  1. Matt Ryan - Let's get this out of the way first - I want Ryan next year, and I think he's a good quarterback. That being said, he was not very good this year. This was easily his worst year since 2015. He missed a lot of reads, he missed a lot of throws, and he was just generally "off," mostly early on, but also later, he just cleaned up the interceptions comparatively. I was a big DK hater before going back and rewatching games while keying in, but after...Ryan and Freeman were the biggest issues by far. Ryan for missing throws, Freeman for missing holes. If they're less off and making the mo

  2. Well it’s a new month, so we get us a new thread. We should have a busy week of posting here and then it’s probably gonna die off with the recruiting dead period after NSD going into March. Not too much drama heading into NSD. Not totally sure how many we will take since none of them will be added to the scholarship numbers until summer, except for the early enrollees, and we always seem to take one or two more than we thought we could. We should have no issues with our unsigned commitments (Broderick Jones, Sedrick Van Pran, Daijun Edwards)... beyond that, not totally sure. Ladd Mc

    Blank on Hooper, others

They paid Vic $13MM no problem. If they can't find a structure to pay Hooper $10MM, they should be fired. They paid Sambrailo $7MM per year, but can't find $3MM extra to pay a 2x Pro Bowl TE. Think about that.

  18. From Chad Simmons: Talking to sources throughout the day today, it is clear Matt Luke “KILLED IT” with Jones. One source told me, “Matt Luke made a quick connection with Broderick and I think he may like him even more than he did Sam Pittman.”Another told me a few minutes ago: “Matt Luke killed it with Broderick. He was very personable and the two just hit it off. Broderick decided Friday morning that he wasn’t going to visit Auburn, and I think he really knew that last weekend when he left his official visit to UGA.”One of the sources mentioned Dell McGee too, and said he played a role in

  19. The biggest difference was the Titans took away the run game and it stalled the Ravens offense and it hurt Lamar's game having to throw all those times because it exposed him. Ravens run game ran wild all season and was successful but was stopped in the playoffs and they looked awful. As for time off, John Harbaugh is a SB winning HC. He was supposed to have his team ready. Lamar should've been ready. Teams have had a long break off and still won playoff games. Still have to play the game. No excuses. You wouldn't have made that excuse if it were the Falcons

The agenda that get pushed on this site in regards to Matt Ryan is pretty stupid. But it’s like I’ve been saying the past few weeks, praising players from other teams is the new thing around here. Lamar Jackson was a human highlight reel and potential soon to be MVP yet when it mattered most he folded yet he still receives the highest praise lol.

  25. What is proof that the Falcons are behind the curve? From all my years watching NFL football I have learned that good teams never try to keep up with trends, they set them. Mobile QBs have yet to dominate with SB wins. A 40+ year old Brady just won last year and isn't mobile. Lamar Jackson will more than likely be the season MVP, but looked awful when it mattered the most in the playoffs. That can happen to any QB mobile or non-mobile. Every QB still needs a decent o-line. Russell Wilson is really good, but him not having a proper o-line always comes back to

  26. I think a lot of it is because we have seen this offense play at a much higher level than it is now, largely with the same players, so when you see them produce a lot less, it’s obvious something has changed and not playing to it’s potential. We haven’t seen a dominate defense in atl in a long time, so I think it’s easier to “want” a better defense, but not expect it because we have never seen these current players be a dominant unit before like we have most the offensive players be.

  27. I believe you when you say that you are not one of them. I'm gonna be very honest though. I do know quite a few black people who did have a problem with the Falcons when they drafted Ryan while Vick went to prison. Where I'm from Vick was almost like a god to many. Couldn't go anywhere without seeing many Vick jerseys. Went to the barbershop Vick would come up at some point every time I went there. Even people in my community who didn't even watch football or wasn't a Falcons fan rallied around Vick and became fans. He was just that type of figure at the time.

Oh I agree. If they use the money for Hooper and instead got Graham Glasgow and Robert Quinn, that's a win in my book. I don't disagree with anything you said.

  30. I don't think that's apple for apple's tho.... if you wanna look at it likr that tho... maybe the team instead of giving hoop 11 mil a year (idk why ppl saying 10 mil... he us not taking less the Francis tag) .... Maybe they want to use that to grab a Yannick or a JPP adding a couple if millions to that (to get Yannick). Again yall want to have the highest paid every position on O... But we can't get consistent pressure on D Again I want hoop back but when Matt is getting 30... Julio is getting 20... jake 15+ mil.... mack at 10.... I'm just saying I w

  33. I get that. But neither guy warranted market value deals. Shaq Barrett was $4MM and a player I actually spoke up for them going after. Bruce Irvin showed first hand he could replace Vic here no problem and they let him walk for free. There was CLEAR options other than paying Vic $13MM but their ego's got in the way and they're paying for it now. Idiots. I just don't get how they thought paying $13MM for him made any season. If you even just looked at your own roster, Vic's cap hit was higher than everyone except Matt Ryan. Do you think he's the second best player on the team? In any regard? No

  37. The biggest issue with Lamar is the time off he and all the starters had.. Even Lamar admitted he was rusty in that playoff game.. Throughout the season, Lamar was one of the most accurate qb's in the league.. Especially in the red zone.. I have no concerns that Lamar will be back next season and consistently be a top 5 qb

It’s pretty ridiculous man. I’m glad you point out Jackson’s flaws and not be stuck on his progression and he’s gonna win MVP. Last time I checked MVP is won off of stats. Doesn’t mean you’re the best at your position. Yet you got some folks around here that truly believe that and want to tear Matt down in the process of pushing that opinion. Russell Wilson has been my favorite qb since his Wisconsin days and I would never discredit Matt to show support for Wilson. Guess it’s an age thing
