Here's the problem in ATL...I can't believe we're more concerned about how the SAINTS do with what WE do, at this point I rather be them...Rise up???? How about WAKE UP!
  2. Club212 liked a post in a topic by BUBBASBEANS in Was there any Falcons players that you felt was giving 100 percent during that 1-7 start?
Yeah......wasted efforts which = mental errors, poor execution and attention to details.  All a result of poor coaching.   That’s about all I could say I saw 100% of.  I’ll say it, MR looked out of sync and even JJ made a few mistakes that were out of character.  World class funk considering the talent on this team.  We have too many of these too often.

I think part of the problem is still lack of preseason action. I’ve never seen a regime that plays the starters less. It certainly shows during the first couple of games every season that Q had been here.

Players weren't dogging it out there.  They were just completely unprepared and confused by their coaches.

  5. Club212 liked a post in a topic by Francis York Morgan in Which of these players would be easiest to replace in the draft?
Last 4 in your list are UFAs, as someone said. Not talking strictly replacing in the draft here since that'd be suicidal, so I'm including FA in the equation. From easiest to hardest:
    1) Freeman - past his prime, great RB class and already outperformed by guys on the roster. Love the dude but DK can't get it out of him.
    2) Beasley - I say he's easier than Clay because a guy like Irvin replaces what he brings at a fraction of the cost and with a better motor.
    3) Campbell - always been a below average to average LB. Hardest thing to replace is the chemistry and communication and that's always appeared to be his weak point.
    4) Clayborne - value him more than most. He was arguably our most consistent pass rusher, though he's certainly nothing special right now (see: Takk). Got 2 mil last year, 32 coming off a season with 4 sacks...won't be hard to keep for cheap.
    5) Hooper - the hardest if you look strictly at his production and where he ranks among others at his position. But he's easier than Mack in terms of the draft (takes centers a lot longer to "get it" than TEs) and additional compensation this season, as well as how free agency is looking.
    6) Mack - not the best center in the league anymore, but still well above average and with center being such a hard spot to replace (especially in the draft) this is a toughie.

Why would you want to go to a place where the whole coaching staff could be gone in a year though? Uproot your family, go thru all of that, for one year?? I wouldn't want to come here under those circumstances.

Also I thought Tom cable was one of the better ol coaches??
  8. Club212 liked a post in a topic by D.B.N. in Point blank, Quinn and Dummytroff should be fired for these three reasons...
3 Reasons Quinn and TD need to be fired:
The top two seeds in the NFC, SF and GB, both have HC's who were on our 2016 staff - KS and LaFluer. The fact that Quinn and Co. let these guys walk to bring in... drum-roll... Steve Trashkesion,.. is plenty enough reason to fire them. BUT WAIT! THERE's MORE! TD's been here over a decade and has consistently failed us when coming to drafting OL and DL. The only outlier is Grady Jarrett. Jury is out on this draft class, so they are excluded... so excluding this years' draft class, what class can we hang our hat on, on truly building the trenches? I'll wait...  SuperBowl LI and the blown lead. 28-3 will never escape us... they should have been fired after that massive debacle. Now, we are stuck in mediocrity and our trend is well, less than optimistic. What have we done to get better? Quinn failed us in the SuperBowl, then got a pass due to all the injuries, and now look at us. Started out 1-7, only to "bounce back" once we've been mathematically eliminated! Where was this energy during that 1-7 stretch to start the year out? Unacceptable!  Now watch, there will be an influx of kool-aid sippin, rose-colored glasses wearin, homers who come in here and try to defend these fools who make up our FO. Until there is real change, we will be destined for mediocrity. Better realize that sooner than later. We need to clean house, don't let these pointless wins fool you. Wake up. Trust me.
  9. Club212 liked a post in a topic by I give lengthy responses in POLL-How Do You Feel About Quinn/Dimitroff Coming Back in 2020?
The season has been over by week 5 for two consecutive years and yet we bring back this regime. It's unfathomable. We have not even sniffed the playoffs since blowing it in Philly but thanks to the team "finishing on a high note" at 7-9 (or possibly 6-10) and ruining their draft position AGAIN we get to relive this nightmare in 2020. I'd be upset if I hadn't already resigned myself to the belief that as one of the most poorly run organizations in the league we will simply never win a Super Bowl. Thank God for basketball.

