  1. You've been mentioning his name a lot. I don't follow college football much but is the play maker we've been needing at the safety position? In the championship game, the few times I noticed him was closer to the line of scrimmage. Which safety position do you think he is more suited for in our defense?
  2. Thanks. For comparison sakes, would he be a younger version of what we have in Bailey?
  3. What's his strength? What position along the line do you think best uses it? Is he even a fit for what we do defensively?
  4. Sure would have been nice for Shanahan to run the ball to seal the victory in the 4th quarter of the superbowl though. What variables played in to him calling pass plays with an injury riddled offensive line that held up enough to help Matt get us to field goal range few times? Side note: I will welcome Shanahan with open arms without hesitation. Best coordinator Matt has ever had.
  5. Can we get a red zone coordinator for Dirk as well?
  6. Look at the list of incompetent coordinators we've had. Also how many times a season do we see Matt and Julio fail to connect deep? I feel so bad for Julio and Matt wasting their prime years under koetter and sark.
  7. We are going to need three defense to be elite next season or at least top five. This franchise can't get out of its own way. I just don't understand how we have majority of the cap spent on offense but can barely put up 20 points a game while other coordinators are doing more with less. Even though the defense started the first half in abysmal fashion, no one can argue they have outperformed the offense by such a wide margin, it's not even close. We are getting more bang for the buck defensively considering how to heavy we are with the cap favoring offense. I would like to either see the next draft yield all defensive players. I think the offense has had enough resources poured in to it. Im not liking my returns. We need elite players at every position just to be average offensively.
  8. I get jealous watching Brees connecting with Thomas regularly while Julio either gets overthrown to put just get phased out.
  9. Julio didn't even have a chance to make a play on that ball. My goodness Matt!
  10. The only thing that Reeves sucked at was being a gm. I wish blank would have gotten him a good gm because whenever he had enough semblance of talent in the roster, his team's usually overachieved. Rich McKay wasn't the answer.
  11. We only have one superstar. That's Julio. Am I missing someone else?
  12. To me, Freeman is overrated. He is one of those players that overachieved and got mistakened as a tier 1 running back after an amazing year. I just don't think this blocking scheme is for him. Unfortunately he got paid like a top back and our coaches are too loyal to certain players from 2016 to realize change is needed. This continues to be a problem with Dimitroff at the helm. He always preaches keeping your core but fail to realize when the core is no longer talented enough in an ever evolving nfl. The same thing happened under Mike Smith. Don't get me wrong. I actually like Thomas Dimitroff. Unfortunately this might be his last season. He is too married to his draft picks instead of being able to identify when to make necessary moves to acquire playmaking/ game changing free agents when they're available. We stay stagnant instead. That's the next wall Dimitroff has to break through in his next gig. Overall he had done a fabulous job honestly. But if we keep Quinn for another season, we would definitely need a fresh set of eyes at gm.
  13. I wish Freeman was bigger or had power. It shouldn't have been a 3rd and 2. Im tired of these scat backs.
  14. Thanks man. I don't know anything about him. It's he at least better than ish in coverage? I am scared of another career game for the titans tight end (delanie Walker? ). He is actually good. Im tired of guys becoming household names and signing shoe deals after playing Atlanta.
  15. I will award TD gm of the year if he makes this happen.
  16. They don't play against us much either but they had our defense on their heels all game. I think you're being hyperbolic asserting that some of us are expecting the team to go 16-0. Im more concerned at how badly we are beating ourselves more than the other team is. The philly game shouldn't have been that close but we allowed them to make it a game and our defense, because of miscommunication, almost blew it last week. Minnesota blew us away because of lack of edge discipline all game. While other teams with lesser talent overachieve against us. If Falcons aren't beating themselves with the same mistakes through out the game and the opponent wins, I can live with that. When you know all they have us a quick short passing game (as vel scored correctly) with their tight end being their main receiver and a very good run game, but still come out getting gashed over losing your assignment repeatedly or Quinn putting the wrong matchups like Ishmael in coverage, something is wrong. That's why I questioned the quality of practices. There is no way colts should have only had to punt once or twice and brissett looking like black manning out there. I haven't lost faith in the team yet. While ive lost some faith in Quinn today, I still believe he gets this unit humming eventually. I will always be worried about the offense. No matter what coordinator we acquire (Shanahan not included) that side is usually underperforming. That's why I don't expect much from Matt and the offense. We have so many weapons but get so little out of them. I couldn't believe Luke stocker had more targets and receptions than Ridley. Yet we couldn't stop a hobbled Ty Hilton and a tight end the whole game getting passes from a back up qb. The good take from this is hoping that this be the game that had finally helped Matt get the cobb webs out. He looked possessed in the 2nd half.

  18. Something isn't translating from these practices fatboi. The tackling issues and losing assignments. The quality of practices are probably the problem. That falls on the coaching staff. I can understand if they were killing us with trick plays or exotic stuff but they weren't. They were looking confused on many possessions. That's excluding the penalties.
  19. Hey @vel, if it isn't too much to ask for (pwetty pwease pwease), can you include the main plays you will use for offense and defense against said teams especially if you feel they can be had in certain looks, alignments, etc..? Like would it be better to play 5-2, 3-4,4-4 bear front or over/ under (I'm making stuff up at this point) since they will be leaning on the run heavily and the short passing game? On offense do we focus mainly on running from spread formations when they are in thre cover 2 (if that's their main look) or do we line up in the I formation and pound the rock down their throats?
  20. I know I will be afraid if Quinn doesn't allow trufant to follow Hilton where ever he lines up. I am scared of Hilton vs Oliver matchup.
  21. I wholeheartedly agree. I think if vel, gazoo, peytonmanningforehead, and tdwii ever get into writing articles, they can easily make money. I know I will certainly buy.
  22. That was an amazing throw by Matt. I was initially against him making that throw into double coverage going deep but was frozen in awe how well placed the ball was for Calvin to be able to get his hands on it. That catch would have been a 9 out of 10 on difficulty scale if Calvin would have reeled it in. While I like Matt going deep, even I thought that was too risky. I liked that he tried to stay aggressive. Hope he comes to terms with when he should go deep during film review this week. Please make those throws if our receivers are in single coverage Matt!
  23. I totally agree. He also emphasized driving the ball not throwing it up there like a lob which annoys me about that part of his game. Dirk needs to help grow Ryan's confidence in taking those shots with his receivers in the end zones for those jump balls and back shoulder throws.
  24. I think the defense will definitely do their part. It's the offense in worried about. I will not be surprised if we lose this. It won't be because of the defense. If the offense can even play average, we will win.
