Both very solid pickups. I love Harmon at safety. Patterson’s versatility and return ability is super valuable. I like the cheap moves Terry has made.
Much better than the pay one guy big money and then use the draft and UDFA to fill holes like Td did

I didn't think so..

Good ****. Got our returner and a likely starter at safety. I like Harmon more than Vaccaro at least, and Pees did fine work with the latter

Falcons Sign Duron Harmon and Cordarrelle Patterson
Apr 15, 2021 at 11:25 AM
by John Deighton & Matt Haley The Falcons have signed unrestricted free agents Duron Harmon and Cordarrelle Patterson to one-year contracts.
(AP Photo/Margaret Bowles) Harmon has played in 127 games with 45 starts over eight NFL seasons. He has posted 248 tackles (191 solo) with two tackles for loss, 19 interceptions and 33 passes defensed during his career. After spending seven seasons in New England, Harmon was traded to the Detroit Lions in 2020. He started all 16 games at safety and tallied a career-high 73 tackles (54 solo) with two interceptions and five passes defensed last season.
The Rutgers product was originally selected by the Patriots in the third round (91st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion (XLIX, LI, LIII).
Patterson has earned first-team All-Pro honors four times (2013, 2016, 2019-20) as a kick returner and earned second-team All-Pro honors twice (2015, 2018). He led the NFC in kick return average (29.1) and kick return yards (1,017) for the Chicago Bears last season. The four-time Pro Bowler (2013, 2016, 2019-20) leads all kickoff returners in touchdowns (eight) since entering the NFL in 2013. Patterson's eight kickoff returns for touchdowns are tied with Josh Cribbs and Leon Washington for the most in NFL history.
Originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (29th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Tennessee, Patterson has appeared in 127 games (36 starts) with the Vikings (2013-16), Oakland Raiders (2017), New England Patriots (2018) and Bears (2019-20). The Rock Hill, S.C., native owns a career 29.8 kickoff return average – the second-highest return average in NFL history among qualified returners behind only Pro Football Hall of Famer Gale Sayers (30.6 avg.). On offense, Patterson has recorded 216 receptions for 2,087 yards (9.7 avg.) and 10 touchdowns and has rushed for 1,017 yards on 167 carries (6.1 avg.) and eight touchdowns.

Until then, each draft class is likely to only serve up moreevidence that finding a tight end who can make a bigimpact early in his career is a sort of unicorn.
Meet the unicorn
xSICKxWITHxITx reacted to Jesus in The insanity of taking a first-round tight end in the NFL Draft
From all the opinions out there it seems like any pick in the first round of the draft is "insane."
xSICKxWITHxITx reacted to Jesus in AB was disappointed with the Falcons results, and Has high expectations.
Blank always says that but he kept Quinn, Mike Smith, Lil Mora two seasons too long each.
xSICKxWITHxITx reacted to Francis York Morgan in AB was disappointed with the Falcons results, and Has high expectations.
I think this is incredibly far off base. The only one I think he kept too long is Quinn (and only one season too long), you don't fire coaches after one losing season (or a winning one in your example) because that just sets an impossibly high standard. There are no successful franchises with that model, full stop.
And the point about "it's not about win-loss record" is goofy because it assumes a lot about the owner and fans. Most aren't football guys. It is about wins and losses. It's a business.
xSICKxWITHxITx reacted to falcons007 in Possible out on Matt Contract *IF* we go QB
It’s 2023 with 15 M dead money or 40 M dead money in 2022.
Matt Ryan salary for the team trading is a Jackpot. Ryan’s cap hit for team trading him will be 23-25 M. But the biggest losers are falcons.
If they wanted out of Matt’s Contract, restructuring was the dumbest move.

Sorry I had to downvote you because your a tool.
You don't downvote someone that took the time to post something like this, because he not drafting who you like in a ******* Mock Draft. Then you reply to the post some some hard-hitting, in-depth analysis, strong work. Yell up to mom that you need some more Totino's pizza rolls before you downvote this post.
I don't want Sewell either at #4, but downvote the poster, pathetic.

1.0 Mock with trade down scenario can be viewed here:
Sticking with the no QB top 5 theme for this one, nobody will be able to convince me a TE is worth a top 5 pick as a 'lets compete' decision so I am going with a position of impact and a player than can be a difference maker at RT and eventually move to LT in 3-4 seasons. Bottom line McGary is an average tackle so maybe he can salvage his career at guard if not we find his replacement next year. Just like my other draft I will focus on defense heavy in the middle rounds to attempt fixing some of the holes we have
R1 Pick 4 - Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon 6-5 331
I am pretty firm at this point if no QB and no trade down happen here that Sewell is the best option to help Ryan win, we have plenty of weapons, we dont need Pitts or Chase and there is no defender worth this pick either.

Disagree. Blank probably more inclined to keep Matt Ryan and Julio Jones too long as he has deep personal relationships with these players and said “Falcon for Life” when RE-signing them. Wheeled Michael Vick around, etc.
