Carlos Ruiz has waived his no-trade clause to accept a trade to the Mariners. The Mariners will pick up his $4.5M option for 2017.

For the Mariners this gives them a solid catcher to team with Mike Zunino behind the plate.

For the Dodgers this clears a spot for Austin Barnes to team with Yasmani Grandal at catcher.

Phillies giving the QO to Hellickson today.

Marlins officially added Fredi Gonzalez to the coaching staff at 3B.

O's are reportedly leaning toward not offering Wieters the QO

Well, this takes Weiters out of the "**** No" category into the "Meh" category. I'd offer 2/22. They'd turn it down of course.

Like I posted about a potential Ian Kennedy trade.

Pierzynski says he will go through the FA process. He'll look to see if the "right fit" comes along. If not he'll just retire sounds like.

Wilson Ramos was not given a qualifying offer. I wonder if we will kick the tires on him since we are willing to take on injured players for future return?

Doubt it. Last I heard Ramos still wants like $80M

No one is going to offer him that coming off an ACL.

Jay's are working hard to keep Encarnacion. He reportedly loves Toronto but realizes this is probably his last chance at a big deal. He's reportedly seeking 5 years around $125M.

Baltimore is talking with Ian Desmond about a corner OF spot.

Kendrys Morales is a popular guy. He's reportedly hearing from Boston, NYY and Toronto.

Boston also looking at Carlos Beltran to fill their DH void.

Another pitching option...

If he's healthy Braves should take a flyer on him. I've seen enough of him to know that he can be a very successful pitcher when he's healthy. I was honestly surprised when the Mets gave up on him as quickly as they did.

Reports are that Wilson Ramos is open to a team friendly one or two year deal in order to rebuild is value in 2017 after the knee injury and then hit the market again in hopes of getting the big money deal he wants. Reports are that he could be back by May. If that's the cause then that certainly makes the Braves an option.
