  1. They are not running their usual offense. Much less movement and passing than usual. . But nice three by Schroeder.
  2. Someone was trolling on Antic today. Nice three point pass by Teague
  3. Looks like Coach is giving Antic the night off.
  4. Yep. Very fresh, smooth and quick. Explosive to the hoop.
  5. I can't keep track of the trolls, but is Swift a Saints fan? Hawks play Pelicans Monday....
  6. Oh yeah . . . defense. Good point.
  7. Along those lines, with Carrol out, I would like to see a line up with Antic at center, Horford at Power Forward, Millsap at small forward, and Korver and Teague at guards. Last night they ran a lot of three guard lineups, and it did not seem like they were effective, but I would have to look at the stats.
  8. I think Antic Bashing is part of the process every new Hawks fan has to go through . . . Sort of like every new Falcons fan had to write a post about TJ Duckett getting moved to fullback to block for Dunn. I have certainly done my share of Antic bashing, especially during the playoffs last spring, when he really was off of his game. But, as I posted earlier, Antic is freakishly more than the sum of his parts. How else can you explain a guy going 0-5 on three's and 0 for 8 shooting and STILL be plus 15, the most on the team by 6!? He moves really well for a big man. He passes EXTREMELY well for a big man. He steps out and sets picks, and he actually does shoot well enough that he forces his man out of the paint when he goes to the perimeter. That is huge for opening the lane for our offense. On defense, going back to his movement, he is an integral part of the Hawks balance that permits constant switching without creating easy basket mismatches. Whoops! Last night might have been the exception that proves the rule. Antic has been icey from three points this week, and I think I did notice that the Blazers were not coming out on him when he was shooting from the perimeter. Although he had 7 points in 12 minutes, he was minus 9 . . . by far the worst on the team. Point being that in the past, he will drain the open three's and punish teams for not bringing their big men out of the paint. The Hawks use balance and movement to create "pick your poison" opportunities with the offense. Antic is an integral, if not so pretty, part of that.
  9. This is going to be my favorite Teague move for a while. . . at 1:50. Watching it happen at the game was jaw dropping. Listen to the crowd react. There is almost a gasp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8B0-J8iLL0

  11. Antic goes 0/8 shooting, 0/5 from three point . . . and has freakin' plus/minus of plus fifteen!!! Six more than the next best Hawk. The dude is freakishly more than the sum of his parts.
  12. Like Roddy White on Meth.
  13. Last night he did it RIGHT in front of a ref. Maybe it's one of those things that doesn't get called . . .
  14. At some point, probably during the playoffs, Korver is going to start getting called for pushing off of his man when he breaks to get open to receive passes for his 3 pointers. I think I even saw him tug a jersey to the left when he broke right. It's crafty, and he gets away with it, but if I'm seeing it, others are seeing it and teams will start having chats with the Ref's about it before games. So it's come to stuff like that to worry about with this Hawks team!!
  15. I assume you have a point here? What is it? Certainly, you agree with the Appellate Court's decision to block the initiative, right?
  16. Wow . . . . I can't believe I wasted time on this guy. Just wow. Shoot . . . . I can't even get my brain to function well enough to reach for my mouse and click "Post". I'm just stunned. Catatonic. No words, Worzone . . . . just no words. But heck, I'll try: Contemplate the rare combination of infinite ignorance AND arrogance necessary to post something like that. Really . . . . it just makes my brain explode.
  17. I think it is pretty clear that every religion "Teaches" people to engage in pretty abhorrent behavior. Your distinctions strike me as silly. Christianity is better than Judaism which is better than Islam because they don't "TEACH" as MUCH abhorrent behavior? Seems like you should have a problem with religion in general, my friend.
  18. What, specifically, are you asking about? Gritz has it pegged exactly.
  19. You mean like Jonah? How'd that work out for him?
  20. Thank you. I was afraid that I had not made myself sufficiently clear. I am going to randomly find five other of your posts like. I don't think Worzone is going to get it, though. Of course, if he would, he would not be defending his absurd position in the first place.
  21. Stop being absurd and recognize that it does not MATTER whether Christians recognize the old testament or not. JEWS DO!!!! So, please go ahead and tell me that my religion is barbaric, etc.
  22. Curious interpretation, and wholly irrelevant, as it most certainly applies to Jews. But I appreciate your total dismissal of my faith.
  23. Good Lord!!! No. 1:St Paul’s advice about whether women are allowed to teach men in church: “I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.” (1 Timothy 2:12) No. 2: In this verse, Samuel, one of the early leaders of Israel, orders genocide against a neighbouring people: “This is what the Lord Almighty says... ‘Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’” (1 Samuel 15:3) No. 3: A command of Moses: “Do not allow a sorceress to live.” (Exodus 22:18) No. 4: The ending of Psalm 137, a psalm which was made into a disco calypso hit by Boney M, is often omitted from readings in church: “Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9) No. 5: Another blood-curdling tale from the Book of Judges, where an Israelite man is trapped in a house by a hostile crowd, and sends out his concubine to placate them: “So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. He said to her, ‘Get up; let’s go.’ But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.” (Judges 19:25-28) No. 6: St Paul condemns homosexuality in the opening chapter of the Book of Romans: “In the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:27) No. 7: In this story from the Book of Judges, an Israelite leader, Jephthah, makes a rash vow to God, which has to be carried out: “And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, ‘If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, then whoever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return victorious from the Ammonites, shall be the Lord’s, to be offered up by me as a burnt-offering.’ Then Jephthah came to his home at Mizpah; and there was his daughter coming out to meet him with timbrels and with dancing. She was his only child; he had no son or daughter except her. When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, ‘Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low; you have become the cause of great trouble to me. For I have opened my mouth to the Lord, and I cannot take back my vow.’” (Judges 11:30-1, 34-5) No. 8: The Lord is speaking to Abraham in this story where God commands him to sacrifice his son: ‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2) No. 9: “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22) No. 10: “Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)
  24. Have you actually READ the Bible? The literal interpretations are pretty frightening . . . And before anyone wants to assert that I am being antiChristian, I most certainly am NOT. The nastiest stuff is from the Old Testament, which is my people. The problem is never the faith, it's the zealotry. Claiming jihad is fundamental to Islam is like saying that stoning to death anyone who breaks the Sabbath is fundamental to being Jewish or Christian. Disclaimer, it IS concerning that a seemingly larger percentage of Muslims are zealots. Not sure what that is about . . . .
