  2. One of the best movies of the 2010’s was Spotlight. If you haven’t seen it, it’s the re-telling of how the investigative journalism branch of one of the Boston newspapers uncovered systemic sexual abuse of young boys and how the Catholic Church covered it up. There is a line in that movie when a lawyer played by Stanley Tucci is advising the reporter (Mark Ruffalo) digging in on the story which is ‘the church thinks in centuries’. For Terry Fontenot – while he doesn’t need to think in terms of centuries, as a newly hired GM, he’s certainly looking at a longer term view than just 2021. As

  3. Big Ben, Rivers, and Brees were completely beaten up and broken, all having major injuries recently or at some point in their career. Matt Ryan has never had a serious injury in his entire career. If you were genuinely trying to compare Matt Ryan vs. Brady vs. Roethlisberger you would easily see Matt Ryan is much closer to Brady in terms of health and potential longevity than Roethlisberger. This is mostly due to the fact that both Brady and Ryan don't fight their way out of sacks, they just fall over, and neither of them run. In this new era of football, unless Matt tears the rotator cuff on

  4. Lol why do I always read these thing? Always a wordy waste of time. If you can't tell that Matt Ryan had down years because of how terrible Koetter was, then you're not worth listening to. A terrible take is still a terrible take even if you try to hide behind 8 paragraphs of fluff. TLDR for everyone else: Matt Ryan Bad. We draft new QB or else!

  10. The thing is if we actually build a good team Ryan declining slightly won't matter that much. Brady's certainly declined but he's in the SB. Brees has been declining for years but his team's consistently been in the mix. If we actually make a defense and run game for once Ryan won't have to be the entire team anymore.

  12. by Dave Choate for The Falcoholic When Arthur Smith came to Atlanta, the rampant speculation was that he would call his own plays as he did in Tennessee, with an offensive coordinator hire who would manage the offensive planning ahead of gameday. That’s exactly what happened with the hire of Bears passing game coordinator Dave Ragone, but today, he confirmed it. In remarks to the media, Ragone made it clear what the division of labor will be for the offense, though I’m certain there will be some blurring of roles as the two get comfortable working together. 14. Using the 2008 draft for this one is stupid at best and uneducated at worst. You guys act like Dorsey was a bust. He wasnt Aaron Donald, but he was a good piece. You build a team, not insert. We have yet to win a superbowl, so is that what we're doing? Not winning a superbowl? If we get a QB then fine, if we dont fine.

  18. Man I'm not even opposed to getting a QB THIS season. Just not with the 4th overall pick. People are talking like this is our ONLY opportunity to have a future. That isn't true at all. Trade down. Collect TONS of draft picks. Get a QB like Mac Jones in round 2. Or, get a QB in the 1st round next season, or even the year after. In the mean time, use 4-5 extra draft picks you just got from a QB needy desperate team and get some TALENT on this defense and offense for your future. This doesn't make me unconditionally committed to Ryan either. And that's the part that annoys me. If ther

  21. My favorite thing about posters who get suspensions: "I'm not allowed to touch the sacred the cow!" "I got banned for speaking da truth!!!" "You aren't allowed to criticize your precious Matty Ice!" I love when people don't take responsibility for their actions. Always someone else's fault. Always the victim. Always the one who got robbed.

  22. You realize drafting a QB won't make this next season any better, meaning they'll have still 'wasted' it, right? Having an unknown QB in the wings doesn't help that.

  23. If we needed a quarterback I’d agree. Also, theory is flawed. If Matt Ryan is on such a decline as many of those who want to draft a QB believe he is, then we’ll be picking early in the draft next year as well. Kedon Slovis Sam Howell Dylan Gabriel Spencer Rattler Desmond Ridder there are some very good prospects next year as well.

  27. Wrong! They want three new quarterbacks. It will be a new wishbone style. They toss the ball around like the Globetrotters until one passes it down field.

  33. I get some wanting a QB, but Matt Ryan is not the problem and has not been the problem. He has an easy 2-5 years left. Do you think the Bucs are worried about a young QB right now? If we were moving on from Ryan this year or even next then yes draft one, but we are not. I could see us draft one in the 2nd or 3rd to be our number 2 and possbily starter down the road, but not at 4. We have to many good pieces right now to rebuild. It like other have said we are in a re-tool mode. Taking at QB does not help us until maybe year 3. I would say in the next 2-3 years we will be like a lot of other t

  34. by Tori McElhaney for The Athletic While Arthur Smith said in his introductory news conference that he intended to take his time deciding who would be joining his staff with the Falcons, he didn’t waste any time doing so. By the end of his first official week on the job, Smith had named his coordinators and a number of assistants. To get a better idea of this growing staff, let’s take a look at a number of the individuals coming to Atlanta and what the situation is for their specific unit with some insight into their past through various voices in The Athletic’s newsroom. 38. If a QB is the best player on their board at 4 I have no problem with them taking him. I'm highly unconvinced that will be the case. The way too many folks here seem to rank the players in this draft is: QB QB QB QB Sewell QB Surtain Trask 3 WRs Etc.
