  1. Oh you are right...Dez Bryant is dumber than most nails, and on bad days screws as well....the guy can't speak, II doubt he is able to learn plays very well, which is why OSU's offense centered around deep post patterns, slants, and jump ball routes (fades)....looo at the film...plus, I am an OSU student and have seen every snap he played in college on...the guy is good...but dumb
  2. Look at the trend in selecting QBs #1 overall and how it is almost every year now...look, back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s there were only 3 QBs selected #1 overall in each of those decades...it grew to 4 in the 90s and now 7 in the 2000s...that is very interesting to see how the league has really become an offensive focus and QB driven league....****, 9 out of the last 12 years, a QB has been take #1 overall...compare that to 8 in the previous 23 years.....just cool trend analysis I guess...
  3. Here is some extra information to add to this topic....I also would like to mention, as an OSU fan, and graduate student...I think Bryant has football speed, meaning he doesn't lose much speed with pads....also the guy measured in at 6'1" 224lbs.....seems like an Andre Johsnon mold to me.... The link: http://blogs.nfl.com/category/pro-days/ Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant is still going through position drills at his private workout for NFL teams, but I do have his 40-yard dash times to pass along. Bryant began the workouts Tuesday in his hometown of Lufkin, Texas, with the 40, posting times of 4
  4. I like your thinking.....if he is on the roster, he won't be the starter....either a STUD Rookie we drafted will be, or they give KROY his chance....
  5. I would worry about the defending champs in our own division not to mention conference, before the teams you mentioned....Dallas, New Orleans, and Vikings are the teams I see right now besides us at the top....after that you have a few other teams that could go either up or down, but are formidable foes...Giants, Eagles, Packers, Bears, maybe the Redskins or 49ers.... I would kinda throw these out based on their off-season so far, and they way they played last year....Lions, Cardinals, Seahawks, Bucs, Panthers
  6. The are really good points Pickle....I think people think TD walks on water, and he doesn't. The man has made several eyebrow raising moves. Now, Baker did come on last year, but as for Moore & Jerry, they did have injury issues in college and yes, that occurred to them last year, hopefully they rebound and play most of the season, but with that in mind, you always must have good depth, no matter what level of football you are on....
  7. I would be fine with this draft. I would prefer Spoon, but it would still benefit us.... MJ12 is a #2 WR because our offensive system allows him to be a #2 WR....I would personally prefer a single coverage threat that can get spearation from DBs....so I am fine with selecting a WR....I do think we need to find future starters at TE and C in this draft...TG will not be around much longer, and yes he catches everything, but he is not the big time threat he used to be....McClure is also aging, and is not as good as we need inside to help the less talented Blolock & Dahl....
  8. 1. Sean Weatherspoon OLB Missouri 6'1" 239lbs. As an OSU fan, I have personally seen him play, and he is all over the field every time we played them, and in other games that I have watched. I think he has previous chemistry with William Moore, and is friends with Curtis Loften, which you can't put a measurable on. As for his measurables at the combine, they are hard to ignore: 40 Time: 4.68(8th), Bench Reps: 34(2nd), Vertical; 40(t-2nd) His performance on the field is also very hard to ignore as nothing but consistent: He has averaged 131 TCKLS, 14 TFL, 4 SACKS, 6 PBU, 1 INT for the last 3 Se
  9. That would be nice....Abraham & Michael Johnson on opposite ends....with Babs & Grady & JA98 as a pass rushing DT... Our Dline would be very dominant against the pass...IMO
  10. This guy obviously doesn't watch much football and has a rather vague opinion...to think the difference from the first half to the second was going from terrible to bad is stupid.... Ryan's stats in 1st half were 3-15, 36yds, 0TD, 2INT & teh IMPROVEMENT 2nd half he was 10-18, 122yds, 0TD, 0INT A much greater improvement...I thought the playcalling had something to do with our red zone performance as well as TB defense just shutting down our running game. Get a brain
  11. Power rankings are jsut a form of propaganda to get fans stirred up.... Based on week 1 performances alone...my rank:and yes all teams that won are ranked above those that lost 1. Cowboys 2. Steelers 3. Philadelphia 4. Chicago 5. Carolina 6. New Orleans 7. Denver 8. Atlanta 9. NY Jets 10. New England 11. NY Giants 12. Baltimore 13. Buffalo 14. Arizona 15. Green Bay 16. Tennessee 17. San Diego 18. Tampa Bay 19. Indianapolis 20. Jacksonville 21. Cleveland 22. Cincinnati 23. Kansas City 24. Minnesota 25. Detroit 26. Seattle 27. Houston 28. Washington 29. Miami 30. San Fransisco 31. St. Louis 32.
