  1. So I am living here in Hawaii, and me and my roommate are pretty close friends. He is that type of person that always means the absolute best, but always f's something up, bad. I understand that people get tired of each other, and sometimes you can only be with another person for so long before it drives you nuts.

The kicker was about 5 days ago when he borrowed my vehicle, and left it unlocked. Long story short, the car was definately not in the garage (which is right next to the road) the next morning. It cost about $1200, but he definately can not pay for it.

I haven't talked to him since, he knows he royally f'd up. You can tell that he feels worthless, and even know I hate him, I don't want to see him this sad about his outlook on life. Should I not talk to him at all or is this something that needs to be dropped?

  2. I'll say we once again will pick in the top 3.

Firstly, as good or bad Ryan can be, one cannot expect him to carry a team his rookie season.

Next we have 2 very talented but still very young corners. They will take another year or 3 to fully develop.

God honest, our line sucks. Our right side on O needs to be revamped, and 3 positions on our D-line. Anderson is our only long term prospect, and I see him failing another year or 2 until we fill up the middle.

We need 2 more solid drafts to have a complete team. Sure we could of picked other players and made ourselves better right now, but this is one **** of a long term haul we are in for.

Next year, we will have to address our o-line, DT, a replacement for highway 56, maybe futue for Abe, and our SS. Obviously we cannot get all of these with quality players in one draft.

This year I predict a 4-12 year. It will be one where we were in position to win 4-5 more, but we just happened to be on the wrong side.

2009 season I say we go 8-8, but after that, the sky is the limit.

Ok, so maybe I am preparing myself for the possibility that we don't land Glenn Dorsey. But, this might surprise some folks. College statistics are important if to me, especially when put in perspective.

First, we need to put this in perspective. Peyton Manning played on a very talented offense, Ryan was not so fortunate. Anyone who would argue otherwise is ********. On that same theme, it is important to note that the SEC in 1997 is tougher then last year's ACC Conference.

Notable talent on the '97 Tennessee team. Marcus Nash WR, Trey Teague C, Peerless Price WR (Surprisingly good in college :P), Jamaal Lewis RB, Chad CliftonOT, Cosey Coleman G.

Notable talent on the '07 Boston College team. Gosder Cherilus OT and that pretty much sums it up.

    Manning's'97 Statistics:

    CompAttempts Yards %TD INTRatio TD% INT%

    4772873819 60.3737 113.36/1 7.8 2.3

    Ryan's '07 Statistics:

    CompAttempts Yards %TD INTRatio TD% INT%

    654 388450759.3 31191.63/14.7 2.9

    *

Certainly Peyton's ratios are better. However, INT% is indicative of decision making on the field and Matt is right there with Peyton. The completion %'s are in line as well. I would make the case that the TD/INT ratio is attributed to the lack of talent Matt was working with.

All I am trying to do is point out that Matt Ryan is a top shelf QB, at least relative to the talent in this draft.

I think Brohm has shown he panics under pressure...he did in college, no doubt. Henne has failed to live up to expectations. Flacco is as unproven as they come and couldn't work his way into the starting lineup @ Pittsburgh, that should say alot.

On top of all this, the message board members seem to be the only people who don't like Matt Ryan.

The most notable talking heads seem to all think he is the best QB prospect in this draft. Not only that, some very talented talking heads are in love with Ryan.

If Dimitroff pulls the trigger, I will be satisfied and look forward to filling our needs later in the draft....this draft is pretty deep in the areas we need help.

First we have Peyton throwing a 8 ypa vs. Ryan's 6.8.

Also if you see Ryan's TD %, it is right there with what we had with Harrinton this year. A lot of yards but no scores.

Ryan had more picks, less touchdowns (and not by a little bit) lower passer rating, less yards per attempt. There is no comparison. Find a qb that matches up better before throwing out random stats.

You state that maybe throwing to the RB was the best choice, once again we have a perfect QB for that. In fact, that seems like all he did. So lets not draft a Qb to throw to Turner and Norwood.

  4. First I wonder why your mock is your "dream" but you change it up because you don't think Blank will fly. If it is your dream mock, then put that, not a mix between that and one that Blank might want.

Brandon Albert played G for a reason. This will be a hard step up just to play the same position in the NFL. To move him to Tackle is a set up for failure.

In the second round you have us taking Langford, but then in the depth chart you have him listed as 4th, with Okam starting. Also, we don't need a lean DT, especially if you have Babs starting.

I like Cottam if he is avail. in that position.

We would be extremely vulnerable to the pass rush with 2 guards (you moved Blaylock over as well) playing T. With another rookie playing guard, we would need to put in a max protect on all deep passes. This would under utilize both our brand new Turner, as well as Norwood.

Our offense would not have a deep threat, as there would be no time for our wrs run longer routes, and that they would be double even triple covered if we kept everyone in to block.

