  1. Yep. But dumping off because none of your downfield receivers are open after reading the defense/going through your progressions and dumping off because it's your primary means of getting your receivers the ball are two different things. Besides, Ryan had twice as many attempts as Shockley and no running game to fall back on. Anytime your passing game has to cover for no running game, your YPA is gonna go down. And don't tell me UGA had no running game that year. When you have a QB who only throws for 2,500 yards, you're a running team. I don't care if there was a RBBC that year - I bet those two or three RBs had over 1,500 yards combined, especially if you include DJ's rushing totals. The "stud RB" I referred to was that commitee and their combined efforts. So my original evaluation stands: Ride the running game and throw an out pattern every once in a while. Same four plays ad nauseum - typical SEC football game. That's what I saw from DJ when I was forced to watch a UGA game that year and nothing anyone says will make me remember it any differently. ily
  2. NEWSFLASH:Those 24 TD's were in the SEC, not in the NFL. Those are his most current stats.... and he did that in a running offense. His recievers were not stellar either if you truly believe that if D.J. came out this year that he would have been a late first to second rd pick I truly feel sorry for you. That's implying that he's better than Henne and Brohm. You UGA fans are so ridiculous
  3. Yeah... you see, the thing is is that all those QBs you listed have at least some measure of talent. DJ doesn't. Do you wanna know what DJ's job essentially was during his one and only year of playing football in a league where his competition wasn't other children? 1) Hand off to the stud RB. 2) Dump off to the stud RB and let him handle the other 20-60 yards on the "long" pass play. 3) Hand off to the stud RB. 4) Throw the occasional 30 yard wobbler to the sideline and wait for your athletically superior WR to grab the jump ball from the little Gamecock DB. 5) Hand off to the stud RB. 6) Lather, rinse, repeat... You gotta be able to throw a tight spiral with touch and hit a WR in stride at this level. DJ has never even been asked to do that, let alone remotely able to pull off the feat. Since, for the moment, there is space for him on the roster, management will once again use him to drive up preseason ticket sales among the many members of the UGA fanbase who don't possess the football acumen to distinguish between "NFL" and "SEC." After that, there will be no further use for him and Shockley's little magic carpet ride as a member of an NFL team will at last come to an end. Then, mercifully, we'll never have to hear his name again. Unless, of course, it is being spoken in a sentence that also includes the words "Talley" or "Bobo." Think I'll crack open a DP and have a smoke now... So I guess that explains the 24 TDs he had....or the high passer rating... ummmm....that's exactly what that does
  4. I've given my anaysis, let's see yours. Explain to me how he realistically gets real playing time. 1. Redmon.... 1-3...could've won 1 more. 2. Harrington....flat out terrible...holds the ball too long...indecisive...no pocket presense/awareness....throws too many INTs. 3. Matt Ryan....well...72 million can't sit for too long.... So having said that, if Shockley stays healthy....he'll be the #2 with Ryan starting and handing off the ball. Very weak argument, you can't do better than that? Last time I checked #2 is sitting on the bench. And it's Redman, not Redmon. Your reprisal may become my new sig if you can't do better. I don't need to say much more...I mean you know the story....SEC Champ...148+ Passer Rating in first and only full season as a starter...tied the school record with 24 TDs...the FO wants him around...academically sound....no issues off the field....don't mind waiting his turn....what else... lol....like being an SEC champ really #####ing matters to the FO. A 148 passer rating? Well, that's good and all but Greene's was just as high, and ummmmm.....where is he? What makes you say the FO wants him around? Do you have an inside source? Academically sound? WTF does that mean? No issues off the field?....well, neither does Harrington or Redman. Bye bye, you lose
  5. isn't it amazing how a guy who, according to the NFL, "has no career stats" in 3 yrs and played 1 season of football in 4 yrs of college is somehow, according the absurd UGA homers on this board, capable of making the team over Harrington or Redman? un-#####ing-real
  6. Hasselbeck, Brees, and Schaub were all drafted well before the sixth round. Every other player on your list also started in college for at least three years. Shockley played 1!!!!
