  1. Again in a three way tie, Head to head is not applicable (according to NFL wildcard tiebreaking rules) It would then go to conference record (I think we edge GB here....but NYG has done well in Conf.... take a look below the three or more way ties favor us in most cases at least from what I can figure out...it is like calculus and physics all rolled into one but harder LOL Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked
  2. I agree...I was just trying to settle what I STILL think is faulty stat guys. I think PAt actually had it right and then his story was retracted.... But I absolutely know one thing, WE NEED TO WIN IN SEATTLE. That is the biggest and easiest route to us winning the division. Then we only have to take out either NO or CAR (or both to keep our home streak going) Personally I prefer to win out and take the trophy home. On a side note I wouldn't mind the Giants winning and beating Philly next week as that would put them closer to being eliminated....I am not scared of them but I would prefer to not
  3. except in this scenario it is a three way tie which means since we did not play chicago, those tiebreakers don't mean snot unless one team is eliminated (IE gets a wild card spot then it reverts to head to head.
  4. ok here are tiebreakers for wild card Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of th
  5. i don't know why we are debating this we are not going to lose to SEA and CAR and NO.. I still think someone will have to walk me thru the tiebreaker between us Chicago and Philly. I don't think the logic of philly beat us and Chicago beat them would decide it since we never had an opportunity to play Chicago. that hardly would seem right. doesn't matter we are gonna beat Seattle and then we will win at least 1 of 2 and be the number one seed
  6. GB would be 11-5 in this sceenario and we own the tie breaker over them....WE WOULD STILL BE IN!
  7. on a side note we must win 2 out of any three games for #1 seed
  8. HarveyB-man....doesn't matter. GB can only end up 11-5, TB can only end up 11-5 (since 2 teams are out of the 7 eligible and we have tiebreakers over them - how does a tie affect us?) Even if Giants and philly tie the best they would be is 12-3-1 yes they would seed higher than us....no big deal if we are talking playoff eligibilty.... example. NO 13-3 #1 Philly 12-3-1 #2 Giants 12-3-1 #3 Bears 12-4 #5 Winner of west #4 Falcons (after collapse 11-5) #6 TB 11-5 (we win by head to head) GB 11-5 (we win by head to head) How does the tie affect that.....? Oh by the way Giants and GB also have to p
  9. It doesn't matter read my post....because we beat TB and GB head to Head....and they can finish no better than 11-5 THERE is no way we are not in..... am I the only one who sees this??? Someone would have to explain the scenario where we are not in... A NYG loss or win doesn't change the FACTS we would be in and TB/GB would be out if we were all 11-5 (which by the way does not matter since philly and giants have to play also....though philly owns the tiebreaker over us, not sure about giants.)
  10. No we don't need Giants to lose....DO THE MATH. Every sporting news out there is not doing the math. Read the post carefully 2 of 7 teams with the best records will be left out of the playoffs, we own tiebreakers over both of them due to head to head wins. Therefore the worst we could do is be the 6th seed at this point. If 3 or more teams finish 11-5 assuming a total ATL meltdown included we own the tie breaker over TB and GB due to our wins vs them. SIMPLE MATH, NFL tiebreaker rules......WE ARE ALREADY IN no matter what happens.
  11. I don't know why people (IE sportscasters) can't figure this one out. ATL is 11-2 (if we lose every game we would be 11-5) TB is 7-5 so the best they could do is 11-5 GB is 7-5 so the best they can do is 11-5 We own the tiebreaker over both.... Even is Philly, NO, NYG, TB, GB, and the west win out....which is not possible since there are common opponent games between them, WE WOULD BE IN!!!! That said we need to win against SEATTLE to have the common opponent tiebreaker against NO (if they beat Baltimore) in order to win the division by beating CAR.... Either way 2 wins out of the last three o
  12. Sure i am bummed we loss.....but not for lack of effort! Really we are the only team that really stand in the way of the Saints going undefeated......and i think we will!.......I love my Falcons no matter what....GOOD POST.....please keep making them we need more fans like you!!
  13. THX MBT33......There are true fans and then....Flash fans.....The real fans need to take this board back......if they don't i will quit coming here....not being a TRUE FAN
  14. Agreed Caddie.....coming into tonight after the game against Dallas I was worried....but I am telling you the heart we showed tonight....I WAS **** PROUD OF THE EFFORT especially the defense.....sure we had some screw ups......but you know.....we have a nice schedule remaining..Even the saints coach said we played really well....and I don't think he was saying it just to say it!
