  1. The argument for trying not to win games seems to be that it is pointless to play any given year unless you win a championship. I don't think that way; I try to enjoy every game the Falcons play and always hope for a win. Of course, I want a Super Bowl victory, but it doesn't mean that going to the games was a waste of time if we didn't get one. Life is way too short to be miserable if you are not lifting a Lombardi. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family cheering for the team, win or lose. I hope to someday see Matt Ryan smiling with confetti falling all around him, but prefer not to intentionally try to lose to have the very small chance of getting there.
  2. Wins are never meaningless to fans such as myself that actually go to the games. Most teams that lose at the end of the year are still terrible the next year. I vote “win every game you can and worry about next year next year”.
  3. That’s actually not true. My tickets this year are less than what I was paying in the Dome. You can get upper level sideline seats for around $75 on Stubhub. Premium seats are obviously more expensive, but even 50 yard line 2nd level Club seats (in my opinion, the best seats in the house) can be had for a little over $200.
  4. Like you, I never left the message board. It sounds like you made a sound financial decision and I applaud that. You certainly could have gotten great seats for much less if you wanted, just not second row midfield. You had a bargain, but now those seats go for the market price. There are many midfield club mezzanine seats available for much less if you wanted to continue to go to games. Obviously, your call. I choose to go to every game.
  5. Because real fans don’t go to the Benz and sit in the upper deck LOL. Look on Stubhub for tix; there are choices at all price points.
  6. If “prices are cheap”, then our fans should go to the games. It’s not on ticket prices; it’s on the fans.
  7. Like you were going to the game anyway...
  8. If I recall correctly, the coach most sought after along with Quinn was Rex Ryan... And many on the Board wanted Kyle Shanahan’s head after his first year here (and after the Super Bowl). It’s a very inexact science; I think our ownership is awesome. Most NFL owners are FAR worse.
  9. Welp, he did throw for 400 yards today. I still think offensive line needs to get better so he has more time and we can get a running game started.
  10. I’m a Falcon fan win or lose. We are only 4 games into a 16 game season, and there really aren’t any amazing teams in our division. Not throwing in the towel until we are mathematically eliminated.

  16. Any comment on how that pic of the old stadium was only 25% full at most during the pictured game?
  17. #59...De'Vondre Campbell (shown being "congratulated for excellent play" by DQ)!
  18. LOL, no offense taken. I do think it’s funny though how it is often stated on the board that the folks who go to games now aren’t real fans.
  19. Average attendance for United games is still far less than Falcons, but still best in MLS. They don't require PSLs and tickets are cheaper, but there are a LOT more games, and each game is not as "meaningful" as an NFL game. Just because we pay to go to Falcons games, we are not less of "real fans" than those that don't or can't. I personally travel 250 miles from Northeast Tennessee for every home game (now in my 12th year!), so I think I qualify as a real fan.
  20. Wow, that is a really bad string of bad luck and bad service. First of all, you probably need to switch banks if yours declined 2 payments and didn't let you know. I get a text, email and a phone call for anything weird that happens with my credit card. My MB rep does contact me by email (as I have requested), but I do get phone calls for anything important that I need to do. I am astonished that you had your PSL cancelled without a phone call; I imagine that they didn't have your number on file, they had your payment declined by your bank, and then thought you were ignoring their means of contacting you (email). I can understand, but still terrible luck. There are other PSLs in the Founders Section for sale on the secondary market for about the same price you originally paid (some more, some less), so I would think if you wanted to get back in without a financial loss, you could.
  21. Bears. Best. Game. Ever.
  22. Neither I nor any family member works for the organization. I just add my opinion because, having studied and gone through the entire process, I think I understand the PSL benefits and downside better than most posters on the board. There is a lot of blatantly false information spread by some. In my experience, the Falcons have been totally honest and up front with me. I understand that Falcons Inc. is a business. It seems to me that they are a good one. They provide a product I want and enjoy, and they make a profit from it. I bought my PSL very early in the process. I was told that I would get early access to most events at the new stadium, but not SEC Championship games or Super Bowl. Only the 45k PSLs were going to get those. I posted that on the board at that time, and I believe it should have been well-known to pretty much everyone. If your rep told you different, then he/she was not truthful. That was not my experience.
  23. http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance It certainly looks as if Atlanta did better with the Benz than Tampa did... Not all PSLs cost thousands. Whether or not it makes sense to purchase one is a personal decision, but even blue collar workers can get cheap seats. And the cheaper food choices help lower income fans have a better experience.
  24. Fan-friendly food prices have been a big PR hit for the Benz, and I certainly enjoy not getting hosed over snacks for the game. It has been so successful that several other stadiums in the NFL are planning to add as well. Tampa's stadium is half-empty for their games. There is no atmosphere there, corporate or otherwise. You can always get cheap seats there. The Benz is a MUCH better atmosphere.
  25. I was told SPECIFICALLY that I would not have access to my usual seats for SEC championship and Super Bowls. I'm pretty sure it was written in my contract. I feel confident that you were not told that you would get those with your seats. The inflated price that you saw for SB was probably the NFL OnLocation package. Those were available to the public and included more than just the seat.
