  1. If anyone moves a QB up their rankings because of a 40 time they're evaluating the wrong position.

The formations at the start of a game that the opponent didn’t see coming. The bunch of three receivers at the top of the screen and the pre-snap motion that had a cornerback so confused he turned the wrong way and left a receiver wide open. T

This is a clear sign from the FO that Matt will be the starting QB for at least the next 2 years. This makes it far less likely that we target a QB at 4.

  21. This guy is just cherry picking stats to support his argument. Arthur Smith is a major upgrade from Dirk Koetter. Ryan's floor in that type of offense (when he's found his chemistry with the OC) is 35 TDs, 7 INTs, and 4924 yards.

  26. I was listening to 92.9 yesterday and they had a guy who used to scout with TF for the stains (can't remember his name). The host asked him how many safeties and CBs he thought the Falcons should draft and his response (and I am paraphrasing here): "When you go into the draft looking to get a specific number of players at specific positions you handicap your team because it influences your evaluation of players. Instead of looking for RB, OL, CB, or S, you should be looking for good football players." This just confirms TF's stated philosophy of filling needs through FA and drafting BPA.

  29. Real talk: Ice is still a dayum good QB and the Falcons needed to get under the cap. Smith and company can run light years around Quinn and Koetter let's not panic on Ice at the moment and see what the new regime does in this draft.

  30. disagree that a great TE isn't worth as much as a wr. I'd take Travis Kelce over just about any wr. And the fact that they don't cost as much makes them even more valuable.

  31. FWIW, this screams smoke screen. Why would Mortensen know this info unless it was purposefully leaked by someone within the Falcons? GM wants this, HC wants that, keeps everyone else guessing.

  32. I'm sitting here envisioning 13 personnel with Pitts, Hurst, and Smith (who CAN catch in an emergency) and Julio or Ridley as the receiver with a single running back. I'm seeing entire series of no-huddle because there's enough blocking in there with Smith that we could run darn near anything and never let the defense substitute since we'd never sub. Three TE bunch with WR isolated, Pitts and WR split out with Hurst and Smith in tight, tight running formation with a single split out... on and on. You could go multiple series with that personnel alignment without ever running the same pla

  37. Everyone but the Atlanta Falcons seems to be ready to replace Matt Ryan. Rumors surrounding quarterbacks this offseason are all over the place and the Atlanta Falcons are in the mix because they have the fourth overall pick. Time and time again Matt Ryan has proven to be the best player in Falcons history, yet fans still want him gone for idiotic reasons. The argument Atlanta Falcons fans are making for drafting a quarterback at four is that they will not pick this high again so they should draft one. This thinking makes no sense because they are assuming the Falcons will be better th

  42. pick a year, any of 'em. now realize, there are 30 other teams besides us that didn't win a ring. Matt's NOT the problem, no matter how much you dislike him. pitiful coaching, defense and special teams ALL play their particular parts, but nah, you don't wanna hear (or read) actual facts
    23 points
  43. TD and his gang were not near as bad in draft as TAFT pretends, I would argue upper 1/3 in league during his 13 year tenure overall. Facts are without some insanely crappy late game situational coaching, TD would have at least one ring...arguably two...as a falcon GM. The draft is a crapshoot, those who point out the misses do so with benefit of hindsite. The cubbard was not bare, Dan Quinn was 10X more a problem with this team’s record over the past 3 seasons than the talent he had to work with was. Selah.
