I've wondered that myself. He has nice size but struggles backpeddling. Wonder if him coming towards the ball would help

Excellent point that won't hit home with TATF Cynics, Madden Boys or Tankers. I've seen lots of positives. So far a one, four and thirteen point loss despite all the keystone cop plays. Two of the games were against teams that might end up being juggernauts. We are closer than many think. Could easily have been 2-1 and first in the NFCS with one less drop and overthrow.

I say start with the GM first. A real football guy adept at talent evaluation. Especially in the trenches. Then trust him to find the right coach. Preferably one who adapts to his players and to situations presented on a game by game, quarter by quarter basis.

The last play on each of our last three drives was a deep ball. One overthrown, one underthrown and one picked. The Bears pass rush was in Ryan's skull at that point. They had him off kilter and playing scared.

I saw some signs from Miller but this is basically his rookie year so he'll get handled quite a few times. Maybe not as many as Oliver who needs to move to the left side. Of the bench. Or maybe even to the state line.

Falcons filter...we need defensive for a lack of a better word, junk yard mean thugs on defense.  I mean seriously, does this guy strike fear into any opposing offenses? I see this photo TD and I don't draft him.

Nope. TATF doesn't understand PFF. Their scores are based on everything a players does. Good play ratings are reduced by penalties, whiff blocks, drops, missed tackles, blown coverages, turnovers, missed takeaways, overthrows, underthrows, you name it. TATF may never fully understand.

Four of the top 5 QBs in the passer rating, QBR and winning% categories are mobile QBs.

It is but the biggest problem is that secondary and in my opinion it's mostly a talent problem. Very shaky. Quinn and Dimi tried to recreate the legion of boom secondary (Sherman, ET, Kam, Browner and Maxwell) with Oliver, Suave, Dennard, AJ and Neal). Not even close. Pete Carroll is even having trouble recreating that. They better go sign a couple vets and hope Sheffield and Miller can come back and play at a higher level. Miller has been activated.

Too early to tell about Morris? Did you watch the last three games? You also realize he’s a proven loser as an NFL coach in any/all capacity right?

Too early he says.... You must be Blanks nephew haha jk. Can I get a Home Depot gift card doe?

Let’s state the obvious, this team is BAD, soft, poorly coached and poorly managed. Here’s a word of the wise to all the optimistic fans out there (I find myself guilty of this every season as well). Don’t get your hopes up because this organizations dysfunction is unbelievably deeper than needing a new coach or a really great draft pick, here is why.

Arthur Blank: Buys Falcons in 2002, let’s look at this brilliant timeline
-Fires Dan Reeves (201-174 record, he was 59 years old)
-Hires Jim Mora Jr. Mike Vick made Mora’s career and quite frankly anyone could of stood there with a headset while Vick set the NFL on fire
    -Then Bobby Petrino
    -Then Mike Smith
    -Now Dan Quinn
No head coach of the Falcons since 2004 has ever gotten another NFL HC job. Seems like they didn’t see the same thing Blank did and now every coach listed above (except Quinn) is out of the NFL completely.
-Blank grants Shanahan “extended window” to interview for HC jobs during the playoffs prior to SB, inevitably excepting a role as the 49ers head coach prior to the biggest game in the Atlanta Falcons history
-We let Shanny walk as well as Matt LaFleur. GB is 3-0, SF is 2-1

-Hire Steve Sarkisian & Richard Smith as coordinators: Sark is out of the league and Smith is demoted to a “linebacker coach”
-We hire Dirk Koetter: 19-29 as HC, we hire Raheem Morris: 17-31 as a HC
-We are 0-3 and setting records for how bad we are in back to back weeks
-TD: comes from the Belichick tree who’s the greatest coach of all time, TD was made by a phenomenal organization that he didn’t have the keys to blow it like he does with us when it comes to talent evaluation. When is the last time you saw New England ever trade up for a pic? They trade back nearly every year and load up on phenomenal young players, TD clearly missed that memo
-TD: Sure he’s hit on Grady, Deion Jones, and the obvious of guys like Matty Ice & Julio. But look at the guys misses, 90% of all OL & DL drafted by TD over the last 10 years are out of the league
I’m not trying to pile on with this but I’m trying to provide some level of solace for why this organization and this team continuously under performs and always disappoints a Fanbase who is completely undeserving of this consistency of pitifulness. Did we really think hiring two failed head coaches and putting them in coordinator roles would actually work?

The common denominator in all of this is Arthur Blank and Thomas Dimitroff (sprinkle in a little McKay too). Blank consistently whiffs on hiring people to lead and coach this organization and Dimitroff consistently whiffs on solidifying outstanding players where every game is won and lost (the trenches). So as a diehard fan that hasn’t missed a Falcons game in over 25 years I want all of you to know that we deserve better, but if we continue to do what Blank and Dimitroff have consistently done since they’re affiliation with the Falcons, it’s always going to be history repeating itself and us being disappointed. The sooner everyone realizes that, the less grueling these underperforming seasons will continue to be. It’s not worth the stress, it’s not worth the disappointment, because I can assure you we have nothing that supports the competency of Blank or Dimitroff or any hope they can revamp a team that’s always “blown it” since Blank bought them in ‘02.
Keep your head up y’all, one day we will get it right but that day ain’t coming anytime soon. At least we have the Braves right?

    Sincerely,
    Reality

Im going to get blasted for this, Im sure but, just take a look at the standings: https://www.nfl.com/standings/

Seattle, Green Bay, and Chicago are the only undefeateds, and we helped Chicago a lot with that.
There are only 7 total winning records, 9 losing ones, and 4 winless teams.
In our division, we are last but just 1 game out of 2nd place right now...
Nobody wants to hear this, but it's still very early, and a lot of teams are off to bad/slow starts. We are not out of this thing yet.
We clearly gave away 2 big losses, but arent getting blown out like some of the other struggling teams as our point diff has us around 11th right now.
Let's start with beating Green Bay. And lets take care of business in our division.
If we figure this thing out, who knows what can happen.
Here is to hoping, what else do we have to lose right?
