They like Lance a lot? But what about Queen Guinevere? I’ll show myself out.

Not once, since the announcement that he would retire/not be retained have I thought about him or wondered what he was up to, or wanted to hear what he would do with his life going forward. I have given zero thought to him until just this moment. When this thread dies, I can know that peace once again.

  4. Honestly, I have never been so confused with a Falcons draft. I have no idea where we are headed. And that to me is a truly great thing. Anything, and everything is very much on the table.

  5. What are we too do about our defense. All I’m hearing as a fix is we are waiting for Dean Pees to sprinkle his fairy dust. We’ve already tried to build and win with an offense. If we are to change thee identity of this team it has to be defense and run game. Going for the Chase Pitts combo I’m struggling to see how this will help us long term.

I like Lance too but I also don't want to hear about him for the next two years from the Ryan haters every time he makes a bad throw.

I'm going to be happy with almost anything that we do. I have zero problems grabbing Fields or Lance at #4 because I'm hoping they carry a clipboard. Both are extremely talented and will be better starters in year three as understudies than if pressed into duty right away. And there's nobody better to learn from than Matt Ryan, who jumped up and grabbed the brass ring as a rookie by outplaying the players ahead of him. Played so well in preseason that they even tipped their hats to him. But the last thing that I want to see (and know is inevitable) is nonstop chatter from people who love

  8. I think TF is going to rinse wash repeat what he had a part in in NO defense and a run game and hello playoffs behind a vet QB who still has plenty left. I mean he’s not going step for step but it just makes a lot of sense to do so because we are in a similar position it’s eerily scary to the NO situation cap talent the lot. What was missing and what put the Aints back on the map it wasn’t a flash new toy at WRer or TE.It was meat and potatoes LOS either side and run game. Falcons take the hint.

  9. QB is worth more than a passrusher. Chase Young plus #19 overall for #4.

  10. If we draft a qb at 4 (will be worse with the Homers and Fields) there will be a riot on the board as soon as Ryan throws an interception. Our ****ty fans were still chanting "we want vick" when he played for the Eagles. It will be a total cluster **** public relations nightmare to pick a qb at 4 and sit him on the bench

  14. If a Chase Young caliber defensive player was in this draft everybody and anybody would know what we were doing with that 4th pick. Imagine the question this way. If there was a defensive player in this draft the caliber of Chase Young who you could magically predict would be able prove it on the field in an insane rookie year.......well would you take him at 4? Its not even a question for me. WFT though.....nah. But maybe because Snyder is crazy.

Very true! Another thing is for this team to once again believe in its coaching staff. It spoke volumes to me when the defense improved once DQ got fired. I really believe talent wise there is way more talent on the roster than. 4-12 record would suggest. But man do we need a running back and an offensive scheme than isn’t so predictable. I do like Mike Davis addition, it we need more, a legitimate starting RB capable of taking over end of games.

  24. They'd be fools not to consider it. You go to all the pro days and stuff to figure out who the best player at 4 is. You don't decide randomly "well, we don't want him if he's a QB." It is due diligence in that sense, though. They are getting all the information they need to make the best decision with the 4th pick. I don't think it will be a QB, but they surely aren't taking it off the table.

  25. Anyone who says we should ask for more is nuts. He is the #2 overall pick w a year of experience now. I would take that deal all day, even throw in a mid rounder if it’s needed.
    3 points
  26. I doubt he's going to make an "impact" but historically these kinds of low risk former 3rd and 4th round picks who are entering their 4th or 5th years in the NFL are worthy investments.

  28. This has already been posted, but it is such a giant load of horse squeeze. If the Falcons pick at 4, it might be a QB, but probably not. If they trade out of the pick, it's almost certainly for a QB, but maybe not. Wyche says we'll draft for need, and then says we don't need a QB. This is just poorly reasoned clickbait.

  30. Dumb. A $6M rookie contract to hold a clipboard when we’re still in cap he!! isn’t a logical choice, Steve. We’re either picking someone who can play right now or we’re trading back to pick someone who can play right now.

  34. Between Bullard, Mingo, Copeland, Harris, Moreau, and getting Davidson back healthy, I think we’ve sured up the defense quite nicely. We obviously need safety depth and and an edge rusher, maybe another bonafide outside CB, but with the additions we’ve made it looks a lot better than what we had the last couple seasons.

  36. Probably because scouts watch more than highlights. Scouts look for traits. That’s the number 1 thing pro scouts look for. Just like potential is the number 1 thing college recruiters looks for is potential

  37. Sewell has shown flashes but is still raw, inexperienced at 19. Drop between Sewell and next OT isnt much. Sure, Sewell has higher ceiling. If going BPA it’s Pitts. I don’t remember a TE coming out of college like Pitts. Sewell is an athletic freak and probably will be what Greg Robinson couldn’t be in NFL. Pitts has all the checks plus great production in college and a complete product.

  40. What time you think this game ends?
    2 points
  41. In that case who has the fastest 40 time? That will be the player the Falcons draft. We all know that the best team in the NFL is the one that has the fastest players. At least that is the way Al Davis built teams.

  42. Trey has a lot of tools. But, he is RAW. Very little competition, weak conference with a dominant team. He could be a great one, but he has a steep hill to climb. There are four QBs more ready for the pros. He is risky to me. If we were more rounded, and were merely reloading, I'd have no issue drafting him to develop.
    2 points
  43. So that makes sense, but do you run the risk of not having either side be good enough? I was figuring with a top TE, top OG (which 2nd round normally has), and mid round RB we've probably done what we can do for the offense. If we skip that RB and OG, then there's a higher chance our OL doesn't perform, negating that TE. I mean this is the whole reason I want to trade down, because I think we need 3 players in the defensive secondary before round 3, and a couple of offensive guys. But without trade down, it's an interesting question I think. I might lean toward a TE then p

  45. Nice. He's playing for a real contract. I'm pulling for him.

  46. Yep. You never know how the draft will unfold. It also helps to compare these top guys to the second tier QB. Just like they didn’t for other top QB.

  47. Drafting a long snapper at #4 will make the Falcons serious SB contenders.... That would make Al Davis jealous.
