Remember when Mike Smith was here he had a couple core rules for all of his teams? Run the ball, win every quarter of the season, etc. One of them was to protect your house and in hindsight I really took that for granted. If I saw we were in the dome, I knew we'd more than likely win that game.

Now whenever I turn on the TV and see the design for the Benz I get a bad feeling about the game. I haven't run the numbers but I'm pretty sure our record in the Benz is horrible. That is a direct indictment on Quinn. When you have your fans behind you, your team should be that much better.

    Preach it my brother.

Looks like the Falcons will have to spend one of those 2nd Rounders on a RB come April. Cannot go into 2020 without a running game, or it will be more of the same. Hill had his chance to shine today and certainly did not!

If the OL is the problem, then we need a shifty type RB like Freeman in his prime, not someone who is a cut-and-run type RB. We now officially have no answers currently on the the team at RB for 2020.

We dominated in this game because the OL is decent at pass block, and we have a elite duo of WRs with Jones/Ridley. We would not have even won this game today against a better team, that could have focused on the passing attack once the they had shut down the run.

This team has relied too long on what was the ghost of Devonta Freeman's elite play, hoping it was some how going to come back to life. The coaching staff and FO really did not have the right to expect that it would. More than anything else I think that is what cost us the 2019 season. There was no back-up plan, did not bring in a veteran through FA or with a trade (Barner not withstanding).

We dominated this game because of defense.

This is not a super bowl caliber team; it's an illusion based on how totally horrible they were the first eight games.

The fact that they're playing inspired defense the past couple games against division foes makes them look a lot better than they really are.  But don't get me wrong...they look really good now.

And it's fun beating NFCS enemies, draft order and all that tank crap be dammed.

Based on the last two games, this team is unstoppable. Allowing 12 points in two games with no touchdowns is sort bowel caliber football. That was two good teams by the way.

Who would've even thought that two weeks ago that we would go to New Orleans AND Carolina and put up a combined 55 points while only giving up 12 with not one touchdown?  I'm still shaking my head but I am loving this!

Trying to understand that is the equivalent of asking, "What is the meaning of life?"

I may be in the minority but during the preseason I thought this defense played very well. And then the regular season started.  And it looked like a different defense. The defense had played lights out the last two weeks.  Defense wins championships. If this defense can stay consistent,  then this team can win.  It may be too little too late, but if this defense stays consistent,  I will be a proud Falcons fan. There was no pride the first 8 weeks.  No pride in being a fan,  and no pride on the defensive side of the ball.

Loving it watching the Falcons on Sunday the last 2 weeks. Dan Quinn stopped calling plays on defense or is very limited at the most with his input as far as we know. Just wondering if Koetter is doing the same thing or not, having someone else assist him or take over some of the play calling? I mean sure at this point Quinn is making a good case to be retained next year. Is the guy, (whoever that we hired as the Falcons in game manager), doing anything, apart of the team still? Because if so what is Quinn’s job now? In game/practice motivator?

A 7-9 Seahawks made the playoffs. No they didn't win the SB but getting to the playoffs and seeing what might happen would be fun. A long way to go but its fun for now.

Watching this team one month ago was depressing.  Watching them the the last two weeks had been puzzling,  but amazing.

  7. I've been reading this board for well over a decade but very rarely post anything.  This defense is so horrible that I can't be silent as anymore. This is rhe lowest I've been on this team since the Vick/Petrino disaster year. This is possibly the worst defense I've seen since following this team for 30 years. That's saying aalot about the absolute disaster we're witnessing. I have zero confidence and worse than that. Zero hope.
