  1. If you bothered to read the article, it shows Pete Carroll is interested in the Falcons jobs.. all the other threads are about the Falcons being interested in Pete..
  2. Considering your track record of posts and threads I'll just wait to hear what the state of Virginia decides to do over your legal expertise. :w00t: But hey at least you were able to start a redundant thread on a topic you thought was new news.
  3. To show how irrelevant Mike Vick news is the Falcons Message Board Mods moved it to a forum that has posts about a Man cooking and eating his girlfriend! Classic! The truth hurts.. anything BUT Football!
  4. Some of you might want to wait until the Virginia/State trial is resolved before you start having wet dreams about Vick in 09...:w00t:
  5. Did you cry when you played? You know whats touching is when guys cry and tell other guys its ok to cry.Why did you cry?Was someone there for you?:w00t: Does it matter? No. Each guy handles his last game in a different manner, but at least you know that Colt and all of those other guys that cried at the end of their career cared about something bigger then themselves. Again, you can mock the kid, but knowing Colt's history, I fully understand the reason behind why he was upset and why he felt like he let his school and state down.
  6. From quite a few of these posts it's pretty clear that a lot of you have never played a down of college football. Some of you may never understand why Colt was crying or why there were likely a large handful of Georgia players and players from other schools across the country crying in the locker room after their final college game. To laugh at Colt for crying is pathetic.
  7. He didn't use anybody.. have we not seen this happen dozens if not hundreds of times by professional athletes? Just look at the MLB back and forth over Santana. Yea, he didn't use anybody. He jilted us. The Falcons could have offered him a better package then what the Dolphins offered, they didn't seem to want Parcells bad enough and Morton benefited from all of the coverage he garnered from the story... I don't see anyone group being used. I see a bunch of fans on both sides of the fence waving fingers at each other over the disappointment.. but that's about it.
  8. Very different. Very, very different. How so? Please enlighten us since you think so highly of your own opinion.
  9. He didn't use anybody.. have we not seen this happen dozens if not hundreds of times by professional athletes? Just look at the MLB back and forth over Santana.
  10. Point me to the verbal agreement. Parcells made it pretty clear he was "pretty sure" about the job.. which doesn't mean he 100% wants the job.
  11. You are spot on. The few times I've switched jobs to move up in the world financially I've used this exact technique. What people like Statz don't seem to comprehend is that what Parcells can do on a media level is done on a personal level by millions of people every year...people get job offers, they "leak" the information to their current employer or potential employer and see if they'll bite. It's pretty clear who has and who hasn't used this technique on this MB from the reaction people are having to this story. "I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it. [Owner] Arthur [blank] and I have had some pretty constructive discussions. I basically will oversee the football operations. We'll meet today -- not in Atlanta -- and work out some of the final details but I don't think there's any deal breakers here," Parcells said earlier. Also, "pretty sure" doesn't mean he's signed a contract yet, so Parcells is not a snake by any means.
  12. Yes, you are an idiot. Tell me how this: "I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it. [Owner] Arthur [blank] and I have had some pretty constructive discussions. I basically will oversee the football operations. We'll meet today -- not in Atlanta -- and work out some of the final details but I don't think there's any deal breakers here," Parcells said earlier. Is the same as a Head Coach quiting, with 3 games left to play.
  13. Explain to me how this statement means Parcells was 100% committed to the Falcons.
  14. Like I said before, contract had nothing to do with it. Blank already knew Petrino wanted to leave. It's the fact that he lied about it. Word is bond. BP = BP. His exact words... "I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it." -Parcells http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3160597 Where does he say he's going to do it? Going by your logic THINKING about jumping off a bridge means you're obligated to doing it. :w00t:
  15. dude....give him a break he has not signed with us, so he can't be petrino.....if had signed thats one thing...but moving one way and then going another is just him making a decision.... It's the samething. Blank wasn't mad that Petrino left. He was mad that Petrino said he was staying and then the next day, he's gone. BP = BP. This is ridiculous he hasn't even accepted anything with Miami yet and you are already calling him Petrino. I swear people act like idiots on this board. This is ridiculous he hasn't even accepted anything with Miami yet and you are already calling him Petrino. I swear people ARE idiots on this board. Fixed it for you.
  16. dude....give him a break he has not signed with us, so he can't be petrino.....if had signed thats one thing...but moving one way and then going another is just him making a decision.... It's the samething. Blank wasn't mad that Petrino left. He was mad that Petrino said he was staying and then the next day, he's gone. BP = BP. Petrino under contract... Parcells NOT under contract... not the same.. Like I said before... it's pretty clear you've never taken the opportunity to field better job offers from potential employers.
  17. The difference is that Parcells has not signed anything yet. In 1992, Parcells made a handshake agreement to become head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the last minute, Parcells opted not to take the job. Parcells did not feel the situation was right for him at that time. Tampa Bay owner Hugh Culverhouse said, "I feel like I've been jilted at the altar." It's pretty clear that you haven't ever negotiated with a potential employer over your potential salary before.
  18. The difference is that Parcells has not signed anything yet. Beat me to the punch... what's wrong with looking for more money before you even take a job? Bill Parcells has more class in his right thumb then Petrino has in his entire body. If the Dolphins make the better offer, more power to them.
