me pop the champagne. Why is that??

You sell it to me like that and I dig it. It's what others have been incapable of doing. I am always happy to be proven wrong if it benefits my understanding.
That said, in your opinion, do we have to take him at 16, is it a risk to move down?

The only reason I even tolerate this level of stupidity? It is funny. TD lives rent free in your head, and I love it. #BestGMweHaveEverHad. #1970Doesn'tUnderstandBall

These numbers are likely boosted by Ryan and Julio's AV. Dimi's two best draft choices.
Problem is they sucked the cap out of the team. He never built an OLine or front seven.
Not that he would know how to.

Found this really interesting.  Uses ProFootballReference’s AV (approximate value) metric for players to see what their value was vs expected value at that draft pick.  Since 2000 ATL has the fifth best on here and mostly green since TD has been here.  I swear some people think only TD misses on picks and that everyone else must hit everytime.
Couple things stand out.  Our 16 draft was really good (obviously), Seattle’s 2012 draft was stupid good, and the Browns aren’t good at drafting.

If we moved up for Young, we could get a pick back by shipping Takk off to Dallas.

    1. TD is the smoke master
    2. Simmons, Odukah.... Young. There are no other acceptable answers if we trade into the top 5. I also struggle with the first two on that list in the top 3, considering the inevitable QB rush.

I think the only way we get him is a slide. But the slide is on. Maybe
Players people may sell the farm for if they get itchy trigger fingers:
Young Tua Herbert - This dude is going top 10, mark it. Beckton A WTF QB (we have enjoyed some extreme WTF moments at QB in recent years, Danny Dimes anyone? Love, Fromm and more could very well be that guy.) of course Okudah is on that list.... but I always have faith in QB and OT madness... pleaaaasse baby Jeebus, let's have this QB run early. If Burrow goes one and another goes in picks 3-5.... Game on. And I really think that isn't impossible. Would result in 4 QBs going before 16.... Gooood.... Gooood.

Delpit is longer than the other safeties and the other safeties outside of Winfield Jr. have huge coverage issues. With the amount of nickle coverages we run,  a athlete like Delpit at Safety is huge. Plus it allows you to drop Keanu Neal into a LB role where is can lay people out and has good experience with coverage. It is a win win for Falcons. I know it's not a glamorous pick, I was highly against it myself at first but the more I watched Delpit play the more I realized he is a gamer.  Of course if Kinlaw or A. Thomas are there when we go to pick at 16. Delpit is a moot point. I would not move up at all in this draft, there is a lot of good talent that fits our needs up and down the board. We have too many holes to be moving up. I get that some people have Delpit a 2nd rounder but for what WE do. hes a fit. He's a Jim Thorpe Award winner and the best ranked S in the draft for a reason.
