  1. Considering that we are playing a home game in London in two days, I have a feeling that Blank would be okay with it.
  2. Wow, you weren't kidding about the article being long. Anyway, I did read the article, and while I won't pretend to be as knowledgeable as either the author or Mike Nolan, I feel like it's very easy to see that we're not properly using our players. The biggest point in the article is the one I most agree with. Get Mass in the game more often and FFS don't drop him into coverage, have him rush the QB! Then again, I could be wrong. I am currently drinking this season down the drain and waiting to see who Mr. Blank hires next year. My wife is almost getting used to being a Falcons fan, but my six month old daughter still doesn't understand why daddy gets so depressed for 3 hours every Sunday.
  3. I don't know what group I was in, but this year, I'm just getting drunk and pretending that we're undefeated.
  4. Also, to those saying TL;DR, this is standard fare for TDWII, and has been for a long time. Good, well written opinions. Sometimes I even agree with them. If you don't know that already, you obviously haven't been reading the boards long enough.
  5. I agree, I wasn't one who had issues with Ryan last year, and if that was who he was, I was okay with it. I'll still take last year's Ryan over all but the top 3 QBs in the league. That being said, yesterday's Ryan was not the same guy. He played like a guy who was terrified to lose, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's just one week, but dammit I'm excited about this year. Step it up defense, we only get so many chances.
  6. That night may have been the most enthusiastic I have ever been as a Falcons fan. Brees getting intercepted should have been counted out by LeBron James... Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4...
  7. I love the way Hawley plays the game. He has had some ups and downs, but he's exactly the type of personality I want anchoring the O-line. McClure got a lot of hate around here too. If Hawley turns into MudDuck 2.0 I'd be thrilled.
  8. I'm right there with you. I moved out of state 9 years ago, and I've got a 3 month old daughter, so I'll be lucky to get to even one game (although I'll do my best). I believe in this team.
  9. Good ol' fragile #72. Not much better when he's healthy. One of my most used gameday phrases to yell at the TV is "G*d-d**mit BAKER!"
  10. New article on MMQB, too weird formatting to post here, so here's the link: http://mmqb.si.com/2013/11/20/julio-jones-roddy-white-matt-ryan-atlanta-falcons-decimated-by-injuries/ Just FYI, I really don't know what my opinion is yet on the coaching/GM situation, so don't shoot the messenger if you disagree. Sorry if repost, checked several pages back and didn't see it.
  11. I hope this classic has the same mojo it did in '07. Great work as always Supes!
  12. No, no, let's just say it was retired. "Failed" isn't a word I'd ever associate with the Hick'ry Stick. And thanks for bringing it up, it gave me an excuse to teach my wife about another part of Falcoholic Lore. I still look back at some of your old cartoons, great stuff.
  13. Sounds like everyone wants him to clean up the stain of Lofton.
  14. I'm not religious (nor spiritual or anything. Just agnostic), but having listened to the podcast with Banks and several other interviews, it's clear that his faith is very deep and personal for him. I'm fine with him praying on the field, and honestly, it's touching to see someone quietly but visibly go about their business with faith playing its part. The picture of him says more to me about his faith than a million athletes thanking god first in interviews ever could.
  15. You do realize that when someone says "part of me wants..." it means that there is a greater part of them that doesn't feel the same way right? No need to get snippy. I never said "BB IZ DA FUTURE" or anything, and I think we can all agree that MLB isn't exactly our deepest position. Why not hold out hope that a guy who deserves a decent life from here on out might make good? Also, he's been in NFL camps for 2 years now, with a UFL camp and 4 games last year after he didn't make our team or the Seahawks. Not like he just got out of prison anymore. Whatever. He's a feel-good story and he seems like a great guy with a good head on his shoulders. I'm going to root for him as long as he's a Falcon.
  16. I can't help but root for Brian Banks. ****, part of me wants him to start over Dent. I just think the mental toughness to make it through what he did will go a long way to making him a great player. Give us reports! Also, a special thanks to the people who attend camp and report to those of us out of state fans who can't make it. You guys/ladies rock!
  17. I hope they both play so well that Asante is on the bench by week 4. And I love me some PickSix22.
  18. Heh, that's my line at the bar here in Birmingham: "Dammit, I was here in 2007, and I didn't see YOU!"
