Clark Kent™ got a reaction from Vandy in Which player do you think will be the biggest pleasant surprise on the Falcons this upcoming season?
I also agree that Tak is going to step up. I have zero doubts in his ability. And this is a big year for him. Even if he doesn't want to be here he knows that this entire season is an audition for 31 other teams. He's gonna get double digit sacks and go somewhere else next year. To the opposite, I think Fowler is gonna be very average.

I agree with you on that. I do feel Terrell was definitely graded too harshly for the LSU game. I also feel that he got way too much praise for a pick 6 on a horrendous throw that any CB would make. Especially a 1st rounder. In my eyes, you shouldn't get too much praise for something that you're expected to do.
And that is exactly what he did. He talked AJ up for a pick 6 that he should have made. Just because it was on a big stage like the national championship. And talked him up on a pick that he made on a grossly underthrown ball against Vandy or whoever it was. Yeah he was in good coverage, but that was a terribly thrown pass. Its like giving credit to a pass rusher who gets a sack because the QB holds on to the ball so long. Its not an accurate representation of that pass rushers skill set.

And Tampa’s line wasn’t much better and doesn’t seem to have improved much considering they appear to be returning 4 of their 5 starters from 2019, only replacing Dotson with Wirfs which is an improvement but not the overhaul they need for that unit.
Brady may still have more arm strength and even better targets (which is debatable*), but Brees has a far better OL, a far better running game to lean on, and is in an offensive system he’s proven he can excel in, even in the twilight of his career.
Meanwhile Brady is going to an offensive system designed to push the ball downfield 35+ times per game, behind a patchwork OL, and no notable running game worth mentioning. We’ve seen at nearly every one of Arians’ NFL stops (5 of 6 stops as a QB/OC/HC) his refusal to adjust his system to his QB and as a result his QB post their career high interception total. I’m skeptical will be any different with Brady, especially since his current career high INT total is only 14.
Last year Brady averaged 38.3 pass attempts per game; 242 of his 613 attempts (39.5%) came in games where he threw 35+ times and they won by 14+ points.
Winston averaged 39.1 pass attempts per game and 364 of his 626 attempts (58.2%) of his attempts came in a losing effort. That’s going to be a ***** slap of reality for Brady if he’s throwing the ball 40+ times a game and the losses pile up. The honeymoon could be over not long after it begins in Tampa.
    * I said it’s debatable because I’d still take Thomas over Evans, Cook over 2020 Broken Gronkowski, both our RB’s over whatever they’re planning on trotting out there this year, and I’d also take Kamara over whoever their WR3 is considering they’ll catch about the same amount of balls. Really the only person in that offense I’d take over his Saints counterpart is Godwin and it’s mostly because of Sanders’ age.

Clark Kent™ got a reaction from Francis York Morgan in Who do you think is our 3rd best wide receiver?
Treadwell will be a back up on the outside and Gage will continue to work out of the slot is my guess. Thats if Treadwell even stays which is not a guarantee. Dude played with two awesome receivers (Diggs and Thielen) so the notion that "playing with Julio he will be around one of the best" is stupid af to me. We will see. I'd love for him to have it all click.

Just because you CAN do a thing, doesn't mean that you SHOULD do that thing.
Certain people do themselves no favors by being on social media.  Takk is a perfect example of this.

This is true, but at best Hawkins is the #4 safety. If Neal isn't ready to go Rico and Kazee would start. They might even prefer a vet like Cooper or Neasman to start over Hawkins at this point.
Not hating on Hawkins but we've often bedded safeties in pretty slowly. Moore, Decoud, Rico & Kazee all essentially had redshirt years. The only one to make an immediate impact was Neal.

I'm not overly concerned about the D line. We have a solid group of guys. I do trust Tak and Fowler to provide a pass rush on the edges with Jarret doing his thing on the inside. I hope that MD can come in and make an immediate impact, but I'm not expecting it.
I"m wayyyyy more concerned about the LB's and secondary.

I loved the Takk pick, and still do. In that draft though, it should've been obvious to everyone that Watt was far more polished and NFL ready than everyone else.

That still remains to be seen. We added Fowler who yes I don't think is some super talented pass rusher, but who knows. Maybe he comes in and can be a double digit sack guy. We also don't know if Tak is gonna be here next year or not. We may win a lot of games this year and his attitude completely change. He may get hurt and realize that people won't be beating down the door for his services. I have no idea.
My whole point going into this draft and pretty much every other draft for the next few years is, sacrifice future picks while we have Matty and Julio at their age. I especially was high on Wirfs because he solidifes our LG spot (while showing capability to play RG or even OT) and protects Matty for the rest of his career with Lindstrom and McGary.
Regardless, I like the draft and the players we got. I'm expecting big things.

I like Neal a lot. He seems like a quality dude off the field and a great pro. And I'm surprised by so many people on this forum who are already wanting to get rid of him or even questioning his future. I just can't see it. What he brings on the field is something that no one else on our roster can do or in the entire league. I really really hope he can stay healthy.
