This new challenge is ridiculous and slows down the game. Yes, these calls are missed all the time (or the calls made when it was incidental/ticky-tack at most). But the refs don't seem inclined to change the call on the field, and it just slows down the flow of things. Let 'em play.
(Yet another reason to hate the Saints. This new challenge wouldn't exist without their whining.)

Bad calls happen. It is what it is.

I will say it once again, Julio Jones with 2 ring would be the GOAT WRs, surpassing Jerry Rice, maybe even with a single ring. He is the most complete player to play the position. The way he instantly turn into a  SS when he saw that Cowboy attempt to intercept a rock that was intended to be his. He leveled Heath, I must watch that clip once a week, last season was my JJ Highlight of the year.

Same.  These bad boys are the slickest uni's in the land.

I am actually partial to the red helmets that we rocked a few years ago as a throw back

The team is really not that good right now, bottom line.  It's only preseason but I've seen enough to say that.  We're going to get beat week 1.  We really can't be missing any field goals because we are just not more than 3 points better than most teams we play -- not right now anyway.
The entire season will go only wherever the offensive line can take us.  We need injury luck too, but that goes without saying.  Fortunes can change across 16 weeks like the weather.  Hope for sunshine.

Steelers are probably laughing their azzes off right now.

Not only that, but what would even be the point since we're screwed without MR2 anyway?

Never seen a fan base ***** and moan so much about a 3rd string QB getting hurt.

If Ryan goes down its time to start doing our 2020 mock drafts. That was the case with either of the those guys filling in.

He's 26. That should be his biggest contract.
Julio is 30. Let's just say I'm wary about what we are going to do, and how it impacts our future.

I hope he has a career year in his contract year. Gives the Falcons a better comp pick because some team will sign him to fat contract. OR, the Falcons can franchise him and trade him for a 1st round pick. I doubt the latter happens. But the better Beasley plays, the better it is for the Falcons both short and long term

Beasley is 100% gone after this season. No matter what.
Trufant is 100% on this team after this season. No matter what.

It's possible and he is a freak athlete who's always in immaculate shape and conditioning but I wouldn't bet on it. Two injuries that usually cut careers short or either catch up with you, are Feet and Back. And Julio been having foot issues since college. If I had to guess, I'd give Julio 3 great/good yrs before tailing off. Once again I hope like heII that I'm wrong.

Sign Mccoy to a 3 year 12 mil a year contract. Let Grady walk at that price. There's no way he's more valuable than Debo. Not even close. Re-sign Julio, Debo, Hooper. Dre is replaceable.
We'd be stocking up on comp picks letting Grady, Beasley, Dre ect walk too. We'd have another draft loaded with picks.

But you can't eliminate all training and just play games. People are going to run and people are going to get hurt.  Sucks it's another one of our players where we already didn't have great depth though.

Dimitroff sits in Arthur's booth during the games. I'm sure after the injuries and Schraders decline they discussed during games that Matt is taking to many hits, and the patch work needs to end. If we want Matt to be able to play as long as possible we've got to stop letting him get hit 100 times a year.

It's because they have conviction in what they are doing as regards team building and coach hiring.  Those two teams don't change schemes coordinators or systems every three or four years.   Pats and Steelers already know how to win, they just execute that plan year after year, and win more often than not.
The blueprint for winning in the NFL is -right there- for everyone to see.  So why don't more teams follow that blueprint?  Two reasons:
The belief on the part of execs and coaches that they know a better way to win games (most the time they don't),
and impatience on the part of owners to win, now.  Right now.  Which causes ill conceived short term 'fixes' like trades for star players at or past their prime, or taking risks on hugely expensive FA's with issues (injury or character or age).

This reminds me of Richard Seymour
The guy doesn't care about anything but money, so he's perfectly content to sit around until someone meets his asking price
I really think he'd be willing to just not play if no one ponied up. He's made so much already

I think the defense should perform better than last year.  Injuries were devastating.  However, I remain pessimistic that we will see a good pass rush from them.
We decided to invest in the OL.  It was a long time coming.  If we missed out on a stellar pass rusher, then so be it.
  21. aer2033 liked a post in a topic by brewman in Will the Falcons go back to Tempo on Offense?
This.  Matt Ryan seems to thrive in a no-huddle situation, and doesn't have to be up tempo.
  22. aer2033 liked a post in a topic by Smiler11 in Will the Falcons go back to Tempo on Offense?
No-huddle doesn't have to be up-tempo. I could definitely see us mixing our tempo a bit more under Koetter and throwing in no-huddle every once in a while to get the match-ups we want.