Look how many different owners the Boston Red Soxs went thru before they got one, Chicago Cubs? Blank and McKay cant live forever, maybe once they are gone things will change, but until then, embrace the suck.
The Falcons are the NFL version of the Red Soxs so why not love the NFL's loveable losers? I know I'll still watch, just for the comedy if nothing else.
I'm glad Quinn is back and our former failed GM just got a promotion. How can we  continue to choke and fail without them?  Let's keep doing what we always do with the same people. We cant continue to be comical failures with new people.
28-3 is hard to beat. It's as big if not bigger than Buckner, Greg Norman at the Masters, the Chicago Cubs 2003 Bartman, and Houston Oilers vs Buffalo play-off game. How can we live up to our reputation as chokers without McKay and Co still here?
Look at the brightside. Embrace the suck. We are who we are. Another day in loserville, and Might Casey Blank struck out again. Did you expect anything different?
Love em or leave em. Like Tin Cup trying to hit the ball onto the green,  I love watching beautiful hard headed failure, there is no better tragic comedic relief around. Same old Falcons. We all complain but we all still watch and THAT is what makes us Falcons fans.
We still buy the season tickets, the jerseys, the hats. It's like a badge of honor to show your continued support for a team that you know will break your heart in the end. Like supporting a alcoholic uncle who shows up at Christmas on his best behavior but by nights end has passed out under the Christmas tree. You knew what was going to happen but you love him anyway.
So Season's Greetings my former Falcons fans do not despair or rejoice with today's news. Just stay the course, keep the faith, and enjoy the show. Mediocre is mediocre in most books, but no fan base has more fun being average than us. C students rule! Trophies are overrated and catchers and pitchers report in two months!

The City of ATL Falcon fans must love watching "Groundhog Day"....All I see/read/here is past performances....but guess what, when you wake up this time next year it will be under .500 AGAIN! PLEASE

OK, mediocre is what you want, so that's what we get! I predicted last year that we'd be lucky to win 8 games this year...check, I just looked at 2020 schedule assuming we play the Giants (H) & Bears (A) I see 5 to 7 wins. This team is more about how the owner/staff & players feel. Yes how they feel, how about putting a winning product on the field? Re-treds, failed coaches, a GM & D-genious that can't come up with a pass rusher (not to mention a O-line) in all these years? Using the same playbook the last 5 years, you can go on & on...playing the 2nd half is fools gold, you beat 1 team that was set up for a "trap" game, you beat one on national TV, & beat 2 teams going thru termoil....when DQ put this team on his back before the season, it was on him, great....he failed, he had a 28-3 in a Super Bowl & lost, he failed, no playoffs the last 2 seasons & looking to 2020 will make it 3, FAIL...so, mediocre prevails AGIAN! Thanks AB
  13. Club212 liked a post in a topic by MAD597 in OK, with "Groundhog Day" being played again, how will 2020 season end?
7-9 with a 6 game losing streak in the first half of the season mostly due to Quinn treating pre season like a vacation for most players that will make the roster.
  14. Club212 liked a post in a topic by GrooRules in Cap gurus tell me how we trim the fat next year
My question is, why do you think this is a playoff team next year? There is nothing pointing to a winning season next year based on the performance this year. There seems to be a competitive deficiency with the core of this team. They have never won when the stakes are highest.
  15. GreggT liked a post in a topic by Club212 in OK, with "Groundhog Day" being played again, how will 2020 season end?
What new toys for 2020? Draft, FA's,Staff changes? Well, lets' peek at the 2020 schedule: 6 vs division (3 wins), 4 vs AFC West (1 win-DQ don't beat AFC teams, see past record), 4 vs NFC North ( 1-win vs Lions at Dome), 2 vs same seeds NFC East Away (Giants?) & West Home (Rams?) 1 win here....So, looking at 6-10, play it again ATL / AB....when do we WAKE-UP since we don't rise-up????

I didn't. I'm saying what pundits and ex coaches said at the beginning of the year. The team is too talented to be losing to teams who will have new QBs next year. Points back to one thing: coaching.

A team full of talent going 1-7 and losing to the likes of Mariota and Brissett.
  19. Club212 liked a post in a topic by stizz in [CONFIRMED] Quinn and TD staying for 2020
So why was the team so undisciplined under him? What were the changes? Remember when he said he'd start fining guys for penalties during games? I have it on good record he never did that.
Players like him because he's a soft pushover.
If I didn't like him I wouldn't say what he does well. I said a long time ago I think he's the best talent evaluator the city has ever seen. But that is mute when he gets outcoached game in and game out.

What are you talking about. I listed facts. Not my personal opinion on Quinn. He took charge of the defense. He failed. And now won't be held accountable.
You're the guy that goes back to that cheating gf just because you're comfortable with her and afraid of the unknown. It gets better, man.
