I would just quibble and say that Biden got lucky with Trump’s complete incompetence at handling covid.  If Trump had taken it seriously and handled it effectively, he’d still be president.

Of course.  I guess my point is not only did it get Biden elected, it gave him an opportunity to restore faith in the Government's ability to solve problems, which makes the agenda he set forth last night more palatable.

A few years from now the “big government” and “liberal spending” rhetoric will land more solid with voters.  But right now it’s just going to fall flat on its face. It’s just stupid messaging by the GOP.

I don't think it is unfair to argue that Biden got lucky with the Covid virus.

    1) It completely knocked Trump off his rails.

    2) The entire U.S. population - @GEORGIAfan recognizes Biden's vaccine program and general COVID response as a huge success.

    3) Biden's COVID response recreates the perception that good government can solve big problems.  So it opens the door for the rest of his agenda.

Never said he couldn’t wiggle out, IF this leads back to him.

But he is starting to run out of lives.

Someone hopes you are correct:  Liz Cheney retweeted the following.  And of course, she has been outspoken about Trump.  She was recently asked if she would Trump if he were the nominee in 2024.  She just said "No."

    She's running.

I like Damm coming in as a super sub. If were talking Titos role in late 2018 I think Damm can be that guy...maybe

Lopez probably should have gotten some minutes last night. It's a shame thiers no Open Cup as of yet to throw him out there and see if he could play as a primary scorer

Got to do something to break down these boxes tho. Were back to the worst stretches of Tata ball (which is still fun and 10x a better product than the FdB system) where teams just sit back and load the box with bodies and force us to take low percentage shots from outside the box and low % crosses while waiting to hit us on the counter

I like Damm as a super sub.  His speed would be devastating against tired legs.  He would almost force a substitution on the other team for whoever was in his area.

And, just as in the Tito days, this team needs to score first to score often.

  5. Liz Cheney is awful.  And, as depicted below.  Her TEETH are awful.  But I have to give her an incredible amount of credit for limiting her awfulness to the traditional boundaries of partisanship rather than power by any means, **** the Constitution, **** basic norms, and **** Democracy.

"I think we have a huge number of interesting candidates, but I think that we're going to be in a good position to be able to take the White House," she told the New York Post. "I do think that some of our candidates who led the charge, particularly the senators who led the unconstitutional charge, not to certify the election, you know, in my view, that's disqualifying."
She added: "I think that adherence to the Constitution, adherence to your oath has got to be at the top of the list. So, I think, you know that certainly will be a factor that I'm looking at and I think a number of voters will be looking at as they decide about '24."

Southern California Liar (I’m just going to call him SCL from now on), Mr. Hoopah, and I are friends.  We talk a lot off the boards.  If you think that’s what I’m doing then perhaps it’s because you’re seeing what you want to see and not paying attention to the actual conversation that’s going on.  You might go back to the original posts on this topic and see the progression.  Because right now you’re trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

List of task forces created at GOP retreat.  LMAO at the bolded one...

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also launched seven task forces designed to help shape the party’s messaging on policy. Rep. Patrick McHenry (N.C.) is set to lead a task force on jobs and the economy, with Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.) taking on technology and Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio) exploring "the future of American freedoms." Rep. Garret Graves (La.) was tapped to lead a task force on energy, climate and conservation, with Rep. John Katko (N.Y.) helming one on domestic security, Rep. Michael McCaul (Texas) focused on China, in addition to a health task force co-led by Reps. Devin Nunes (Calif.) and Brett Guthrie (Ky.).

"Actually focusing on developing sounds policy across a broad spectrum of issues to own the libs."

    Whatever it takes, right?

I agree to an extent but it's pretty much bottled in this little community down here (as far as I know) nobody is chasing him down in the Hawks or Braves forum to really hound him on it.

He clearly had a bad night and I do feel for him.

Its also true this isn't the first time for him. I wasn't going to air his AFMB history and I still won't Ill let those other posters come forward if they choose to but this isn't the first, second or even third time.

    That said he's mostly harmless

We can have substantive dialog, hyperbolic irritation, or whatever we want, whenever we want here. Why is that so difficult for you guys to accept?

EDIT to add: it IS more than that.

Just to be clear:  You are criticizing our substantive criticism of your hyperbolic criticism.   We all have the right to do all of that.  No one is saying otherwise.

Now I'm too depressed to go outside and play.

I don’t see it as okay either.  Black caucus is pandering too.  I don’t feel solidarity from this, but maybe I am in the minority .... gotdammit

Fine.  Post the picture.  Explain what is going on and express your opinion that the Black Caucus is pandering.  (To who . . . . themselves?  Black folks?  People frustrated with systemic violence against Blacks?)