  7. lololol.........now that's some funny #####..............lolololololololololololol to put shockely and anderson in the same sentence is so unbelievably insulting to Anderson it's not even funny. Why not just say Jimmy Williams is our Derek Anderson? It's just as likely. What is so hard to understand?? Shockley has played ONE.....(ONE!!!!!!!!!!) season of football in the past six years!!!!!!!!!! SIX YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why are you such a hater. redman hadnt played real football in 3 years. atleast shock was on the pratice field. which is playing football. played preseason, which is football. you say 6 years, but dont mention that its talking bout starting, and in the 1 year he was way better than matt ryan. If the Falcons didn't take Shockley, he doesn't get drafted. To say his one season starting was "way better than Matt Ryan" is a joke. You can't obviously believe that. Matt Ryan was just drafted 3rd overall in NFL draft. Shockley was a late 6th rd. pick. To compare the two is hugely insulting to the former. I wouldn't be hating nearly as often if I were to encounter even the slightest bit of realistic assessment regarding Shockley. You keep using the Brady's (6th rd) and Redman (no football for 3 yrs) as references and comparisons, but you must understand, they are the exceptions, certainly not the rule.
  8. Barry Sanders and Jim Brown say hello not even close
  9. Vick is the greatest singular talent to ever play in the National Football League. He's one in a billion and light years ahead of his time. I've thought this for a while.....the game was simply too slow for him, no one knew what to do with him, he's a freak. Watch him play, watch the defensive coordinators adjust for him, listen to what opposing head coaches had to say about him before you listen to what the media does. The (largely) white media was scared of Vick. They didn't know how to talk about him. He intimadated the old timers. Just look at him and VY. The comparison is ridiculous....like comparing Young to Jake Delhomme in terms of mobility and the way he affects a game. Again, waaaaay ahead of his time. He's the most polarizing on the field athlete we'll see in a loooooong time
  10. awesome!!! keep the good vibes and positive outlook comin'
  11. lol lol....I'm pretty sure I'd rather have this delicious Dr. Pepper I'm drinking or this Marlboro Light I'm about to smoke take snaps before Shockley
  12. he's the best red zone threat that's on the roster. however, with White, Robinson, and eventually Douglas all above him on the depth chart, I don't see him getting a lot of chances to prove his worth. Douglas will be really good
  13. that was a good snag.....did UGA win the SEC? If not was it LSU? UGA won the regular season but got knocked out in the sec tourney. Got a 8 seed in the ncaa tourny. only 8 national seeds are given out. is that really a room in your home?? I also have about 10 uga pictures up, surround sound in the room, a big UGA helmet fat head, and a full workout gym including dumbells that go up to 65lbs.. it's my room.. while I myself would choose different fat heads, not to mention the fact that I hate the SEC more than anything on this earth (besides Trey Wingo and guys who watch MTV), asserting your dominance over a room in the fashion you have is awesome. I wish my gf would let me do something similar.....ain't happening tho
  14. that was a good snag.....did UGA win the SEC? If not was it LSU? UGA won the regular season but got knocked out in the sec tourney. Got a 8 seed in the ncaa tourny. only 8 national seeds are given out. is that really a room in your home??
  15. that was a good snag.....did UGA win the SEC? If not was it LSU?
  16. You can't replace that type of player....unless you bring back R. Cunningham. I agree, Vick is irreplaceable
  17. lol go ahead & laugh now while you can, UGA will be laughing last!:smooooth: I'm watching the game now...what UGA does have is some pretty sweet uniforms. Very sharp. Sweet snag the FSU 3rd baseman just made
  18. inevitable after the signing of stepanovich
  19. yes!! the QB's job is to move the ball down the field. Too many preconceived notions about the position.
  20. unfortunately, there is no fair way to have a champion in college football. The closest you can come to fairness is the way the sytem used to be set up: when the national champion was voted for, after all the bowl games. Way too political now. In college basketball, every team has a chance to compete for a championship, but now, it's the top 4-5 teams in the top 3-4 conferences. Boise St should have played for it 2 yrs ago and Hawaii should have played for it last year. People too often confuse the national champion for the best team. Just because you win the national championship, doesn't mean that you're the best team, just the champion, and everyone should have a shot at becoming a champion.
  21. In the battle of the Bulldogs, Fresno State reigns supreme.
