No, I'm not talking "hurry up". Just calling plays at the line, don't let defenses sub players, take the clock to 1 second if the game calls for that. No huddle and hurry up are two different animals

He's depth, that's it.  Not everyone can be starting caliber, especially with our cap.

agreed.   better to re-structure younger players that you forsee making to the end of contract with no talent dropoff.    Without looking at specifics, better to re-structure guys like Jake, Debo and Grady than Matt & Julio.

What they needed was not a guy throwing 30 picks.

One other thing to point out that seems to have gotten overlooked. Unselfishness played a huge role in their success this season. There were times people attempted to stir up drama when Evans wasn't getting his usual targets and he accepted it. Last night he got one target and his response was "1 target, 1 ring". That's one aspect of their team that has went completely overlooked

A thread could be made "Are you all ready for no trade down?"
I love some think there will ALWAYS be a possibility to trade down. Thinking that way sets you up to get low balled. The key to playing chicken is that you have to have the guts to stay straight and make the pick where you stand.

Not to downgrade Tom Brady's accomplishments in any way, but for more than a decade the Patriots benefited from having absolutely no competition in the AFC East.  The Patriots had basically a free-ride to the playoffs.

Harris at 4 would be a little insane. I'd rather take Smith or Chase.
The 2nd round is the prime location for running backs and there are several good ones that will be available there. If you want to trade into the bottom of the first for the 5th yr option, fine, but don't use a top 10 pick on a RB.

Not impossible, but highly unlikely. Not quite one in a million, but definitely something that ought to shock any reasonable person if it happens.

I absolutely think those picks given by ANY of those teams is beyond utterly ridiculous.   You can get legit receivers in the late 1st round any year.  Why the **** would any team give up the bounty those teams are theoretically giving up for a 31 year old receiver with legitimate injury concerns??

Says the person with a Gurley screen name. 🙄
While I agree that Ryan is "replaceable", it's going to take a special talent to be an "upgrade", IMHO. And, that talent may not be available where we're going to pick this year.

I like where your head is. I'm fine taking a QB in the 2nd or 3rd if the right one is available. Kyle Trask is having a good year as well.
If we get the number 1 overall pick, I think we have to trade it. Someone would be willing to pay a fortune for Lawrence I'm sure. Collect picks. If we could trade back and get someone like Lance, Trask, or Wilson later and get a fortune for the number 1 pick, I'm all for it.

Drafting Lawrence, which would be a big mistake (he likely will be a middling QB in the NFL), isn’t going to fix the problem on this team.  We’ve had leads of 15 and 16 points in the fourth quarter and lost.  That is playcalling problems. That is defensive problems.

Drafting a QB number one would just leave us in the same situation we are in now.
Unless, there is an amazing revelation by the next staff in building this team, we wouldn't be any good before it would be time the pay Lawrence, Fields or whoever is at QB.
You have to draft well, spend well and then hit on QB. It's how pretty much everyone, not named New England has done it for the last decade. NE only got away with it because Brady gave them a break and they played in an historically bad division.

Lmao yall are ridiculous. There are 1500 players in the NFL. AJ may be the first to get it (during the season that is) but he won't be the last by a long shot. Surprised they lasted 2 weeks tbh.

There was a line somewhere that he had a bad camp. They brought in another big back, one from DC, to compete.
The thing is you don't need a big back to eat yards. Just run the ball, eat the clock, slow the pace of the game. Any back can get yards if there is a hole to run through.

This offseason he did hire another assistant to tell our dipstick HC when to call timeouts, when to challenge a play, whether or not to play aggressively on offense in the last 4 minutes and/or 2 minutes of a half. Apparently, even Blank has to know by now all DQ is good for is t-shirt slogans and cheerleader speeches.

Roman will be a HC next season.  Not sure it’s here but somewhere.  I like him as an option a lot more than Jim Harbaugh who I’ve seen mentioned on TATF.
