  1. Quinn did something that few of you realized. We score and go up by one. If we try the XP and it is fumbled or blocked, the 9ers can return it 100 yards to destroy us. So he decided to take a knee so we control our fate by squib kicking the kickoff and, of all things, score another touchdown. I was impressed to say the least. No, I haven't been a Quinn admirer this year, but this may have tilted my opinion to stick with him a while.
  2. I am a Ronald Acuna fan. I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm. However has he gone blind? Do the Braves have a hitting coach? Can someone tell me why he is hit less in his last 15 at bats? Without being over dramatic, I have never seen someone so completely helpless at home place. Enough of watching him slowly walk back to the bench and sit there.I remember they got Donaldson out to hit against a pitching machine and it did help.Acuna has 160 strike outs so far. Hank Aaron's worst strike out season produced 97 SO. He never broke 100 in 23 years of playing in the majors. What is wrong?
  3. Flame me, cut me, I really don't care. Alford is a freaking joke. Chasing down a receiver in the first half and holds his hands out as the penalty flag lays next to him on the ground. How about the long pass that the Cowboys hit near the end to get into FG position. Replay showed he was nowhere close. Those are just two examples. We could not stop their running, we could not stop their passing. How we drop to one of the worst defenses in one season is beyond me. Simple, its lose people to injuries (starters) and have the veteran starters like Alford and Trufont play poorly. I read where Alfo

  5. I cannot fathom why Alford is playing in this league. I saw #23 chasing receivers all night long. He is terrible. I saw one play where the Giant's receiver was in our secondary with two or three Falcons trying to tackle him and Alford stopped and stood there watching. I know there are injuries. Watch a player like Kazee and then watch Alford. There is no comparison. From Atlanta All Day: Cornerback Robert Alford was beaten like a drum in this game. He was a part of the coverage for an unheard of three plays of 50 yards or more. Two of which he was toasted, despite being called for holdi
  6. The rebirth of Jamaal Anderson (running back for Atlanta). Great year, got hurt, was never the same
  7. Sorry for the re-post. I didn't see the original; one. If its not coaching then someone has invented a newer excuse.
  8. Short and sweet---- 15 penalties in week 1 and 10 yesterday. Add em up and the yardage is approx. 250 yards. Who is coaching our team?????
  9. Since 1940, teams scoring 36 plus points at home with zero turnovers are 402-4. Think about that for a minute. In the last 78 years only two teams have done that and lost. The Falcons have done that two weeks in a row!!!!
  10. Those weren't VIP's trying to get out. I am serious, I'm a guy trying to go home and it was pathetic. Not lying here.
  11. I sat in aisle 338 today. Afterwards I walked to the escalators that led downstairs to Gate 1. It was roped off by stadium management and they told me to take an elevator (which holds 10 people) or walk down the steps. They also told 72,000 people the same thing so the stairs were crammed full. Bottom line, it took me almost 30 minutes to get out. If someone with an ounce of sense doesn't get involved there is going to be a stampede and people will get hurt. Imagine Saint and Falcons fans crammed together and barely moving.. There is a problem here.. a big problem.
  12. I was very happy with Atlanta's performance yesterday. One question I have about Matt Ryan. He threw two lame duck long passes in the game. One was a long pass early on that never made it to the receiver. The second was a long pass to Julio t the goal line area that he stopped on and was intercepted. Were the passes tipped, was Ryans arm hit, does anyone know what happened?
  13. Let me rephrase this--- the seating area is normally dim which is fine. When you mix it with a heavy dose of sunlight it is very hard to see without squinting. It was a problem. I am not talking about heat! Most of the field was extremely bright with the outer areas dark.
  14. On a scale of 1-10 this is probably a 0 but I thought it would make for a good discussion. When I went to the scrimmage/practice at the Mercedes Benz stadium, the dome was opened at 12:10 pm. I noticed a really bad glare from the 20 yard line to the opposite 20. The sun was directly overhead. They closed it before 1 pm. I hope that the Falcons don't try and play with the glare just for the sake of having the top open. I will say that they do a nice job of pumping in cooling are which made things comfortable. There is no way that they can play in the bad glare. I am sure they saw the same thing
  15. I was at the very first regular season game played in 1966. I was 14 years old. We lost to the Rams 14-19. I was just thrilled to see Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers. I still go and want to see a Super Bowl championship one day.
  16. We have a good football team. We've made the playoffs two years in a row. My question is a relatively weak effort of signing a tight end, offensive or defensive line help, etc. While other teams target their FA signings with their needs, we plug holes with cheap help. I can only hope they are serviceable because draft players are usually 2-3 down the road before they gain the experience needed.I know the salary cap is a problem. We are not the only team battling salary cap. The tight end FA we just signed only blocks. He averages 10 catches a year. The new OG appears no better than what we hav
  17. A real tight end is Tony Gonzales. Hooper is not a Tony Gonzales
  18. I saw the first game the Falcons ever played. It was in Sept 1966 and they lost to the Rams 19-14. It was such a thrill to see NFL football.
  19. I sold my PSL's through PSL SOURCE.com. Made a small profit but they took 10% and handled the whole thing. Signed paperwork, they contacted the Falcons, and I got my check. Very easy to deal with and responded promptly when I had questions. I was satisfied.
  20. Watching Jacksonville vs Pittsburgh is a pleasure rather than thinking bout the Falcons. They are up by 7 in the 4th quarter and still throw the ball. None of that "lets hope we can milk the clock" b.s.They are standing toe to toe with the Steelers and whipping their butts. This is football Dan Quinn. Not that offensive crap we watched all year long. You need to make decisions that are best for the team and not just because they make previous decisions look stupid. Sark wasn't Quinn's choice, but allowing him to call plays all year despite substandard offensive results was.
  21. I am thrilled with the win. My only question is why we never throw into the end zone? Until Julio caught the TD pass that Ryan slipped on, we had settled for FGs and never went into the end zone. Also, no screens, no misdirection's. The Ram couldn't hold onto the ball which helped us. Just wondering
  22. Like I said when I posted this.... Coleman is out and Kamara is playing.for NO. We have yet to have someone spend only 1 week out.
  23. If I am not mistaken, every Falcons player who has gone through this program has taken 2 weeks to get back onto the field. Kamara (Saints) last listed as ready to go this Sunday. Tevin Coleman was hurt the same day and he is not playing Sunday.A player for Houston was obviously hurt on Sunday and let back in the game. There is something that doesn't seen right. I know that there are different levels of head trauma, but every one we have had was multi weeks out. Devonta Freeman out two weeks. Tevin Coleman out two weeks.. Desmond Trufant two weeks. Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints, 5 days
