  1. I haven't watched much preseason action but I've been so impressed with the Falcons pass rush. I'm hoping and praying that it's legit and not another preseason mirage!! If the Falcons have a legit pass rush this year look out!!
  2. People put way too much stock into preseason games. I barely watch any preseason games because there's usually other more entertaining things I can do with my time.
  3. With 33 games left in the season the Braves magic number is 29.
  4. I don't give a **** about PRACTICE. I don't know how many different ways I can say it. I've seen enough sports in my life to see guys light it up on a practice field and in preseason games and then when it truly counts they disappear. I've also seen the opposite. Tim Tebow was known for being a TERRIBLE practice player but he's one of the best college football players ever.
  5. Of course no want wants to see him him hitting 5th and Adieny hitting 6th. But it is what it is.
  6. I know everyone loves to talk about the old Falcons logo and uniforms and rightly so, but what about the watermark logo? Am I the only one that thinks the old watermark logo from the 90s is so much better than the one they use today? Old Watermark Logo Current Watermark Logo
  7. Not even gonna have this silly discussion again. You want to get upset about practice, be my guest.
  8. Ok, so I got the two things confused, was this really necessary?
  9. Matt Joyce is 8-for-19 in his last 7 games.
  10. I haven't been this excited about Madden in years!! Watching the game play videos has just blown me away!!
  11. Where is all this "he sucks so bad" thought coming from? I just don't understand this. Dude has missed 3 field goals in preseason. All 3 were over 50 yards and 1 of them was blocked. What in the world? How is that cause for major panic after what he's done in real games in his career?
  12. vs. Marlins 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 2 BB, 4 SO 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 BB, 5 SO 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 2 BB, 6 SO 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 7 SO 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 3 BB, 9 SO Totals - 5 GS, 32 IP, 19 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 9 BB, 31 SO, 0.28 ERA Total Season Stats - 27 GS, 145 1/3 IP, 125 H, 63 R, 57 ER, 16 HR, 69 BB, 137 SO, 3.53 ERA Season Totals w/o Marlins - 22 GS, 113 1/3 IP, 106 H, 62 R, 56 ER, 15 HR, 60 BB, 106 SO, 4.45 ERA But like I said, that's influenced greatly by those 5 stinkers he's had. 5 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 HR, 3 BB, 3 SO 4 2/3 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 HR, 4 BB, 6 SO 4 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 3 SO 4 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 2 SO 1 1/3 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 2 SO Totals - 5 GS, 19 IP, 37 H, 30 R, 30 ER, 6 HR, 16 BB, 16 SO, 14.21 ERA Season Totals w/o 5 Stinkers - 22 GS, 126 1/3 IP, 88 H, 33 R, 27 ER, 10 HR, 53 BB, 121 SO, 1.92 ERA Now, you're talking about things evening out? Since he has 5 stinkers and 5 starts against the Marlins, let's cancel those out and look at what he's done without those 10 starts factored into his numbers, 17 GS, 94 1/3 IP, 69 H, 32 R, 26 ER, 9 HR, 44 BB, 90 SO, 2.48 ERA Like I said, Julio Teheran has been very good this year!! Great even!! You wanna take out the Marlins starts and even everything out, well you've got to take out the stinkers too so that it's a fair assessment.
  13. He has a $12M team option for next year. Also, it's not fair at all to Julio to say take away his Marlins starts and his ERA is 4.75 . You just cannot do that because it implies that he's only pitched well against the Marlins and that's not the case. Julio has been very good this year. He's had 5 absolute stinkers this year and the rest of the time he's been lights out. Two of those were early in the season in cold weather in Colorado and Cleveland and well, lots of pitchers struggle in cold weather, but I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher be more negatively effected by the cold weather than Julio. Tonight was Julio's 12th quality start of the season. By my definition of quality I would give him more than that, for example, early in the season against the Padres he gave up 4 runs in 7 innings. In my book with the way offense is now and all the runs scored, 4 runs in 7 innings is a good start.
  14. I said all winter that he would be really good this year and it has absolutely nothing to do with his contract and everything to do with him pitching out of the stretch all the time giving him better command.
  15. That's Mike Trout vs. Orioles territory!!
  16. 2010 was the year we had all the injuries and lost to the Giants in the playoffs.
  17. As far as I'm aware the Falcons have never had an end zone painted red.
  18. I don't know who Zach Links is but the dude is about as clueless as could be when it comes to Eric Saubert!! He thinks Saubert is a blocking TE!! OMG!! I'm just rolling! Falcons Trade TE Eric Saubert To Patriots August 12th, 2019 at 9:27am CST by Zach Links The Patriots have yet another tight end. On Monday, the Falcons shipped Eric Saubert to the Pats in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick, as Mike Reiss of ESPN.com tweets. Saubert, a fifth-round pick in the 2017 draft, has just five catches to his credit over the last two seasons. However, he’s known for his blocking ability and has been a special teams regular for the Falcons. Last year, Saubert appeared in 66% of the club’s special teams plays, and he could fill a similar role with New England. It’s also possible that bigger things could be in store for Saubert as he joins the Rob Gronkowski-less Patriots. The Pats will be without Ben Watson, their would-be Gronk replacement, for the first four weeks of the season, so there’s a clear opportunity for Saubert to make the cut and see the field. For the Pats, it’s an extremely low-cost opportunity to bolster a weakened position. Sitting dead last in waiver priority, they might not have landed the third-year pro out of Drake if they waited for him to be released. Photo courtesy of USA Today Sports Images.
  19. What the heIl are you talking about?
  20. Which one is that? I like the old one better because to me it looks more catchy!! More sharp and fearsome looking. I also remember how awesome it looked painted in the end zone for Super Bowl 33.
  21. With 35 games left in the season the Braves magic number is 31.
  22. @JD dirtybird21 I guess you can unpin this thread now. It seems to have run it's course. I appreciate everyone who was able to donate and even if you weren't able to donate I still appreciate the kind thoughts. Willie started week 3 of his treatment yesterday and so far is still in very good spirits and health. Although the doctor expects that he'll start to really feel the effects of his treatment sometime this week.
  23. Hey guys!! This is off-topic but my mom's boyfriend Willie has cancer and we're trying to raise money to take care of him. He's facing 7 straight weeks of chemo and radiation. If you guys could donate and share this we'd all greatly appreciate it!! Thanks!! https://www.gofundme.com/f/team-willie-strong?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet
  24. Bro, you and I have disagreements, but I tell you what, when it comes to football we both like the same thing!! Run the ball and hard nosed defense!! You know I'm an Auburn man and that is what I grew up with watching those Tommy Tuberville teams do just that!! The closest the Falcons ever came to that was the 1998 Super Bowl team.
