  1. That's dumb. A bench player and the 29th PG pick who's 29 yrs old and then you give up the 6th pick? Any GM that does even HALF that deal if not long for his job.
  2. Yes to Millsap, he will teach the locker room how to be professional but We should pick up a young backup PG. We need another playmaker like Deni.
  3. I'd rather have Joe Harris or Bogdanavic if its anything close to 15+ mil a yr. or give Bertran a one yr deal. Harris can play multiple positions.
  4. Advija or Wiseman, no way we are getting Edwards and between the two, Advija no doubt. Bleacher has him going 2 overall. I'm the FIRST here who called it. Lamelo, just no. Another point guard? no. Its better to get a vet PG like CP3 who can make Trey better (obviously not CP3). No to Toppin, he's 22 yrs old playing against 18-19 yr olds. Hayes is a PG AND his 3 pt shot looks alot like Lonzo Ball's 3 pt'er.
  5. Both Klay and Draymond are coming off of really bad injuries. Even at the start of the season, Draymond looked cooked. I don't think they have any more championships in their future. I'm hoping we either trade down or trade the pick entirely. I'm not saying that there won't be anyone who will do well but there are no standout prospects. If you do take a chance, it would be better to get picks for next yr and get some vets in here. I'm a fan of Joe Harris, if we can get him at a decent price.
  6. With the team so young and unbalanced, this SHOULD happen. In this yrs draft, we need to get someone solid, the rebuilding phase needs to be done after this yr!! Even the games that we win are suspect. We have to outscore everyone because of the lack of defense. One more good pick and one more from FA and we should be set. I believe in the Centers we have now, Bruno, Capela and Dedmon, our PG's are set Teague and Young, the wings at the 2 and 3 are good with Cam, Deandre, Huerter and Brembry. We have Collins but we still need a hybrid PF and another playmaker.
  7. I'm for him if Huerter is a starter next yr over Reddish. Can't have Trae and Huerter playing next to each other. Collins has been looking better, for now. I like holding everyone accountable, including the coaches.
  8. There's a lot of players injured too. I feel that Vince Carter should have been put in earlier to provide a spark but its hard to judge because we always fall behind and then catch up. Because we are streaky and frequently fall behind, its hard to determine when to make that critical wholesale change. Its a young team and hopefully the team will mature next yr.
  9. I just learned that I can move up to row A from row C for next yr, so I'm in a REALLY good mood(will stay positive)! I'm not against Collins, despite how some feel. I hope he can become a top 3 PF. I'll GLADLY eat my words if he does so. Jeff Teague is a good PG but he depends on having teammates who know's what to do. He's not an aggressive playmaker like Trae. He's ALOT more of a passive-agressive playmaker that when he makes a pass and a player is open, they either make a play or make a 2nd pass for a better shot. However, with so many rooks on the team, they are often in the wrong alignment and he's not effective with rookies. I've been vocal about it, in this draft, there's a player who's an aggressive playmaker that I would love to have. Especially since its not a given that Teague will stay.
  10. I read it. He's not even in the top 10 and nowhere near the top 5. Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Pascal Siakim, Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, Montrezl Harrell, Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon, Blake Griffin etc. I'm not even including others that I think are better but too new like Jaren Jackson Jr, Zion Williamson and others who STILL arguably better like Sabonis, Julius Randle, Bertans, etc. I DO think he's got upswing and he's in the top half of the league. The MAX contract stuff, lack of defense and PED's kinda pushes back how high he really is. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Right now, this team isn't even in the middle of the pack in the league but next year we will find out with Capella, Hunter, Reddish all being in the regular rotation.
  11. Nothing, its nothing personal but people saying he's the 4th best PF is the league, at this point, is crazy. Look below Top 5 as of today IMHO 1. Jason Tatum (Made Kwahi look old and SLOW) 2. Trae Young (Hopefully will take the top spot if his defense improves) 3. Ja Morant, he put the team on his shoulders and to this point, they are in the playoffs IN THE WEST! 4. Luka Doncic, Pretty good but he hasn't proven anything to me. I'll still take Trae and Reddish for that trade. 5. OPEN, Heck no to Zion, he's ONLY played 12 games, so heck no. Just NO!
  12. Tomorrow he plays against Aaron Gordon. The last time Gordon BULLIED him. Let's see if another PF has a career night against Collins.
  13. He had a good game last night. Huerter was terrible.
  14. I hope we thrash them next yr .. and tonight! 100% agree. Thank you TS!! I'm not harping on him. Its just that TRAE is sooo bad on defense, you can't have so many liabilities on defense. Collins is GREAT on offense. He knows what to do, especially on Pick and Rolls. His 3 pt percentages are great and I've seen him make tough shot after shot. The problem is that I think that Cam Reddish will be the 2nd best player on the team. I think that Hunter will be our 3 and D guy. I think that Capella will shore up our rebounds and a slight low post threat. That leaves the PF position. If Trae has a PF who has defense, that would be more important than a offensive PF. When you have Lebron, you can have a Kuzma, when you have Trae, you need more of a Draymond Green. Lastly, I don't think people are dumping on Collins (and not me either) but you can't just watch and see that much potential wasted because of a lack of defense and PED's. Just saying... I used to get this mad about Josh Smith too, its not like I didn't like him but even the FANs started booing when he kept shooting threes. HE had ALL-STAR potential but he never got aggressive driving the ball to the basket (even Horford said so). So yea, after yrs of disappointment, I'm a "show me the money" FAN. Ben Simmons and many others can't shore up their shortcomings but again, on a team when you have Trae at the point, you have to adapt. I don't have a personal grudge against Collins.
