Week 1 - Why We Win/lose To Saints

360 posts in this topic

Just a thread to discuss why you think we will win or lose week 1 to the Saints.

I say win 27-24

Defense typically starts fast in the season as offense takes precision and repetition.

I think this favors us since Sainta are implementing new 3-4 scheme.

While it is an away game, we have weeks to prepare and rest. So it is a best case scenario for playing the saints away and minimizes the home field advantage.

What do you think?

Think the Falcons win- think that the Falcon offense will be clicking on all cylinders while the Saints D is still learning a new scheme.

Falcons D intercepted Brees 5 times the last time they played him. Think they can slow him down enough that the Falcons win a shootout.

As always, depends on whose healthy going into the game. So far, Falcons have a huge advantage on the health front, that can change quickly.

34-17 Falcons

With SJAX the Offense will be nearly unstoppable and **** last years Saints D couldn't stop nothing, Now imagine them implementing a whole new scheme with the Wrong personnel .

1. We are due.

2. their defense is implementing a new scheme, there will be breakdowns.

3. New scheme with mismatched personnel with some role player injuries.

4. Steven Jackson historically beats the Saints by himself.

5. our secondary is going to be not only much improved but deep allowing us to scheme toward their pass first offense.

It wil be an amazing game and I believe we win by single digits. I feel as S-Jax will make a key difference in that in the pressure short down situations, we will be able to convert with him. Think about the difference in that we can run or pass at will. Biggest question is Holmes and to see how he will perform. The defense is better than most think, I just hope the two rookies are prepared to face a top QB in the NFL. I see us winning somewhere around 27-21.

I believe the Falcons only have 1 win @ NO since 2008.

Nov. 9, 2008: ATL: 31 NO: 20

Sept. 26, 2010: ATL: 27 NO: 24

Nov. 29, 2012: ATL: 23 NO: 13

Think Falcons will win because the Saints D hasn't had enough time to gel. Brees will carve up our defense but Falcons will have the better turnover ratio and bring home the W IMO.

Good point. when Breez gets flustered, he will cough the ball up. We have proven that over the years.

There's really no excuse to lose to them. Our D would have to just completely collapse. The Saints will score, but we should have a huge advantage on offense to the scraps they have left on D. They made almost no improvements, the few they made have been neutralized by injuries. They also changed schemes, with a DC with no track record of success, so they will all be swimming the first few games.

If the Saints beat us with their D, our OL problems are worse than we thought.

It's all about the chemistry and stuff-yo.

Falcons win, normsl reasons, saints were hit with the injury bug on defense and lost a reciever in morgan. The main reason however is because the saints let their starting left tackle walk last year. I think brees blindside will be weak. I saw no improvement to their defense and i dont believe payton is enough to fix last years terrible defense. Add in the fact that they have another new scheme and you have a week one win for the falcons. 27-17

I think we lose this game. It'll be too much of a statement game or emotional game for the Saints' players, coaching staff, and fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if we won, I just don't think it'll go that way.

As usual, this will be a game of match-ups, so I'd rather wait until both teams' final 53-man rosters have been set before chiming in on who I think will win. The atmosphere there will be bananas with it being Payton's first game back, so it will be as much a mental challenge as a physical one for the Falcons if they hope to pull out a W. Aints fans seem to think that Payton's return alone counts this game as a W for them, which is ridiculous, so I'd like nothing more than for the Falcons to go in there and saddle the "great" Sean Payton with a loss, but we'll just have to see.
