  1. I’m not a huge fan of Koetter, but I’m tired of the parade of OCs Matt Ryan’s has through his career. Changing coaches every year isn’t how you build a winner.

  5. I have mixed feelings about Quinn and TDs retention (especially with Koetter likely to remain as OC now), but the one big note that was pretty much an afterthought in the announcement is that Raheem Morris will be our DC going into the 2020 season. He and Jeff Ulbrich turned the defense around in the 2nd half of the season. I think this change, made official, is already an improvement heading into next season.

  11. There’s a pro to this. Dam near every offensive player who contributed this season will be back next season so there’s no excuse for anyone not to know their routes and who to block. There may be a few new faces but overall the offense should mostly stay intact. We can ***** about the offensive line play all we want. In the end we witnessed a mixture of results throughout the season. The key is everyone remaining healthy.

  15. Arthur Blank...I have never bad mouthed this gentlemen. He’s a standup guy and what he’s done outside of sports for this city is truly the work of a man that believes there’s more to this life than oneself. HOWEVER... With this decision Blank feels like he’s the smartest man in the room, and that we, the paying fans, are misinformed. 1. Blank talks about having continuity. Continuity is all well and good when it isn’t inconsistent continuity. Dan Quinn has shown he is a coach of big highs and huge lows. 6-2 to 2-6, 28-3, 1-7 to 7-9 or whatever, last year when the excuse was

  16. While it’s clearly not a must win game the fans need a W. The last thing the Falcons need is to announce keeping Quinn to a skeptical fan base and then have the bad Falcon team show up. Edit: I should clarify. F draft position and all that. Im talking about fan support. I’m talking about Blank’s constituents. I’m talking about the ones that actually put skin in the game. Season ticket holders. Im sure many of them are skeptical about this as the board is. Based on the number of videos the Falcons put out it sure seems like they think the same thing. Theres no off

  23. I agree. I'm not a huge McKay fan, so it's not just liking the guy or anything. Honestly, anything to put separation between Arthur Blank and day-to-day team operations is a good move as far as I'm concerned. McKay may not be a wizard, but he's competent.

  24. My best guess is the reason for Morris over Ulbrich is because Quinn feels Morris is ready for that job and will do a better job than Ulbrich. People act like these dudes are drawing straws. They know more about football than everyone on this board put together. Having a couple of down seasons doesn't change that really.

  26. “Arthur M. Blank, Atlanta Falcons owner and chairman, announced on Thursday that general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn have been retained and will both now report directly to Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay. Blank will retain oversight of the football operation, with McKay reporting directly to him on all football matters. Additionally, Raheem Morris has been named Falcons defensive coordinator, effective at the conclusion of the 2019 season.” I’m interested to see what Raheem can do as DC after learning under one of the best offensive minds how t

  33. Let's talk prime beef. (Now everyone is full of turkey.) Why, you ask yourself, has this man taken the time to write this up on Christmas day? Because sadly some of us work in the Hotel industry and are heading into day 10 of 13 straight. (I'm not complaining, but I am taking the time to write this whilst at work..!). On an important side-note, I found the results of interesting. And if you humor me, the below may also interest you. Back to the story... It is still WAY too early, but unlike those snap draft grade articles as the confetti settles, we have all learnt some stuff. And wh

  34. I don't think it an entire coincidence the Falcons have regressed since the move from the GA dome to the Mercedes stadium. While I don't believe in magic in a building/structure itself - the PSL's and the empty seats have made it where the Falcons have no advantage playing home games from the crowd. While just ONE factor in a host of many - this factor goes largely w/o comment from TATF other than the basic fan complaints - it does affect the team as well.

  37. I am agnostic on retaining Quinn/Dimitroff. The Falcons aren't in a great spot now with the salary cap and aging stars and the future is far from certain. There is talent on the roster and DQ/TD brought most of that talent in. While there are missing ingredients to this team, I still don't see "cleaning house" as some magic elixer at turning the franchise around quickly. THE ONLY QUESTON: Is blowing out/firing Quinn/Dimitroff/Coaching Staff and bringing in a brand new team to be the new football operation for 2020 the best way to go for 2020 - OR - is it better for 2020 by main

  39. Given his work on both sides of the ball since joining the Falcons, I'm convinced Morris is the best coach on the entire staff. Wouldn't at all be opposed to him as HC if the Falcons get off to a rough start in '20.

  41. I'm ok with all moves made. You dont get stability in a franchise by firing a coach 5 years in and changing OCs every other year

  46. Don't give me any grief about 'stats'. Interpret them as you may ( leave me out of it ): Atlanta is #5 in Yards Per Game. #3 in passing yards #13 in total points DK hasn't exactly sucked. When our D started playing at a NFL average level we started winning. If he could get the rushing attack to just midlevel he'd be unstoppable.

  47. in this case ,Continuity also includes continuing to play on national NFL tv showing a 70 % empty stadium. And it's gonna get worse

  48. Fields left because he was mismanaged and not given a FAIR SHOT! There were even reports out of practice that the O was functioning at a higher level with Fields in there, it even caused a semi-split in the locker room. Fromm is average, the numbers speak for themselves. Fields never got a fair chance... put him in mop-up duty and on designed QB runs. Couldn't even showcase the cannon of an arm he has. He was used compeletly wrong. UGA screwed Fields and I hope he wins it all to prove the point that we let a generational Talent at QB go for a mediocre Fromm.