  15. Your talking about the ht of Collins vs Hunter, I've already corrected myself on that, good try for baiting though. Ty, I'm not against him but we've been the club that gets draft picks from other organizations who overpay. It would be stupid to go the same route IMHO. Again, personally, I think that Hunter, Trae and Reddish have more upside (the three will be asking for MAX contracts too) and I'm hoping to get another superstar so we will have a chance to get the trophy. I personally like the trade for Trae and Reddish vs Doncic and I believe it will be a race to see who gets the trophy first. For that to happen, Schlenk will have to make the right moves.
  16. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27281239/deni-avdija-polarizing-top-draft-prospect-2020 "Even so, watching Avdija function basically as a power forward on defense and a point guard on offense was impressive." "At 6-foot-9 in shoes with a proportionate 218-pound frame and 8-foot-10 standing reach, Avdija should be able to function at the 4 defensively in the NBA for stretches as he gets stronger and gains more experience -- opening up a world of lineup possibilities offensively." He's played the 4 before and he's 6'9" . This is just how I see things. Drafting Avdija and moving the parts around. There is no hate for Collins but I think he's the 5th best player on the team behind Trae, Reddish, Hunter, and Capella asking for Max dollars. I think that he could be great but IMHO not on a team with Trae. You can't have that many defensive liabilities on the court at the same time. @ GS you had Thompson, Iggy/Durant, Green that complimented Curry. BTW: Someone thought of putting Giannis at the 5 (which I disagree with), others thought it funny putting Hunter at the 4, then an article came out saying the same things that I've said but do you see me trashing others? People have different thoughts and should be able to express them. Sorry that I'm not on the bandwagon for Collins WITH Trae Young because of the defense and MAX contract expectations.
  17. Trae, Reddish, Hunter, PF (Crowder/ Harkless/Wilson Chandler, etc), Capella for starters Teague, Huerter, Brembry, Collins, Dedmon Draft Deni Avdija for future PF. Trade Collins for a future pick if possible. I'm 100% against players asking for MAX before they deserve it and will leave Trae as the undisputed leader of the team.
  18. I personally think this would be a very good destination for him. He hasn't signed an extension so I think he's waiting for the playoffs to make a decision and I don't think he will get a ring from the Bucks. After that, he's leaving for another team and personally again, he will want to go to a talented young team in the East and IMHO, the Hawks are the most talented. Boston would be a good place but they don't have any money and the same with the Heat. Other than those two, who else is there? US the HAWKS!! It would still be a small chance but I hope it happens.
  19. Look at Bam own Collins. A real-time look at the 2019-2020 salary cap totals for each NBA team, including estimated cap space. Cap Maximum: $109,140,000 Luxury Tax Threshold: $132,627,000
  20. https://hoopshype.com/2018/10/11/nba-luxury-tax/ Nope, being over the cap is being over the cap. Its soft but the Atlanta Hawks doesn't generate enough revenue to afford being over IMHO. The Lakers are over by 11 mil but they generate far more revenue.
  21. Because as the CAP goes up, so does the salaries. He's getting something like 29 mil right now.
  22. Yeah and paying everyone else *##@&$. Won't be able to keep Trae (absolutely worth the max), Deandre Hunter (at least 18mil), Cam Reddish (another MAX and he might actually be worth it) plus 1 more and thats the CAP!! https://www.spotrac.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/cap/2021/ Capella 17mil, Trae (2021-22 MAX) 25 mil already then by 2022 here comes Hunter and Reddish. Like I've been saying all along, He's not worth MAX money and teams that pay out like that have to dump the contracts and lose draft picks. Its good that people FINALLY see the light. BTW, its just as bad to "leverage" your most senior player who controls the locker room. It would be better to trade him so that Trae can take over and get a role player instead. I'd trade our first rd pick and Collins for Embid. HE's WORTH a MAX contract and the 76ers can't afford him, Simmons, Horford, and Tobias Harris. They will be 32 mil over the cap next yr.
  23. Golden State's done, even with Wiseman. No Durant and both Curry and Thompson just came off of injury. It will take another yr minimum for Klay Thompson to recover from his injury. Also, they are in the west. I don't believe they will even make the playoff's next yr.
  24. True and Collins has been back a while too. BOTH lack defense and Hunter has probably had equal time with them. Two differences, ones gone and the other is still here. Second, Collins will be asking for a MAX contract and again, he hasn't shown ENOUGH to warrant that IMHO.