  12. D. Hall was picked on like a rookie in last night's game...he probably played his worst gmae last night...I thought the defensive scheme did not help him at all.... The fact of the matter is....Myself and every other Falcon fan should be glad that we got rid of D. Hall...there are very few CB in this league that play at a high level year and year out.... We got rid of D. Hall at the right time....Good riddens!!! Welcome...B. Grimes, C. Houston, D. Foxworth, C. Jackson
  13. For all of you D. Hall lovers out there...last night is why he is not with us anymore...Overpaid and Overhyped!!!
  14. Very good post...I would bet out of the mentioned catagories, 4-5 will be positives on Sunday...I hope all of them are, but i just cant see it...and even if they are...there is still room for imporvement...
  15. DET 17 v. ATL 19 We win on game winning field goal by Elam...defense plays well, we turned the ball over once in our own territory giving them an easy scoring opportunity. We made it to the red zone 2 times only to come out with 1 field goal...overall we had 1 TD over 20yards and Elam went 4-4 on FG attempts...The offense made strides and the Burner went for 136 yds (45 yd TD) and Ryan went 19-32 208 yrds 1 int....
  16. I think the SEC is the best football conference in college football...but I also think the conference is over-hyped by the media.... If you look at recent UGA players...injuries and off the field issues have kept them from being successful at the next level....
  17. Loften will be the MLB in due time....I think Taylor has really impressed the coaches lately...Don't worry Loften fans...Taylor is from UGA which means it is inevitable that he will get injured in the pros....
  18. Its just another UGA player with a season ending injury...they can't handle the next level...must be that so called tough SEC play....
  19. A #3 QB is an Emergency Quarterback....so for all of you UGA Jock lovin fans out there who want Shockley on the team...if you really cared about him and thought he was good...you would hope he gets cut and is signed to another team with a bad QB situation, becuase unless an Emergency happens...he will NEVER see a regular season snap for the Falcons!!!!
  20. I think that is very good analysis.... I see it this way....I really feel that our new regime is going to keep players they drafted over the previous players...so I think that affects Snelling, Jennings, and Irons... We will not carry 6 WR if we want to be a running team...Jennings has never showed me anything on Special Teams to warrent him a roster spot....a TD...NO!!! Harry Douglas can easily perform that task or Thomas Brown (Whom I think is not that great, but could be solid if not injured)....I think Douglas can handle punts...also don't be surprised if they try Laurent Robinson there a
  21. Actually I would compare Norwood to Faulk...and Harry Douglas to Harrison..size and speed....also that Colts team had Tarik Glenn (2nd season) who could easily be compared to Sam baker....I also beleive the fullbacks would be more comparable to Turner (those were Craig Hayward & Zach Crockett)...I would compare Roddy to Jerome Pathon or Torrence Small...with a brighter future...also that team had Marcus Pollard & Ken Dilger @ TE...a pass catching & blocking TE...similar to what we have..... So what does this mean???? Hey if we went 3-13 like the Colts did that year...I would take i
  22. I think as we get closer to draft day...our coaches and FO will narrow the field down.....
