The majority of Braves fans are in the Northern sectors of Atlanta, that is a fact. Also you ignored the fact that there are more parking spaces and easier in and out of the spaces. You appear to be one of the nut jobs that despise corporations unjustly.  Corporations exist to make a PROFIT, those that don.t. don't exist very long.  You need to channel your hatred in another direction.

So the guy throwing around names says I need to channel my hatred. You should look in a mirror.

They wanted a MARTA stop at Turner Field since easier travel to the park equals more people which equals more money but they never got it. They'll probably continue to push for that in their new locale since it's not like suburbanites north of the city won't be driving there but a MARTA stop will be much more convenient for people living in Atlanta and south of it.

The Atlanta City Council voted against a Marta stop, because it would lessen the income they would get from stadium parking. Greedy bunch weren't they ?

You just comtinue to change the subjectand cloud the issue with left wing nonsense you get from left wing sources like the AJC. It's funny how butt hurt you lefties get when a community makes a decision that they deem best for the community.  Under your Socialist rules there would be few major league stadia anywhere in the country

So those numbers are fake? Cobb County didn't pay more for the stadium itself than the Braves?

Also, a "community" did not make the decision. The people in charge did, and they allowed no discussion of it from tax paying citizens. They hauled one guy out with cops when he tried to speak up.

I'm not a socialist, and I think local governments should stop redistributing public money to billionaires to pay for stadiums. The way capitalism works is that the billionaires should pay for the **** things. You seem awfully in favor of the public footing the bills for these things. How socialist of you.

So you don't understand what zero sum means.  Nothing is taken from infrastructure etc.

Put the glass down, sober up a bit, and then re-read the post.

I don't like the visual design of the ballpark. It's not really unique to any other modern day stadium. It should've looked more "futuristic" like the Falcons' stadium, imo.

Gaudiness isn't really baseball's thing.

Socialists, like you, have a warped sense of Capitalism, but, as usual, you changed the subject when you are faced with FACTS, like where the most Braves fans reside.  Most Democrat Socialists are proven LIARS, how in the world can you defend and support them ?  There are several Socialist countries where you could move, yet you choose to live here and take advantage of the capitalist system to enrich yourself. Hypocrite !!

I didn't change the subject, I asked you to prove how what I posted was fake.  And you can't do that, unsurprisingly.

The sources you listed are all leftist, so I proved that FACT. So where do most of the Braves fans live ?  You just keep dodging and dodging when a fact hits you dead in the face.

I'm not a socialist.  I am fiscally conservative and socially moderate.  Being fiscally conservative means I frown upon local governments giving billionaires hundreds of millions of dollars to replace a perfectly fine sports arena without even letting their citizens speak up.  Numerous studies have debunked the claims that new stadiums provide economic growth for communities.  It takes decades to recoup the money.

Kicker himself said his graphic couldn't speak for "fans," only season ticket holders.  You don't have to be a season ticket holder to be a fan.  I live in Columbus, I haven't been to Suntrust Park yet and probably won't this season as my wife is having a baby next month, but I'm not amused about the extra distance.

So getting back to Suntrust how were the concessions?  Did they replace the 755 club with another option?  Do they have the same clear bag policy that the nfl has?

For me I love this move to Cobb County.  I hated going to Turner field and am happy there is stuff around the stadium to actually do some stuff.  I will be going to a few games soon, I can't wait.

It wasn't season ticket holders.  It was ticket purchases for 2012.

"As bad as the stadium deal has been for taxpayers, there's at least a silver lining. The backroom negotiations, ethics questions, and obvious lack of economic benefit for anyone or anything in Cobb County has laid bare the false claims made by teams, owners, and leagues in favor of new publicly funded stadiums.

"The reason the Braves say they want to move is because that stadium is in such a terrible neighborhood and they say 'we want to go somewhere else where we can develop that econoniy,'" Metheson told me on this week's edition of American Radio Journal. "Well, look, the original Braves stadium has had 20 years to redevelop the neighborhood that it's in, and it has been completely unsuccessful there." http://reason.com/blog/2017/04/15/atlanta-braves-new-stadium-is-a-disaster

I'm bummed by the move. We had Turner Field games down to a science. Sneak up I-20 to Hill St., grab Nick's To Go or Daddy D'z for food, park in the Azar's lot, go to the game, and sneak away down Georgia Ave. after the game. Not anymore!

I went to every opening day from 2000 - 2016. We tried to get tickets again this year, but they released so few single game tickets for opening day that it was nearly impossible to get a seat without buying a multi-game package, which is what I suppose they want you to do.

It's a cash grab in a difficult location, and the product on the field has been pretty bad. Gotta say I'm taking a break from the Braves for a bit because of it all.

And that's just the fan in me. The citizen in me finds the trashing of stadiums worth hundreds of millions of dollars pretty wasteful and ridiculous.

I actually love the move from a pure baseball standpoint, hitters parks are simply more entertaining baseball and we're gonna set record offensive numbers in this park. I'm sorta skeptical but if the Battery Atlanta lives up to the hype this could be a great thing, and I frankly do like the area a little better.

I am on agreement on the absolute shadyness surrounding how we got the park tho.

On an semi-unrelated note someone told me that State was using alumni money for their Turner renovations which considering they have one of the most unethused bases for such one as large as they are kinda seems hard to believe to me.
