What about Brees, Brady and Peyton?

Brees and Peyton have higher completion percentage and passer rating

But on the otherhand, Montana, Favre and Marino played in a much different era of football where defenses were allowed to do a lot of the things they arent allow to do today.

forgot to add that Brady has a higher passer rating.

Here's the stats for a QB's first 9 NFL seasons. I don't know where they got him as having more TD's than Marino but it's wrong. Marino had 266 and Matt Ryan has 240. Peyton is 1st at 275. Passing yards Matt Ryan is #1. Passer Rating Matt Ryan is #7. Completion percentage Matt Ryan is #3.

Would love to see the difference in team rushing and passing TDs within the 10 and 5 yard line for these QBs.

Ryan is always happy to hand the ball off whereas Brees and Peyton almost always passed.

I used to think the same thing but that's not true. Here's TD pass totals for those 3 guys through the first 9 years of their career from inside the opponents 10 yard line.

  • Matt Ryan - 123
  • Peyton Manning - 105
  • Drew Brees - 74

I know I was just pulling the most interesting bits out.

If you sort for first nine years AND 50 wins, Ryan is first in pass attempts, first in completions, first in yards, second in TDs, second in completion %, second in yards per game, fourth in wins, sixth in QB rating.

I don't know if he can hit the career numbers of Peyton and Brees, but he's going to have some really impressive numbers when he retires, just add a ring or two and he's a HOFer.

Ryan  is  60 TDs away from top ten, 9200 yards from top ten. That's career, as in two healthy years, there will only be 10 QBs all time that will  have thrown for more yards and/or TDs. And he can play 5-7 more years if he wants to after that.

Won't be the same without a ring or two, but looks like he's finally going to have a team that he can lead to the promised land.

Yeah, 3 runs and a field goal, and Ryan is probably already a shoo-in for Hall of Fame.

Pretty crazy.

Well, gotta get back on the horse and just have 5 more seasons like that MVP one, and a couple Super Bowl Rings.

I would have bet money it was the other way.  Interesting.

Where'd you get these stats by the way?

Brees completion percentage through his first 9 seasons is 64.8 and Ryan's is 64.9    Drews passer rating through his first 9 seasons is 91.9 and Ryan's is 93.6.   Brees Touchdowns = 202 and Ryan's 240.

Love matt, but he's had that team at least a couple times already in his career. It's time to just get it done.
