  1. Back in 1998, we had to "squeeze" into the Super Bowl... This year, we kicked the door down..! GO FALCONS..!
  2. I will take "Bandwagon" fans over "Fair Weather" fans, any day. With the Falcons getting little to no media coverage outside of ATL, a lot of "new" fans are just now becoming aware of the Falcons and how good they are. What I can't stomach, are the long time fans that are fans when the team is wining but disappear into the woodwork when ever the Falcons are losing.
  3. Thanks..! I've been a fan since 1970. One thing that I know for sure, is that this is, without a doubt, the BEST team that the Falcons have ever fielded..! Yes, we have a very realistic shot at WINNING THE SUPER BOWL..! Hope so... I've only been waiting for 47 YEARS..!
  4. Been a fan since 1970. Used to live about 1/2 mile from Fulton Co. Stadium. Traveled all over the country/world but have always remained a Falcons fan. Yes, there have been many seasons of suffering but I'm still here...
  5. Drew Breese and the Saint's Offense can make many "good" defenses look bad..! So, the Falcons Defense may be a lot better than what the numbers show at this point in time. We will know for sure as the season progresses...
  6. I can't believe it..! The Falcons come from behind to beat one of the premier teams in the NFL, that is also a Division rival. They score the most points and had the most yards of ANY team in the NFL in week 1 and they do it against one of the top defenses in the NFL. Matt Ryan had one of the highest QB ratings for a opening game in NFL history..! So, what do the folks at "Inside the NFL" have to say about it..? NOTHING..! NOT ONE @#$% WORD..! Sure, they showed film highlights but there was not any commentary what so ever..!!!
  7. After the devastating injuries and horrible start to the season, my expectations have gone from "Win the Super Bowl" to "break .500". Even though this season is pretty much a bust, the young Falcons can gain a lot of valuable experience this year. With returning healthy players, plus the gained training and experience of the younger players, the Falcons could be a real force next season. I am not giving up on this team. I'm just readjusting my expectations.
  8. As much as I hate to say it, the Falcons chances of making the post season are done. Nothing short of a biblical level miracle will save this season. However, let's not abandon our team. NOW is the time for the Falcons to start building for NEXT season..! Use the rest of this season to train and evaluate younger players while looking for vets to fill holes in both lines. This team still has a lot of core talent. I've waited for over 40yrs for the Falcons to win the Super Bowl... I guess I can wait another year.
  9. As fans, it's always fun to play armchair QB and Monday morning coach. With 20/20 hindsight, our in depth knowledge of the NFL along with our "Madden" skills, we are more than qualified to second guess the professionals that have dedicated their lives to football. (yes, I'm being sarcastic.) The fact is, as fans, watching the NFL is like looking at an iceberg. We only see what is on the surface. Many of the decisions that are made are based on factors that we fans will never see. (It's still fun, though.)
  10. No, what it means is that the Falcons are playing some of the best teams in the NFL and, despite all of their problems, are still very competitive. Consider this: We are three dropped passes from being 4-0. Sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don't. Right now, this is all very valuable experience for the Falcons. If you look at the past Super Bowl winners, you will see that many of them had serious struggles in the early parts of their winning seasons. As has been mentioned before, it's not how you start the season, it's how you finish..! We still have 12 games left in this seas
  11. I'm as disappointed as anyone else at the team's 1-3 record. However, you have to consider the following: The combined record of the teams that the Falcons have lost to is 10-0. In each of those losses, the game went down to the wire. In two of those games, the team was decimated with injuries. Last night, in what could have been a blow-out, the Falcons didn't give up..! They clawed their way back and made a very competitive and exciting game out of it. I have been a Falcon's fan since 1970. As a fan, I have weathered much, much worse than this. To all of the Bandwagon fans that want
  12. Whether anyone remembers the book or movie, I still think "Von Ryan's Express" would be a good nickname for the Falcon's offense..!
  13. What can I say... I'm an old Falcon's fan (since 1970). I really enjoyed the book and movie "Von Ryan's Express". Plus, I think it would be a cool nickname for the Falcon's offense.
  14. I still think that, if they stay healthy, the Falcons can out score anybody..!
  15. The Falcon's offense was one of the best last year. They moved the ball well and scored well on two of the best defenses in the NFC during the playoffs. With a stronger running game, they should be even better this coming season..! With just modest improvements on defense, the Falcons should be one of the top SB contenders. Can't wait to see them in action..!!!