Defensively, running in the middle would be a cake-walk at hardest, with 2 speed rushing ends and a speed rushing DT. Passing would be little harder as a rook on one side and the still developing Houston.

Other than the O and D lines, I like what you have done, drafting for depth and future, but due to the exploitations other teams could use, it would be a long year.

  5. Cool. Looks like all of this is non-interactive (except for the celebrations, but non gameplay at least) but all good in the same token. The announcers of 07/08 was too generic and predictable.

The only reason I wouldn't mind having Michaels/Madden in there is that they already have thousands of lines of dialoge, so why waste more time. Add in an extra 20% take out some that are out dated, and there you go.

I think that in their second full year of current-gen developing, things are really gonna shine. I have been a very outspoken critic of the last 3 years, hopefully they change my mind.

My bet is that for the cover, they target AP. He not only let the world on fire last year, but is in a situation to succeed, and not follow the Madden Curse. Some others that I have thought that may grace the cover are; Brees, Brady, Boldin/Fitz or maybe Roethlisberger.

I just got it yesterday and have already put 5 or so hours into it.

    The goods-

Looks pretty amazing, at times it gets to dark, but everything looks terrific.

Sounds great! turn up the volume and you can really hear the engine roar.

Extremely balanced. Everything just seems right.

    The Decent -

Selection of cars. Did great on the super cars, but the lower end models could use a update.

Difficulty - After beating the game, the only real obstacles this game presents is putting you as far back as possible and having you win a short race.

    The bad -

Collision detection is horrible. You can be in constant contact with another vehicle, yet see that you are easily 6 inches from it.

Online play is a joke. No game modes, no real lobbies, just select your car, and what division you want to race in.

NO DAMaGE*!!! I have had games 10 years ago (Nascar 99) that have this.

Load times are slow, and at times unresponsive.

No after market parts, so once you have your car, your done.

    * may come as a download add-on

Overall this game shows that it really is a demo. Much is needed to improve, and it is sad knowing that they are only this far in such a long time frame. It loses its fun factor really quick due to lack of a true online experience. I give it a 5/10.

    - Damage is coming, but probably not until fall. Damage isn't easy to implement if you want to do it correctly. It's complex physics as you'd have to be knowledgeable in plasticity. Nascar 99 damage isn't good, GTA San Andreas damage isn't good. DiRT and Burnout Paradise damage is sufficient, but they'd be hard to implement in a driving simulator.

Should be coming soon nonetheless though.

    - Online will be fixed very soon in terms of you'll be able to invite friends instead of the current matchmaking method.

    - A GT Prologue never had the vehicle tweaking aspect that is in the final games. GT4 Prologue didn't have it either. GT5 will, however, have it.

I understand the fact that Nascar's damage is for the most part unrealistic. However, damage incured lead to visible damage, as well as disrupting the aerodynamics of a car that made it semi-realistic.

My point is that 10 years later, by a powerhouse studio none the less, this is a distinctive failure. Also the difference between a PS3 and a N64 is utter rediculous.

Forza will probably come out with its third game in the same span between GT4 and GT5. I see that it is not completely a simulator, but it does more than scratch the surface. Forza allowed much more customization, damage, and rivaled the quality of GT.

It has been over 3 years since the last GT, and PD is yet to fix simple mistakes. The AI still drives as if you were not there, very wreckless. When you hit a vehicle, instead of spinning out or losing control, in GT all it does is move your whole car over as if a force was pushing upon the whole car equally.

I know that these updates are coming soon, but once again we have waited 3 years! How long do they need. PD already has a Demo of a demo. Then a demo of the real game. Yet the release date is scheduled for 2009. After 4 years maybe we will finally see this true racing "simulator".

Guys, the jokes are way uncool and totally out of line. You're aware that there are 1.3 billion Muslims in thwe world, and around 1.2 billion of them don't hate you or even think about you much at all.

    Rise above.

Yes that is quite fortunate that 1.2 billion don't believe that. I am currently studying Islam, (for school not for religion) and the Koran itself tells you to hate other people. Luckily most Muslims do not feel this way, but the stronger the tie to their religion is the stronger hatred of our ways.

I agree, we should rise above, and not make these claims against them, but if the true part of a group of people scream for your death, it can make you wonder why you should not feel the same.

At the same time, we have poured Trillions of dollars into the Middle East, totally #####-blocked any country from attacking Saudi Arabai, protected Egypt at times, and even helped against the commie's in Afgan-land. I am not saying that we should be there right now by any means. I don't expect them to worship us, or even like us. But they absolutely hate us, and ask yourself this question. If they were as powerful as the U.S. and we were in their position, what would happen?

  9. I'd throw out the Wii for now, just because it is **** to find a new one.

Take into consideration if you play on-line over a wireless connection. The PS3 can read it, while you have to buy an add on for the 360.

If you want to watch high def movies, then The PS3 fits perfectly. There are rumors that the 360 will come with a blue-ray player later this year, but thats just a rumor.

What kind of games do you like. If you and your friends love playing mini-games and arcade adventures, then wait out for the Wii. It provides the most fun for having multiple people playing on the same system. But also realize that you won't be able to play any Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Madden (real version anyway) Halo, God of War, or Gears of War.

It doesn't seem like much, but paying for Live does add up and quick. Right now it argueably has an edge over PSN, but who knows what will happen when Home comes to the PS3.

As of right now, you could say that the 360 owns the PS3 in games. PS3 has 15 games that rate an 85 or higher on Metacritic, compared to the 360's 34. Also once again, if you look at what the 360 had in it's first year of service, it actually has less good games then the PS3.

More so now than ever though, most games are (as long as they are not made by Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft) and will become availible on all consoles. Simply that is how they make the most money.

So I gave you a whole bunch of facts, but here is what it comes down to.

If you are any of the following then get the Wii:

    12 years old or younger

Love playing cheesy mini-games with friends

Very casual gamer, that doesn't mind the occasional Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

If you are any of the following then get the 360:

    Fanboy

    Hate Sony

Love Halo, Gears of War, etc that will stay exclusive to the 360.

Like the past lineup of games that Micro has to offer.

Is cheaper in the short run, but more expensive in the long run.

    Same thing for the PS3:

    Love Blue-Ray Movies.

    Fanboy

Free service, and come with a system that is ready to roll out of the box.

Most powerful, therefore technically has most potential to create kick... games in the future

    Won't crap out on you.

With my own PS3, I have an external HDD attached on which I place my media files (like DivX movies, etc.). I do have some music files on the internal HDD since a lot of games that have custom soundtracks only use the internal drive.

I have access to other PS3's in which the HDD's been upgraded. It's actually a very short process... someone described it as "it was like sex with the PS3". I won't go into what he was trying to mean, but I figured it was a good thing.

You can use the backup/format/restore features to do so. I realize that you have decided otherwise, but I figured I'd post if you change your mind later or if somebody else is interested.

Samsung is releasing a 500-GB 2.5" SATA HDD soon... So now PS3 owners can use it in their console. We'll see a terabyte in the future I'm sure.

    http://gizmodo.com/365604/samsung-unleash-...llest-500gb-hdd

WtF could I use a terabyte for! I have a 100 gig computer, and I struggle to put 50 in it!

  11. Jp7833 (3/3/2008)
We have to take Jake Long at 3 if he is there. We have already put money into our DE's. All we have to do is plug the defensive line with a 300+ pounder, someone who can plug some holes leaving Abraham and Anderson some room to contain and rush the passer. If we dont take Jake Long third it will be the biggest mistake we have made since trading away the Favre.

As soon as you said Favre, I knew you had no idea what you were talking about. If Favre was not traded, he would of kept his addiction to pain killers, and continued his alcoholism. Favre is someone that could not of succeeded in this city. Just because he is a good Qb does not mean he would fit here.

  12. For all the Joe Flacco lovers.... go to youtube and click on the highest "highlight" video of his.

The first throw, behind the reciever.

Second throw, good throw, but incomplete in the NFL.

3rd, Decent 15 yard pass that Redman could make.

4th pass is a deep fade that was so open I could hit. But it was a nice in stride pass.

5th, scrambles from some slow a** then makes a good cross body throw.

6th is the first time he makes a **** good pass, threding the needle in between the lb, cb, and S

7th, defender totally misses going for a strip, didn't even try to make a tackle, doesn't happen in the NFL

8th, alright but behind the TE.

9th, shakes a guy pretty good, and makes a 7 yard pass.

10th, nice td pass, 3rd good play so far.

    11th, nice rocket.

12th, gets away from a de that has a tackle holding on for dear life, then the receiver cuts in front of the db for a **** of a catch.

My point is that Flacco played in a sub class division, played easier opponents, (did have a good 23 td's to 5 picks tho) and made only 4 really good plays on a whole highlight video. He is not any better than Redman, or for that matter, Harrington.

  13. Greenwood (2/29/2008)
Calm down people. Vilma is finished. Teams don't trade pro bowl caliber LBs in the prime of their career for a 4th round pick unless there is something seriously wrong with them (like 2 blown out knees).

If Vilma was so great and healthy, don't you think some other team could've offered a higher draft pick than the Saints 4th rounder?

    Your a #####

  14. I don't mean that the combine isn't important, I just believe that gameday is more important than running drills. **** if I was in the combine I'd run a 4.4 40. Does that mean i should be drafted, absolutely not.

I see that Mcfadden ran a terrific time. Thats great, but we do not need another small running back on our team, especially with the 3rd pick. I am not saying he is not worth the 3rd pick, just not in our situation.
